  1. Why that is very true, it is important to note that as far off/crazy/etc as he may be, he IS still leading the GOP field. Will this last? Highly unlikely, but we have been saying this for months now, it's clear (and scary) that there is a very large number of people who do support him. Again, I don't consider these supporters your "average" conservative, but it is concerning that it is a rather large group numbers wise.
  2. I think I pay like $385 a month for a decent plan, seems reasonable/affordable enough. And it was easier then having the company i work for (Canadian) set up a whole American health plan just for one employee (basically they just pay me an additional $385 to make up for it) Haven't had any real issues with it, of course it would be nicer if it were cheaper, but it is what it is.
  3. I actually think Obamacare is looking pretty good for a solution overall, they could make it easier/simpler for people to pick a plan, but alot of that is still on the insurance companies basically getting people to sign up for **** they don't need with scare tactics.
  4. Nobody is doing that or implying that.
  5. The only thing matters is who is a better player over the rest of their contracts (3 years)
  6. He is a more valuable player then Plouffe, he plays a premium position and has put him more years of .750 OPS then Plouffe has and more .770 OPS then Plouffe has. I'm not concerned that he had a bad 2013, he had a good 2014 and an ok " 2015, oh and he is only 25. Plouffe is merely average, and was doing absolutely nothing for this club at age 25.
  7. The guy is a lawyer, so him grandstanding a bit in this article isn't shocking, also didn't care for the "I lived in NYC" 9/11 reference. Again if he wouldn't have included these two things, perhaps a conversation could have happened, instead its just fuel to the fire for the racist yahoos.
  8. I appreciate seeing a team like the Diamondbacks "going" for it. They have the best 1-2 combo in baseball now at the top of the rotation and have some really awesome young bats to match: Pollock and Goldschmidt. The time is now. If they win a title in the next 4-5 years, this trade is more than worth it for them.
  9. Hmm, that is interesting I could have sworn I have read numerous arguments stating to the effect: "it's not even about money, a big name FA will never want to play in Minnesota anyways"
  10. It's funny because he was actually a terrible president who got us into a pointless war by lying to the people about WMD's, a war that helped cause the formation of ISIS with destabilizing the entire region. It's funny because Trump is 100x worse.
  11. Yeah, those "prime" years of Santana where he should have won 3 Cy Youngs in a row put him in pretty rare air, that is like top 10 3 year runs in the HISTORY of baseball.
  12. I will say though the author "shaming" the others in the section for not doing anything and then comparing it to white supremacists shooting up a BLM protest is a bit of a reach and is only going to "inflame" any rational discussion on the matter. I wish he would have left that part out of the op ed.
  13. The author should be commended as well, he himself showed a lot of restraint, how easy (and justifiable) would it have been for him to pummel the racist? Instead he went and got security like he should have done.
  14. I'd like to hope the man was drunk, again nothing excuses that type of behavior or thinking to begin with. Security should have tossed him, but your random "citizen" shouldn't have stepped it, it only would have escalated the situation and could have led to actual violence. Just look at all the fights and such at games over the years, Brian Stow, stabbings in parking lots etc. Sometimes it's better to just "ignore" and keep an eye on things then escalate them.
  15. I think Hanzee might actually be related to the family, when Dodd called him "half breed" that made me think that perhaps Otto was actually Hanzee's dad, but because he was viewed as the "bastard" he was always treated second class by the family. Even more telling was that when he stabbed Floyd (a really well done scene) she didn't ask him "why?", it sort of appeared that she knew why he did it. I doubt Milligan is going anywhere prior to the end of the final episode, Milligan vs Hanzy has been building all season for one big show down, but then again they could pull a "no country for old men" on us and never deliver. Though, Milligan trying to take out the "last" Gerhardt Male (Hanzee) would make for some great television. My random predictions: Betsy lives Hank dies (is already dead basically) Ed dies Peggy lives Hanzee is killed by Milligan Milligan is killed by Simone (not dead!) Kitchen Brother gets away. Season ends with Lou, Betsy, Molly and the king of breakfast talking about UFO's and Regan over some pancakes and beer.
  16. There have always been these sort of idiots spewing this non-sense in the country, the internet just gave them a voice to the whole country (instead of just their inbred relatives and low IQ buddies at their local watering hole) The internet has just proven what has always been true: 50-75% of the population is either: -an ******* -stupid or both.
  17. Goto any NFL Stadium and you will find a few thousand drunken idiot racists. None of this is shocking. As far as the author being upset that nobody "stopped" the guy from saying that stuff, I can't really be too upset at that, when you see a drunk person ranting/raving the best course of action is to not confront them, of course if they are actively hurting/putting someone in danger that becomes an option, but if they are just "yelling, cursing, being an *******" I find you are better off to just find security and not confront them directly. But yeah, again none of this is shocking or even a tad bit surprising, which is the truly sad part.
  18. It's ok Shane, you will always be top 50 to us.
  19. Meh, Warren is nothing special. Castro >>> Plouffe. For one thing, Castro is 5 years younger then Plouffe and still has time to grow (power numbers should go up etc) Castro plays SS/2B which is more valuable then an average 3B Castro has topped .770 OPS twice and .750 OPS 4 times, Plouffe has never hit .770 and has only topped .750 twice. Castro's upside is a guy who plays SS can get his power up to 20 HR range and give you a .770-.790 OPS. Great deal for the Yankees, the contract owed isn't that bad at all anyways.
  20. Thoughts on the UFO: Let's look on who has actually "seen" it this season: Rye- Dead Bear-Dead Hanzee- Going to probably be dead Peggy(Twice)-Crazy Ed- Going to probably be dead Lou- Only one who will survive/isn't crazy. However in Lou's case he was getting choked out by Bear, about to lose consciousness, at the end of the day he may never know "what" he saw. That leaves Peggy as likely the only one who makes it out alive who saw the UFO, and because she is crazy nobody will really takes it seriously. Basically that seems to be the case anytime their is a UFO reported, only one person sees it etc and they aren't believed. Thus, I don't mind it, even if it was a deus ex machina.
  21. That "big investment" into sabremetrics is paying off huge! "According to our 18 month study, the key to winning games is scoring more runs then your opponent in a 9 inning game"
  22. I was gonna post a thread on this. However Lee will certainly have plenty of suitors, I have a hard time believing Minnesota will be on the top of his list. Yankees, Red Sox, Cards, Mariners, Rangers, all jump to mind for a landing spot for Lee
  23. Facing MLB hitters has caused many a pitched to fall off Don't get me wrong, I really like Berrios, but pitching prospects are fickle, give me the proven guy with a couple years less of team control all day and every day.
