  2. Too late. It's already been entered!
  3. Yeah the problem isn't so much the Angels, it's that there are like 4 other teams within striking distance, where a 10-2 run would almost certainly catipult them into the spot if the Twins play .500 or slightly above .500 ball
  4. After the robbed home run, he looked halfway decent. I'd love to see Perk continue his career to be honest. Even if he is just a 4th or 5th option out of a pen.
  5. Try to keep it to one per post. Kevin tappani. The unsung hero of the 91 Twins
  6. Best Minnesota trip in a long time for me, Vikes win, and Twins win (both big time!) in the midst of tonight's ass kicking started talking with the old man about "remember this guy who played for the Twins?" Fun game. In honor, let's start a "remember that guy" thread for the Twins: Rules: -Name a guy who played for the Twins, no duplicates, let's see how far we can go. -No hall of famers, all stars, retired numbers or legends. That's too easy. I will start with two: Juan Castro Shane Mack Now go! Let's see how far we can get without a duplicate. If you want bonus points, list a stat, fact, memory, moment or anything you find on Wikipedia about the guy.
  7. Yeah you would need to get a SP under team control for 2-3 years who is a "true" #2 (ie better than Santana and Berrios)
  8. At this stage, where the team sits and how they look for the future, I don't see how you can trade Dozier. I'd be hesitant with an extension, I would agree to a 3 year extension at around 23 mil a year, but I could see Dozier wanting to get a 5 year deal on the open market. Though 69 million gives him peace of mind in the interim. He still should be productive at age 34.
  9. I'd target teams like the Mets, Braves etc
  10. I like Bartolo...a lot. I do think he is pitching above his head a bit, but I can't argue with the results at all. But you need more than just him, IMO you can't really count on him being more than a #5 heading into 2018, could he be better? Sure, but you don't want to set yourself up relying on Colon being a #3/#4.
  11. Also it's not just his approach, he seems to have made the most boneheaded plays this year, bad throws, missing cut off guys, bad baserunning and just too many bad swings. Yeah I get that he has gotten better, but still, I think it's a maturity issue. I'm glad that Mollie sat him today.
  12. I was talking about Garza
  13. Some teams are dumb, Delmon Young fetched a pretty good young pitcher IIrC
  14. Again he's prime trade bait. Use him to get an SP or two. Have Kepler and Buxton hold down the Of and sign a FA corner OF type.
  15. You can't take at bats like that. That's a season crushing at bay potentially. Dude is having issues throwing strikes, and you go up hacking as per usual at the first pitch, a tailor made double play. Yeah Rosario had a hot couple weeks, but the league always catches up to these guys. He's a solid player and has a long career ahead of him, but imo will never reach his peak, thus worth trading for a high upside SP.
  16. Rosario is delmon young 2.0 Trade him. He will never be more than a solid regular who will never reach his peak for more than a few weeks at a time
  17. Don't care how much talent this guy has, his lack of patience and approach at the plate is terrible. Needs to be the first guy in the trading block this off season to get more pitching. Delmon Young version 2.0
  18. Are you not watching the broadcast? They just said he was hurt and hope to have an update after the game.
  19. Buxton Hurt. Jesus ****ing Christ, why can't we have nice things.
  20. It's almost like players, especially ones with youth can sometimes improve!
  21. Not everything is about your and Perkins ya know! Nathan was awesome, great pitcher and even greater guy, met him once at a bar in NYC, one of my all time favorite Twins players, he should definitely go in the Twins Hall of Fame, truly dominant before his injury, 1.87 ERA 11k/9, average of 40+ saves a year. I would consider retiring his number as he is by far the best Twins RP of all time.
  22. It should also be noted that the walks will likely come as well. Prior to this breakout teams had no reason not to pitch right at him/after him, now they are going to start pitching around him from time to time most likely, I trust he will adjust just fine. Perhaps the most encouraging thing about Buxton has been his 2 strike approach/hitting as of late. When he was struggling he was pretty much DOA the second he got 2 strikes on him, now? No panic, and he is actually getting clutch hits and HR's with 2 strikes. THAT is what makes me think that he has finally "got it" even with his nice Sept last year, he never looked like that with 2 strikes. Im convinced that the thing that seperates the good hitters from the great is how they hit with 2 strikes: Mauer does it, Puckett did it, and Bux is starting to! Exciting!
