  1. I imagine that number drops significantly once you take Perkins out of that equation?
  2. Why would you bump Buxton back down to the 9 hole after his first very good game in the majors? To be fair to to Molly I mean, 12 runs in their past 8 games with the previous lineup was sooooo successful, it's hard not to fall in love with getting a young stud like Buxton less at bats then such mashers as Kurt Suzuki, Eduardo Escobar, Chris Hermann and Nunez.
  3. Yes, I think us as Minnesota sports fans (having a franchise in all 4 major sports) should just stay happy about the fact we haven't had a championship series or game appearance in 24 years, and should continue to praise such great FA signings like Thomas "I make Pete Rose look like a smart gambler" Vanek and Ricky "that 40+ million is guaranteed no matter what, right?" Nolasco. We make Cleveland look like a clutch sports city at this point, at least they can give their fans some Excitement over making it to the championship at least. Meanwhile in Minnie USA we are completely satisfied with sweeps in the 2nd round, 12 straight MLB playoff game losses, 6 or 7 year NBA playoff droughts (don't even get me started on the Vikings)
  4. Obviously the thread is in jest along the lines of some others. On a serious note: the last nine games the twins have faced someone other than Danks they have exactly 14 runs. Just barely above 1.5 a game, that isn't going to cut it.
  5. The bad news is that teams have figured out the twins biggest weakness: right handed pitching. Good news: we face a lefty tomorrow!!!!!! Some no name names Chris Sale. Easy win incoming!
  6. Stupid auto correct.... brunansky
  7. He can't be worse then the current LHP in the pen not named Perkins.
  8. Thompson is garbage, send him and duensing packing.
  9. The bad news is teams have figured out how to beat the Twins: RHP The good news is that's 27% of starters are LHP!!!!!
  10. Beyond closing situation only Perkins
  11. Wow wouldn't it be nice if we had someone in the pen who could actually strike someone out? Instead of a bunch of guys going 3-2, letting them foul off a dozen pitches waiting for a mistake
  12. Yet another loss wasting a good start by a Twins pitcher. They are a disaster against RHP, the only player to look better under his "reign" of terror is dozier, everyone else has gotten worse or not done anything at all.
  13. You jest but you bring up a good point, if they signed Mark DeRosa they could be the first team in ML history to feature a 2 man defense and 7 DH's.
  14. I wonder if them DHing him more lately (3 in last 9 games) has helped him a bit? Mauer isn't your typical 32 year old, he spent the first 12 years of his professional career as a catcher (a pretty tall and large one by standards) so the wear and tear is likely greater. His BABIP is still really far down for him, but the most encouraging thing IMO is that 5 of his last 7 hits have been for doubles or greater. Small sample size no doubt, but it's about time we have something to be excited about for him!
  15. It wouldn't be a big deal if the two threads weren't merged, thus sparing the rest of us who really don't want to continually have to go down the rabbit whole of people's personal opinions on the worthiness of stats, but when it is merged it gets to be a little overwhelming. Personally, I would add "discussions on FIP, xFIP vs ERA" to the list of things you shouldn't discuss in a bar, right next to religion and politics.
  16. As much fun as it is to debate xFIP vs ERA vs FIP vs BA vs BABIP vs RF vs UZR vs Non refundable Boom Daddy's to the chin, can we have a cut off point of 30 posts in any given thread? Once you hit that threshold you have to go back to the topic at hand? Jeff Shashhdyashyenaskesauiemsarmismrgia's career and future FIP, xFIP and even his career ERA have little to do with the thread at hand. Less than 2% of Buxton's at bats this year will likely even come against Jeff Xylophoneviagragia anyways.
  17. Yeah, any pitcher with 3+ seasons and who is at least 27/28, ERA is where I am looking. Results matter. Some guys just frankly aren't hit as hard as other ones (even if they aren't striking out loads of guys)
  18. Jeff Samznajbdusbauisdijansdubzbbzznusdbausbdasdasdasasdgia is basically Liriano. We will either get 9 runs off him or 0.
  19. Absolutely I agree with it. The #2 hitter is going to have more at bats then the #4 hitter, why you wouldn't want that to be your "better" hitter is beyond me.
  20. I would fully get on board with a Drew Butera write in campaign.
  21. Mark Lemke
  22. Buxton as the lead off hitter is the right thing to do, if he can lead off a game with a hit or a walk it presents a quick moment of havoc for the opposing pitcher/team with him on the basepaths and effectively takes the "breaking pitch in the dirt" out of the pitchers arsenal when facing Dozier and Mauer then.
  23. Yeah that would be great, I would love for them to get an Xfinity race on the dirt as well, would be fun to see Larson and some of those guys hop back in a Xfinity car to duke it out. What NASCAR tracks have you been too? Hoping to finally make it to Daytona next year for the 500
  24. You blocked me on Grindr sadly.
