  1. Again 6 is the obvious fit for the current structure. It rewards the best two teams with a buy, and allows the big 12, PAC 12, big ten, acc and sec all to get auto bids (the big 12 needs to pick up 2 more teams and get a conf champ though) The 6th team allows a Notre dame, BYU, etc to get in as well (or a one loss non conf champ)
  2. I actually think (pound for pound) MSU is the third best team in the east, trailing OSU and Michigan.
  3. Name one good team Iowa beat this year. Crushing way to lose? They let Michigan state march down the field when it mattered the most. It's a shame the two best teams (Bama and OU) will have to face each other in the first round.
  4. Terry Ryan hard at work trying to improve the bullpen.
  5. Twins fans react to the "Sano to the OF" move
  6. Iowa is going to lose by 30 to a pretty mediocre Michigan state team.
  7. He's a better option than Fien and Boyer, that's for sure. He should be fine as long as you don't make him your closer, however since TR already signed the mediocre Fien, there is no room for another non elite RP.
  8. Also give me Fien at 2.5 million over Stauffer last year at the same amount.
  9. I'm not super worried about that, if there has been one thing the twins have been worse then their ability to develop good young starting pitching (strike outs) over the past decade, it's developing power bullpen arms. Other than Perkins, and now May (who should be a starter anyways) they haven't had a whole lot of feather in their caps so to speak.
  10. I tend to think all mass shooters are domestic terrorists, I think they fall into this bucket, Isis hasn't claimed responsibility and everything appears to this be a lone wolves scenario. Whether it's because you can't get laid, hate your classmates or because you have a perverse interpretation of a religion, it's all the same bull**** in my mind. Sounds like this dude was normal until he met his wife in Saudi Arabia, and she might have "converted him" to this line of thinking, which brings up a huge issue in my mind, the Saudis are "allies" but very very very shady/suspect to say the least in general IMO (when it comes to the government)
  11. Fair enough, I just think you were quick on the trigger and there was some good discussion going on (i.e. What the common fan these days do and don't know in regards to ops Obp etc) I would have just preferred you ban the bickering people (it was really only one that I saw) or tell them to keep out of the thread, maybe I will just start a new one about "what stats should front offices talk about when dealing with the average fan" etc
  12. I hate mediocrity as much as anyone else...but as long as Fien is the 5th option in the pen (including closer) I don't mind this move. I'd much rather have Fien in that role then Boyer. If Burdi or someone presses the issue you can always let Fien walk at some point Stauffer style. However if Fien is the 3rd option behind perkins and Jepsen.... Uh oh
  13. My bad! I'm just so excited about the pelf news!
  14. Anyways though, it's all good, if it looked like I was taking a "shot" I apologize, as I obviously like the site, owners etc and wish them every chance of success. It was more just about whybthebthread was deleted etc but all good.
  15. Posting on the twins forum, it's the off season, it's what happens, hence why I don't understand why a thread that was getting discussion from several people was deleted so quickly. Meanwhile posting is up on several other twins daily forums and sister sites (Vikings daily wild etc) Never once mentioned traffic
  16. Honestly, you didn't miss much, it was mostly about the value of RBIs in regards to Plouffe (since Ryan said something to the effect of, why do people want to trade Plouffe? He lead us in RBIS!")
  17. I never talked about site traffic, this is twice you have missed a key point (the first of which was saying Diehard didn't mention me) I talked about posting on the Twins page, posting hasn't been very busy as of late. It's not a "shot" at all, there just isn't a whole lot of things to talk about currently, so I am not sure why you would remove a thread that people were actually viewing/responding to. But since you bring that topic up, I DO in fact know what the site traffic currently is and what it has been each month for the last couple years, it's not my place to "report" it, as it's up to the owners what to disclosure or not to disclose. I will send you a PM with my proof, but again, I never mentioned "site traffic" I mentioned posting has been down on the Twins page, so deleting that thread made even less sense.
  18. Huh? No. That is only if a player refuses a qualifying offer, which Pelfrey never came close to getting.
  19. I don't mind the Fien tendering as he is a solid pitcher, however I think they need to bring in one more shut down type arm, whether through trade: storen, chapman or even papelbon (though Washington would have to eat almost every penny in this scenario) I have a feeling though the twins are already penciling May into the bullpen, which is a shame.
  20. It's an interesting case, it appears they were "motivated" by ISIS, but ISIS as a whole never had anything to do with it. Looks to be a couple of crazy people who got lured in by a message etc and took it upon thereselves to go kill a bunch of people. While terrorism by be a case, I find it odd they shot up where the guy worked, there has to be some other "factors" that lead them to this. Either way, they shouldn't have been able to get AR-15's so easily IMO
  21. I'm not sure why the Cubs would trade Baez for those three guys, Nolasco has extreme negative value, you can find a dozen guys like Milone on the FA market and Escobar is a "nice" player but no where near the value that Baez will bring. If you want to target Baez (not a bad thing) then you have to give up real assets.
  22. Pelf must have some serious blackmail.
  23. Reports should remain confidential, very dissapointed you would make that public. I reported one specific comment that could have derailed the thread, it was deleted like it should and then you decided to delete the whole thread. Whatever do what you want, it's your site.... if you don't want people to inject a little sarcasm from time to time the forums are going to be boring as hell (the posting has already slowed up quite a bit anyways)
