  1. Yeah I think Pelf is a good guy and I think he would have some real nice success in the pen, ideally he could haves nice last couple of months for the Twins to become a 7th/8th guy and the Twins could resign him for a 2 year/6-7 mil deal to stick in the pen.
  2. It's not hate for Pelfrey, it's just the fact that he is long overdue to be taken out of the rotation for may. 10 starts, 6.22 ERA a WHIP approaching 2.00 That is just unacceptable plain and simple when you have a guy of Mays caliber and potential rotting away in the bullpen. I have said from the jump that Pelf would make a good 8th inning guy, time to give him the shot.
  3. Last ten starts: 6.22 ERA 95 H+BB in 55 IP. So either Pelf is not very good or is the unluckiest person in the history of luck.
  4. What's his FIP the last 10-12 games? Also this is just further truth that FIP is not an end all be all star or even close
  5. I think Pelf will be solid in the pen actually. The solution is extremely simple: swap May and Pelfrey.
  6. It's clear that any competent lineup is going to get to him by their second time through more often than not. When does TR finally send Pelf to the pen(where he can succeed IMO) and either bring back May to the rotation or call up a berrios type? At this point there is less than zero reason why Pelf should be in the rotation. If you can't protect a 6-0 lead for more than 3 innings, you really shouldn't be a starter at this point.
  7. Span always seemed like a stand up guy and a great ball player. This team would have been obviously better served keeping him around not only for his skill on the diamond but his leadership as well.
  8. shame on Molly and Terry for keeping him in the rotation this long.
  9. 4.04-4.23 FIP is a #2 in your book? More like a 4/5 on a good team.
  10. The term that sums up Christie the most would be: "fat slob" His 9/11 line was so freaking cheesy. Though I think Rand Paul flipping him **** about hugging Obama was also cheesy. What a bunch of clown shoes.
  11. Doesn't believe in any human involvement global warming, doesn't believe in any form of abortion. Doesn't want to change the patriot act at all Those are the quickest threethat come to mind.
  12. assuming trump wouldn't be killed/impeached/dead of a hair piece accident within a year.
  13. I'm not sure what is having a worse night tonight; the twins chances at the playoffs or Donald trumps chances at the presidency.
  14. Some of these guys are terrifying to think they could be president: Trump, Walker, Rubio, Cruz, Christie and Huckabee are all just so freaking nuts. If I was a woman, how could I even entertain the thought of voting for any of them? (bush, trump, walker and Huckabee)
  15. we aren't talking about some 22 year old, he is almost 28. Relying on some sort of improvement as he ages can't be counted on.
  16. Speaking of data, maybe the data on Gibson is out on how he can't strike anyone out and has "meh" stuff. Lat 4 starts: 3 terrible ones and one mediocre one. He has a future in the bigs, but he is looking more and more like a backend guy instead of a 2/3 guy.
  17. He would be a very good bench bat. Maybe have him split time with Hunter in RF? Either way, I'm not worried or upset in the least that they let him go. Let's not make this out to be David Ortiz part 2 or something.
  18. Ryan isn't lazy, and I think his intentions and everything are good. I just think it's time for a change and the game has changed and he hasn't. 17 years is a pretty long lifespan for a GM. It's been a good run, but it's time to move on to something new. Even Bobby Bowden, Joe Torre, Tony LaRusa and Tom Osborne had to walk away at some point.
  19. If the Twins win tonight, they will be within one game of a playoff spot
  20. and giving away an out gets you 1/3rd closer to losing.
  21. Perhaps, but combined with all of the other bunts he has called this year, one could argue that those as a whole are "crippingly stupid" If you don't have Hunter on the bench, I don't have as big of an issue with it since Robinson is a bad hitter. But with Hunter on the bench, you absolutely have to have him bat there. Add to the fact that the Twins are in a tailspin, it's not the time to play super conservative anyways.
  22. But if Hunter gets a hit it could be a tie game since he actually ha doubles and HR power.... This also doesn't factor in positive things like: walks, wild pitches etc If Hunter comes to the plate you are looking at the following: 10% chance he gets a double or better (ties the game) 25% chance he gets a single or walk (one runner score one on third potentially) 5% chance he GIDP 40%chance he gets out (1st and 2nd 1 out) 20%chance he gets out but advances the runners anyways.
