  1. What if he stinks the last 6 weeks of this year? That isn't a cause for concern? He has struck out like 3 of his last 80 something batters, that makes Nick Blackburn look like the big unit. He is currently sporting the worst k/9 of his career, worst bb/9 of his career and worse HR/9 of his career, he is 32 and was busted earlier this year for Roids. Worry may not be the right word, but there is definitely cause for concern moving fwd with him.
  2. Reyes cleared waivers, the Rockies clearly will look to get rid of him with Story knocking on the door. No team is going to give up any real assets for Reyes, which brings me to.... If you are Ryan do you offer Santana for Reyes straight up? Both are owed similar money, but Santana has a good chance to hit his IP requirement to make his 2019 option guaranteed, while Reyes would only be around for 2016 and 2017 (4 mil buyout in 2018) Reyes fills a need for the Twins for the next couple years and lets them walk away from the Santana mistake of a contract. Typically players aren't traded in the first year of deals, but I think an exception can be made when said player was busted for roids before he ever pitched a game for the team (thus no bad feelings around the league amongst agents and players) For his troubles, Santana has proven to be at least solid in his career and could help a Rockies rotation that is currently a mess and full of unproven pitchers. The Twins allow one more spot open in the rotation for May, Berrios etc to take advantage of as well. (NTM when Nolasco is back and healthy) Thoughts?
  3. Santana, no doubt about it.
  4. Buxton Mauer Sano Dozier Kepler Hicks Rosario polanco Wieters
  5. If I had to guess anything it would be injury. Hip injuries seem to "stick" around for long periods of time, hell A-Rod basically vanished for over a year due to one, and even when he was "healthy-ish" he was playing poorly. Hopefully he can perform well in ST next year and win a spot as at least a platoon DH type out of ST.
  6. I think you need to change your twitter handle on your profile...
  7. +1 grassy knoll.
  8. I wanted them to sign Nelson Cruz instead of Hunter. Good thing they didn't.
  9. so do the owners. The NFL treats its players like crap. I give them another 20 years before the league is basically sued into oblivion and is shut down.
  10. I think they should move him to DH, seems to have worked for A Rod. Bat him 2nd in the lineup: Hicks Mauer Sano dozier (This gives Sano protection) Play Sano at 3rd and Plouffe at first. Trade plouffe in the offseason and call up Kepler or Vargas to play first.
  11. It's easy to complain about the Nolasco and Santana deals, but both guys were pretty solid before they came to Minnesota and turned into pumpkins.
  12. I don't mind them going with Duffman on Saturday, he deserves another shot after being lead to the gallows against that Blue Jays lineup at home.
  13. good! That plays right into our strength!
  14. He is much more likely to punch Hicks in the face then give him the RF spot
  15. Call Robinson a "4th Of" all you want, but he has started in 40% of the last 15 games.
  16. What has Shane Robinson done right this year? (Knuckleballs in blowouts don't count)
  17. He played 11 games!!! The whole team struggled during that time. The offense scored 3 or less runs in 7 of those games. 2 or less in 5 of those games. He had 37 at bats! And fwiw he went 4-14 in his last 3 games .333 BA anyways before the injury. And yeah he was 0-4 with 4ks in his last MLB game, but I will give him a slight pass since that was against Chris Sale who likely will win the Cy Young this year or very soon Also a broken finger is NOT a serious injury. Please.
  18. There have been and currently are plenty of alternatives for Suzuki. Also, hunter isn't "locked in" he has to take a minimum of 2 days off a week at this point, and Rosario is pulled for tough LHP anyways. That is even before we get into Mauer and his one day off a week (opens up DH for Hunter) Robinson is playing 2-3 times per week. He should not be. Buxton would certain be significantly better option then him for now and the future.
  19. I acknowledge that the Twins are the worst team in baseball since the all star break. They have the number 1 prospect in baseball who is now healthy and has proved he deserves a good long chance currently at the major league level. I acknowledge that there is no reason why he should be one of the 25 guys currently on the major league roster.
  20. The twins clearly don't think so. Otherwise Robinson wouldn't be on this team and Suzuki wouldn't be the starting C, neither has done anything to "earn" their current roles. And this isn't even including the bullpen mess and SS mess.
  21. Yeah, that's beyond silly. The Twins have kept up plenty of struggling players over the years. Gomez, Hicks, Santana, etc etc etc
  22. You are right, I can't say with a fact what Ryan did or did not do at the deadline.(btw implying that I was saying he was eating Bon bons or watching Netflix when I never implied any such thing is the exact thing as flame baiting and trolling) TR has been a GM for 17 years, and for 17 out of 17 years he has not ONCE been what most outside observers and Twins fans ever call "aggressive" at the trade deadline. Not. once. So sure, maybe this year he was oh oh oh so close to pulling off a move for a Tulo or a catcher, but the last 17 years of results tell a very different story. call it trolling or whatever you want, 17 for 17 years isn't jumping to wild conclusions, it's very much a trend. Ryan is most likely the most conservative GM in baseball, please feel free to refute with arguments back that don't include me dismissing him as some Neflix and Bon Bons binger.
  23. FYI: There are 56 qualified OF in baseball. Hunter ranks 44th in WAR and in the bottom half of OF in OPS+ with qualified and anyone with 200+ at bats.
