  1. Hunter since July 1st: .169 BA .549 OPS
  2. Time to put Hunter out to pasture
  3. I am wrong a TON. But I was right on Hicks and always thought he would end up being a good player, not all star level, but Span level like. Hopefully he keeps it up and becomes a key part of a 4-5 year playoff run for this team.
  4. I'm an idiot. I saw the 0.00 era and forgot that he isn't a rookie, rather just a mediocre arm. The same thought of (0 or 13 runs) still applies.
  5. I thought it was pretty entertaining, should be even better on a repeat watch, very pulpy and lots of Noir type plots going on. Not life changing, but solid overall. Vince Vaughn really did great work the last 3 episodes of the season. The voice message not getting sent was a pretty heartbreaking piece of TV, along with the paternity results. heavy.
  6. .500 OBP against is certainly an inprovement
  7. Compare what he did to the twins whole lineup in that insanely small sample size. I saw him take a ton of at bats against curveballs as well. He looked fine to me.
  8. fwiw he has a negative 0.1 WAR on fangraphs, which mean he is worse than replacement level according to them. I am actually more positive and view him as basically replacement level. Not a bad guy to stash in AAA on a minor league deal, but absolutely not a guy you should hand the 8th or 7th inning role to out of spring training or even be on the 25 man roster out of spring training.
  9. Boyer can't strike anyone out and has a 4.35 FIP. That is pretty much the definition of replacement level. No it wasn't a "very quality signing" it was a mediocre to "meh" signing. He is ok for a 90 loss team, but for a team with playoff aspirations he should be no where near the 25 man roster, fortunately for him the Twins are the former at this stage, so indeed he will be back this season.
  10. lifetime .867 OPS in the minors being 21 or younger (same numbers in AA and AAA) doesn't indicate that he might just mayyyyybeeee have a "hit" tool as well? Harsh critic.
  11. we did, when we were all in Minnesota earlier this summer. Not sure we feel like taking the Amtrak or driving (lol) from NYC to Baltimore at this point. Baltimore kind of sucks as a city outside of Camden, also soft shell crab is terrible.
  12. Not having an impact bat or even a mediocre bat on the bench is killing the Twins. When your lineup is struggling you absolutely need a guy like Arcia or even Vargas who can at least PH and be a threat to hit a double or HR
  13. Rookie on the mound, which means the twins will either score 8 runs off him or zero. No chance of anything inbetween. Let's hope for the former. Also I hardly went anywhere, just changed the name to be shorter...
  14. Ditto. I would prefer a young up and comer but the Pohlads and "I'm going to green light the Cordova/Cancer Patient/new stadium commercial" St. Peter would never do something that outside the box. Browski is a solid compromise though.
  15. I realize that, did I ever say he did? Wieters however is going to be expensive, I would love to bring him in if the price is right.
  16. uhhhhhh no
  17. Short answer: no Long well thought out answer: Oh Hells No
  18. I was debating it but have family coming to town. Camden is an amazing ballpark, enjoy!
  19. If you aren't signing an ace it isn't worth getting a guy in free agency (aside from a one year contract type) I'd also steer clear of catchers with concussion issues. AJ Would be a good pickup IMO. Trade Nolasco or Santana for Reyes.
  20. Wow. That is just pathetic and sad. You see a guy 6 times in one week, the hitters SHOULD have the advantage at that point.
  21. Released from the Blue Jays, Sign him and give him a shot. See if Allen can fix him.
  22. Good, what an embarrassing showing. I feel like every time they lose a close or tough game they come out completely flat like this. Football and hockey season can't start soon enough.
  23. Is it me, or have the Twins been one, two or three hit more than usual this year (especially this second half of the season)
  24. Toss in a UTIL guy like Polanco, Escobar or Santana? Or anyone outside the top 25 in the Twins system, I would be fine with that as well.
  25. They got more prospects for Tulo because they were willing to take on the Reyes contract. Reyes doesn't have any real trade value currently, in any trade they would have to eat the majority of the contract to even get back a C level prospect for him at this point. So the Rockies basically have three options: 1. Keep Reyes (Story remains blocked) 2. Trade Reyes and at least 30 million to a team for a C level prospect 3. Trade Reyes for another bad contract (that could fill a need in a bigger area for them i.e. SP) I think they have no desire in 1, and finding a partner for "2" is difficult. Santana for Reyes I think makes a good amount of sense for them.
