  1. Normally I would bitch about that send, but robinson was due up next which is a sure out anyways. I'm fine with that send
  2. I would argue the best three OF the twins could throw out every night is Buxton Rosario and Hicks. It's a disgrace 2 of those three aren't playing in a near must win game
  3. The world really did change after 9/11
  4. I'm actually impressed it hasn't been longer.
  5. this has a classic 2-0 or 2-1 loss written all over it.
  6. That one is on you no range Robinson,
  7. why the **** is buxton not playing over Robinson?!?!?!?
  8. Rosario would have had that.
  9. Teammates have a message for Mike Remond
  10. Shane Robinson gets his 4th start in 9 games I believe...
  11. CC Needsabathia prepares for his upcoming start against the Twins. http://41.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lpf93jFLYm1qh59n0o2_540.png
  12. Nishioka They also developed Ramos who was a good catcher. SS are hard to develop in general, Dozier and Plouffe are two examples of guys who projected to be SS but ultimately couldn't "hack it" defensively at the position. As far as other SS: hardy wasn't bad, OCab wasn't bad.
  13. It's accurate and funny because CC Needsabathia is fat
  14. Honest question. What is the point of this comment?
  15. Dude the stadium isn't as ridiculous as you make it out to be. It has a 99 Park Factor for hitters (multi year) and a 101 Park factor for hitters this year. (Barely favors hitters). Target Field as a comparison has a 103 park factor for hitters. It's not like the Yankees have a ton of guys hitting 30 HR, they have 3 guys hitting 20 or more. Is it easier to hit a home run their versus Target Field? Sure. But not by as much as you are making it out to be. The Yankees hit plenty of Home Runs at Target Field as well and spanked the Twins. Don't blame it on the park, blame it on the players/manager/GM for the incompetence against the Yanks this year.
  16. I agree, but Perkins didn't help matters any.
  17. Hard to blame that game on the ballpark when Hicks and Plouffe both benefited from it as well...
  18. FWIW his MLB OPS though terrible still is 70 points higher than Hunter since August 1st. Equal since the all star break. We of course don't know how Buxton will fare, however I am pretty confident that he wouldn't be any worse at this point, plus you get the added bonus of developing a large part of your future.
  19. And a temporary brain lapse made me realize that I forgot Buxton! Who is the most ready of all of the options and the one guy who could jump start this team potentially and get them back on track. FREE BUXTON!
  20. Suzuki certainly has his faults, but I think he "frames" pitches ok and generally calls a good game. His inability to throw anyone out on the other hand...
  21. While that might be true, you could probably say that about every game where a pitcher has struggled. The "zone" had nothing to do with him plating a 0-2 pitch for McCann to go yard with. That is just such a stupid mistake, and Gibson seems like a smart pitcher which makes it so much more frustrating. If he gives up 5 runs off a bunch of singles and such, I don't have a big problem with it. But those 5 runs came from bad pitching: 0-2 Home Run, a couple walks, a lot of hard hit balls in hitters counts etc
  22. That is a really great point. I don't think the Yankees a particularly "good" team this year, and the lineup isn't as scary as it used to be, not even by a long shot. But you are right, all of those veterans are savvy enough etc not to be fooled by pitchers like Gibson.
  23. He has a .531 OPS since July 1st even with them playing him less and less. Since August 1st it's even worse at .470. Unfortunately we are seeing the end of Hunter, it was a good run, but these things happen when a player hits 40 these days. I just don't see how the Twins can even hope for him to post a .750 OPS, doing that would be a minor miracle at this stage. Which means the Twins really need to figure out how to fix RF, they have plenty of internal options who deserve a shot (Arcia, Kepler, etc) and there are some guys on the waiver wire currently that could at least fill in, or be a platoon guy etc (Garrett Jones)
  24. I wouldn't trade him just to trade him, however, since he is on a very team friendly deal and is still one of the better closers in baseball, I would look to move him this off-season or next year. I think closers in general are a bit over rated, so if you can get a top 50 prospect back in return or a high upside SP prospect, I think you have to consider it.
  25. Honestly, I don't think he is. This is very unfortunate, Ryan had a great reputation as a GM, he did some good things and built the Twins into a contender, however all of that good will is getting wasted by his sudden refusal to "evolve" with the game.
