  1. That was pretty much a perfect hour of television. Could season 2 of Fargo be the greatest single season in television history? It's certainly up there with season 3 of the wire and season 4 of breaking bad.
  2. Also I will add that I don't think adding power is a market inefficiency or "money ball" in any real way. If it was, then guys like Chris Davis wouldn't be set to make 100+ million this off-season. The long ball has always been sexy/huge crowd draw etc
  3. Hermann was traded for anything they could get. Hicks was traded to make room for Buxton to man CF moving forward, I don't think the Twins are doing anything to open up space for Arcia, he seems to be in the dog house a bit.
  4. I have a feeling the "Twins" leaked this info to generate interest in Plouffe, if there was already "significant interest" I have to believe they would have already pulled the trigger. Average players like Plouffe don't set off bidding wars...
  5. By recent moves you mean Pak? Murphy doesn't have any real power.
  6. Lol at the guy who wants to bench Rodgers. Lol at the people who "upvoted" him Also I'm confused, Wilson had a big thing pre season about how he is staying celibate, meanwhile the Seahawks are even worse than the packers at 4-5....what does God want!?????
  7. Victims? No. Society? Absolutely we are responsible for creating many of those conditions.
  8. I just finished the 2nd to last episode. Holy. ****.
  9. They aren't asking any questions whatsoever! They are cashing in on people's fears and insecurities by using their platform to more or less **** all over an entire segment of the population. It's disgusting.
  10. But the GOP leaders are being racist, Trump is pushing the "every Muslim needs to register and be in a database" angle, You know who else did that? The ****ING NAZIS. Most times comparing anything to Hitler/nazi germany is out of line, but in this case, it's extremely relevant. Rubio is basically saying that anywhere Muslims congregate should be shut down (Mosques etc) I'm not making any of this up, these are all things said by them, and endorsed by a large number of their followers. They (Trump, Rubio, Christie) all of those governors are being racist, ugly, bigots. That is the reality, I'm sorry if that by calling them what they are is "hurtful" I find their acts, and their followers to be much more hurtful. We should be ashamed (I already am) that not only are some of our "leaders" spouting this bile, but that a good chunk of their followers are agreeing. Disgusting. As far as how/why are we responsible? Uh, did you forget the disaster that was the Iraq war? Do you really think that had nothing to do with the destabilization of the entire region and thus the rise of ISIS? Lastly I will repeat again: Since 9/11, 750,000 refugees have come to the USA, 0 of them have carried out a terrorist act. Hell, every single person involved in the Paris attacks had a EU Passport!
  11. Michael would basically be a util INF/25th man on the bench, a competitive team would be able to stash him as he would only be playing once a week or so anyways. Either way I don't mind losing him.
  12. The fact that San Diego picked him up makes me think they view him as a catcher, though I suppose they could try him at 1B or something? Who knows. If its true that he won't/can't catch again, I don't mind it then.
  13. Sweet, this makes me loathe the already terrible trade even more! Great work though Parker, hopefully Murphy can learn how to hit a curve at least once in a while, that's only our prayer that he becomes even close to an average catcher.
  14. Since the Paris attacks, around 245 Americans have been murdered with guns. About two Paris attacks. Every week. All year. Every year. (35 per day in 2014) It's pretty clear "we" as a whole don't care about gun deaths.
  15. Losing Pinto is a mistake. I will never understand how this team views catching defense, yes, Pinto wasn't great, but Suzuki last year was atrocious and can't throw anyone out to save his life.
  16. Why are people so afraid to give up Kepler? The guy plays 1B and RF and while a nice player, he isn't exactly a 30 HR type.
  17. They would turn that down in no time flat. If you aren't going to include Berrios (which I don't see this deal happening without him) then you definitely have to include Kepler AND Gordon. Michael and Wimmers have zero real value, Burdi or Meyer have slightly more.
  18. Berrios is under control for 3 more years then Fernandez. I don't see it as an issue, it would be if we are talking about one year, but 3 years is plenty of time, teams should be planning for 2-3 years out anyways planning for 5+ years out is a recipe for mediocrity As far as signing him long term, the Mauer, Nolasco, Santana dollars will all be off the books after 3 years, they could afford to keep him around long term if they want to.
  19. Yup, agreed. I would give them Berrios+Kepler+Stewart+More in about two seconds flat. He instantly makes the Twins a contender, and more importantly gives them a shut down ace guy that could pitch 2 games out of 5 in the playoffs and 3 out of 7 in the world series. /salivates
  20. Oh man, I wouldn't. Fernandez is the exact type of pitcher that can take this team and put them over the top. Also those three years of control give the Twins a head start on getting him on board with a long term deal.
  21. I get not including Sano or Buxton, but why wouldn't you trade Berrios? There is about a 99% chance that Fernandez is ultimately the better pitcher.
  22. I would argue that a good number of politicians and people don't truly care about school shootings, the NRA clearly don't care as every time one happens they come out guns blazing to defend the right to bear arms before the bodies are even cold. Politicians, Yeah they may "say" they care, but if you refuse to change anything or actually look into the problem, do you really care?
  23. may I remind you sir, you are ON the record here.
