  1. Also if you hate your AA manager you can do something about it...just kick ass and force your self to AAA and the Majors. Stick it to him that way, not by arguing with him. Actions speak louder than words etc etc etc etc
  2. If Sano is gonna be a punk about it to the manager, they should just let him do what he wants. Once he gets close o drilled in the head a time or two he will eventually learn. It's discouraging that he didnt show Ryan respect either, I love Sano and think he will special, but lets be honest, he hasn't done **** that matters yet. If you become a star in the majors and have an attitude problem that is one thing, until that point just understand you haven't done **** yet and for every stud who makes it there is a Dallas McPherson and Brandon Wood who doesn't. Very disappointed to hear he didnt give Ryan respect. Hopefully it's just an immaturity thing and this benching has reached him some humbleness. Then again, 20 year olds gonna be 20 from time to time, not worried yet....just aware.
  3. A little humility never hurt anyone... I don't blame Sano, but he has got to learn and I doubt this is the first time he has done this. People need to remember he is still just a kid, it's good that they are nipping this problem in the bud now before it became some national talking point on espn when he is a star. Anyone who thinks he didn't show up the pitcher is crazy. Hell in my adult league if you pulled that crap you would get thrown at, it's just how baseball is and always will remain, showing up the pitcher in any level is a big no no. It's 2-3 minor league games, people need to relax a bit and get off the twins cases. I'm sure this happens all the time in the minors and we just don't hear about it
  4. You are now aware florimon is out performing Andrus both defensively and offensively!
  5. Who cares?!? It's what? 3 games? Not exactly like we are contending for a first place spot now. As much as everyone hates butera I like rooting for him, he is living every kids dream and plays the game the right way. It's nice that he is getting a couple games up with the ball club again. As long as he gets no more than 30 at bats a year butera is perfectly fine org depth at catcher. Besides herrmann and Doumit aren't really every day "catchers"
  6. At what point can we pencil in DeDuno as a solid option for us in the future? Could be a solid #4.
  7. I'm sure it will slow down after the twins are down 7-2 after 2 innings.
  8. I am on a flight as well now, looks like I can get it on MLBtv with wifi. Hopefully MY Southwest Airlines flight to Laguardia ends up a tad bit smother than the one earlier that ended up delaying this one a couple hours....
  9. Because Hughes will prob get a qualifying offer if he isn't traded and you wouldn't have to give up a pick. Also you would have time to observe him and have a head start on negoating with him.
  10. Morneau for Hughes straight up. Give him a chance to pitch in target field before signing him to a 3 year 35 mil deal this offseason
  11. It most likely was Hicks, keep in mind at the time Hicks was the #37 prospect in all of baseball heading into 2009 and #19 heading into 2010. He was by far the top Twins prospect at the time....its not super similar since Sano is now a top 5 guy, but if you were in the same scenario then as you are now would you trade Sano for a rental?
  12. Ranking recent draftees is pointless IMO, we already know the potential upside etc of those guys.
  13. Actually they have Chris bermans mic and "back back back back" in the stadium as well
  14. I sorta just want to see duensing traded for no other reason then him being includes in every trade scenario the last 6 years
  15. That makes sense and is probably why the Twins have told Morneau they aren't interested in discussing an extension yet. As far as Arcia and Parmelee go. 1. Parmelee needs to figure it out soon or he is going to be eventually let go. You can't have a guy with no real defensive value continue to have a sub .700 OPS. He has had almost 500 PA the last two years and has a .228 BA, a sub .300 OBP and only 13 HR. I like the kid and hope he can turn it around, but production like that isn't exactly hard to find. 2. Arcia is lost at the plate, in his last 16 at bats he had 11 strike outs. Clearly something is up with his swing, give it a week or two of mashing at AAA and working out the kinks and he will be back up soon enough. They need to do whats best long term for Arcia and I think this is prob the best bet. He has a pretty putrid line in his last 15 games as well, 22K in 59 AB and a .432 OPS (with a non horrible .297 BABIP) Arcia will be back. It doesn't hurt to give these other guys a cup of coffee, especially a potential Garrett Jones type in Collabero. It would be nice to see him produce and become our 25th roster spot guy next year as a bat off the bench/DH/1B depth.
  16. Few things: They should sign pelfrey for two years now. Anyone who blames the twins for Gomez is ridiculous, they gave him plenty of time and had a better in house option in Span, would u have preferred to hang onto him as a 4th OF? It's like blaming the twins for RA dickey or the Rangers for Chris Davis. Competitive teams can't afford to waste that many at bats on a guy who just doesn't produce
  17. I still thought they should have brought Liriano back, but who knows, maybe without the change of scenery he doesn't produce this year This also isn't a wasted year for Meyer, he still has a good shot to be up next June regardless if he only pitches a few more games this year.
  18. How about Santana for Kershaw, Kemp and Loney? Or do we need billingsley tossed in as well? We need to make sure we get a good deal for our ace!
  19. If the Twins are going to be relying on young strike out pitchers like Meyer and may in the coming years they better have a very deep pen. Trading Perkins makes the pen that much weaker. Young strike out pitchers will usually give you 6 innings tops at this point. You need not only a shut down 8th and 9th guy but a really nice 7th inning guy as well. We are one third there with Perkins, hopefully Tonkin and burton can be the other two. Again, keep him unless you get an offer that absolutely blows you away.
  20. Oh yay, another Correia thread!
  21. 15 million a year for a sub .700 OPS? pass. Frankly you would be much much better off with JJ Hardy and pay only a fraction of the price. (Why the hell did we dump him again?)
  22. Absolutely not, I want nothing to do with a ten year contract.
  23. I would be almost say Meyer is untouchable as well, just due to our lack of significant pitching in anything close to the majors.
  24. He isn't a very good hitter. You can say what you want about Profar, but the Rangers still had Andrus under contract for a couple years, and Profar's defense was never in question. It's not like he would have a tough time matching Andrus career sub .700 OPS....
