    The Twins low balled the hell out of Hunter with that offer, there is no reason why he should have taken it.

    Hunter has only been in a twins uninform for 1.5 more full seasons then Johan. Santana was also the best pitcher in the world for a 4-5 year stretch.

    Hrbek has the two rings which count for a lot, if he didn't have those his number wouldn't be retired. Good news is that Hunter will have one after this year, so maybe that bumps him upz

    I personally wouldn't retire his number, it sets the bar too low. I would retire Johan's number before Hunters.

    I don't think anyone is saying that all conservatives are against gay marriage. However all of the conservatives running for president have come out against this decision, which is fine by me. This allows hill dawg or colonel sanders to win the election in a land slide.

    Would the fork be enshrined as well? Hunter isn't a hall of fame player, a good one no doubt and he will make the twins hall of fame. The real question is: should the twins retire his number?

    Nolasco has done nothing to earn a rotation spot if and when he comes back. If these guys are all pitching like they are and healthy no way do any get put in the pen in favor of nolasco

    I'm not saying we can get him for a hoey type(who was a lower prospect than anyone in our current top 30-35 fwiw) but a year earlier he was traded for Gomez who at the time looked twice as lost and hopeless as hicks has looked. When teams sour on players they will often trade for less than optimal value anyways.

    Fwiw I have known Brock, Nick, OLTF for something like 8 years now, and have met the first two for plenty of beers (OLTF always seems to rebuff my invites for drinks for some reason) I fully respect what they have done and will continue to do. They know that I harbor no real ill will or anything like that. You on the other hand seem to have some bizzarre issue with me and have followed me in various threads now to "defend" Brock and Co against the horrors that is myself. As far as walking a mile in their shoes, I have. I have bought and later sold an Internet site in the past That had 600k and then built to 1.75 million monthly users and have often had many of the same issues, especially in terms of advertisers, user complaints, annoying ads, content etc so any criticizim or advice comes from love and wanting to see these guys make a kick ass site that they can all make a little bit of money on someday.

    I don't get "locking" two threads just to restart the whole conversation over into some sort of "official article" thread that was never originally posted to the forum page to begin with. I get not wanting to have too many threads on a topic, but come on, this was just micromanaging.

    Why were these threads suddenly merged? It messes up the flow.

    Not sure why the "Alex Meyer called up" thread was merged with a 6 page thread about Tonkin being sent down, not sure people need to read through the first 5 pages of debate in order to comment/talk about Meyer being called up. I get wanting to keep a "clean" forum, but this is overkill, it's not like there were 8 threads about Meyer being called up.

    Interesting, I guess it couldn't hurt. Though if he could end up being a major league starter I am a bit torn, this org is a bit lacking in LHSP options.

    Forget value, getting Pek off the books would be victory enough. I don't dislike Pek but he can't stay healthy, and becomes pointless when you have Towns on the roster. Bennett is garbage thus far, I can't see anyone taking him for anything more than a meaningless future pick. I'd rather just hold onto him at this point to see if it suddenly "clicks" for him next season.
