  1. Stats are serious people.
  2. I'd like to forfeit my prospect Wilkin Ramirez. I find it too difficult for me to stay interested in the same thread for so long. Not sure if anyone would want him, but it would update the list you have.
  3. I really like the Pirates and their fans. The Jolly Roger, PNC, the history, and the classic unis are all awesome. Too bad Forbes Field was destroyed a long time ago. Would have loved to see that ballpark as I believe it the largest ever.
  4. Rochester's season is over anyway. I don't think Hermsen is ready for AAA; although, there has got to be a better minor league journeyman available.
  5. Get ready for the Reds to pump out as many righties as possible in their lineup. Hopefully we don't have to worry about Votto as much in this game.
  6. And giving a contract to someone with those numbers in your home park is irresponsible.
  7. I believe you are correct. The 12.5 million number I assume is the average salary of the 125 highest paid players that posters keep bringing up. This only pertains to Draft Pick Compensation under the new CBA and the 80% rule still stands. Therefore, my stance in my previous post doesn't change and I would be shocked if Liriano didn't accept 6 million after pitching like crap. Source: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/downloads/2011_CBA.pdf
  8. You're telling me the 80% rule was changed in the new CBA? What Cdog said makes a lot more sense.
  9. Unfortunately, Miller Park is going to beat PNC. Brewer fans have been ballot stuffing. Miller isn't even a top 10 park in baseball and for some reason it's beating the best one.
  10. The Twins need to sign Liriano. Simply put, what we have for next year is no good and has no potential (Blackburn, Walters, Diamond, Hendriks,?). That group is not even watchable. In addition to being awful, there's not enough players under contract. Someone has to be that question mark. There is no way I'd give a contract to Greinke or Sanchez. Not Sanchez because he could be risky as a pitcher who has played in the NL his entire career and not Greinke because he is terrible at Target Field. We have a lot of money coming off the books and no free agents to sign. I don't see any harm in offering 6 million to Liriano through arbitration.
  11. I really don't want to nitpick, but I believe you are confusing C.J. Wilson and Colby Lewis. Very close though good sir and I suspect it was just a slip.
  12. Door #3 and all three with Doumit.
  13. I'd suggest the Twins sign C. Lewis. Gibson was on track to being a good #2 so I'd love if he could keep things on track after surgery. Most of the potential free agents pitchers are going to get overpaid, but we have to get at least one reliable pitcher through it. There is no quick fix and the Twins are going to have go with their bargain bin hunting for SPs again. I hate to say it, yet I have to. We are going to have to keep Liriano. Simply put, what we have for next year is no good and has no potential (Blackburn, Walters, Diamond, Hendriks,?). In addition to being awful, there's not enough players under contract. Someone has to be that question mark. That said, this is the best I think it can get unless they pay Greinke. 1 Liriano 2 Lewis 3 Diamond 4 Blackburn 5 Walters Hendriks and Gibson are both knocking as safety nets in this situation.
  14. The Orioles got Chris Davis and Tommy Hunter for Koji Uehara. That looks likes like a pretty good return for a bullpen arm.
  15. Hurray for Arcia! Now Ft. Myers has an even worse team. Santana and Boer are really the only two that I'll pay attention to there.
  16. Why would we want more pitching? This is stupid.
  17. Camden Yards, PNC Park, and Target are my favorites.
  18. The Twins really only need to build a core that is essentially untouchable (unless they are blown away which is unlikely). Right now I think that group is Mauer, Diamond, Burnett, Plouffe, Dozier, and Revere. Nearly everyone else becomes expendable for a reasonable price. I think we have two groups of trade bait. One is "As Good as Gone" and the other is "Moveable". The Difference is that the AGAG absolutely NEED to be traded, while Moveable pieces still could be part of the Twins future and would need to pried away. AGAG: Doumit, Carroll, Span, Burton, Capps, Swarzak, Liriano, and Pavano (If anyone wants him) Moveable: Morneau, Perkins, Duensing, and Willingham
  19. Puckett's Pond had a great post about some prospects the Twins may want. http://puckettspond.com/2012/06/17/10-pitching-prospects-the-twins-might-want/ Toronto looks like a great trade partner because they have Syndergaard, Sanchez, and Nicolino. I'd hope that the Twins could get 2 out of the 3 and a low prospect if they eat some of Morneau's contract.
  20. I am not a big Mauer supporter, but he has good reason to complain about that. Joe is clearly on the inside of the base path where it is illegal for base runners to go within. Since Mauer was not in the basepath he shouldn't have been hit. There is no reason for contact on that play and Weeks had plenty of time to alter his path because he was dead in the water and thrown out by a mile.
  21. Well, I have to say Chapman's fastball, Strasburg's changeup, and Kershaw's slider are all disgusting.
  22. So is the GCL slightly better than Elizabethan? They both appear to be the same level at rk. Or is it that Elizabethan begins earlier than the GCL? What's the difference? I really don't know too much about rookie ball!?
  23. @oldnurse Matt Cain received an extension. If I remember it was the largest deal ever for a RHP.
  24. Oh, now I feel stupid for missing that.
