  1. I could be very wrong, but by and large the whole Twins team seems pretty bad at bunting, I think our sacrifice success rate has to be below the league average at least.
  2. "If it worked in the 10th inning of game 7 of the 1991 world series its bound to work here!"
  3. Actually now it makes a ton of sense why he batted Nunez 2nd today. Molly loves his bunting, but every time the Twins face a good pitcher it seems like he kicks up the bunting and stealing up 5 more notches.
  4. He is taking some much better at bats as of late.
  5. That is who I was referring to actually, I was wrong, it is 0 for 4!
  6. And that is why you don't bunt in the third inning of a 1-1 game....
  7. Revere has to be on the short list of guys that it makes no sense to walk ever in any situation. The guy has singles power and nothing else. You are better off just putting one right down the middle and playing the percentages.
  8. Glad to see Santana brought his D game today. Walking Revere on 4 pitches?
  9. Nah. The only way the Twins stay in it is if Hunter starts hitting again.
  10. You let that SCRUB hit a HR off you?
  11. I wouldn't even call the budgets similar, the Twins have 22 mil more in payroll then the A's this year (30% more)
  12. Hicks has a .600 OBP against Price. Why is today the day you move him down in the lineup?
  13. FYI for everyone not in MInnesota, the game is on MLBN today. (beats MLB.tv delays!)
  14. This Blue Jays offense is so freaking ridiculous, every guy is a threat to hit it out of the park on any bad pitch. It's going to be imperative that the Twins don't make mistakes in the field or walk guys this series. The HR's will happen, hopefully most of them will be solo shots or 2 run dingers at worst.
  15. Most would argue that Beane has done more with a whole lot less, but I think even he is feeling that it's time for the A's to make a serious run which lead to his aggressive deadline last year. I forgot that Melvin had been around so long.
  16. I actually thought the opposite, it was the one signing that wasn't an overpay, just because of the short number of years they had to commit to him. I would take Shields in a heartbeat on this club.
  17. I doubt that AJ would make it all the way through to the Twins, but crazier things have happened. He just seems like an easy guy for a team to block. I think Benoit would have a decent chance to sneak through to the Twins once the Padres finally decide they are "out" of it. His salary plus declining his option would cost 4 million or so, so he wouldn't be as easy/no brainer of a "block" as would AJ or the likes.
  18. And yes, there really is no good reason why Sano isn't at 3rd base.
  19. Nunez batting 2nd? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  20. I have been saying all year and still maintain he would actually be a pretty good 8th inning guy out of the pen, he could dial up his fastball to 97/98 and with a little movement could carve himself out a nice career in the pen. I would prefer they test him out now, and decide if he is worth keeping around next year for a bullpen role as well.
  21. Jepsen isn't terrible, but he also isn't the 8th inning guy the Twins need. He is basically a ROOGY (a very good one at that) Last night showed why he can't be counted on to just "shut down" a big inning, he faced two lefties and walked them both. He couldn't get a pitch by Seager to save his life. Then was able to get a big strike out from Cruz (RHB). Jepsen is nice piece of a bullpen if utilized properly, however I'm not sure I trust the Twins to do that at this point.
