  1. I would do Santana for Bundy in a freaking heartbeat.
  2. I would be all about it, I'm just not sure Abad could be enough to bring him back. You never know though, I was surprised how much we got back for Nunez for instance.
  3. I doubt the Astros do that. You never know though.
  4. Suzuki would be a significant upgrade for several teams in "contention" either as a starter, part time starter or a backup.
  5. Suzuki wouldn't clear waivers, Abad or Kintzler wouldn't as well. Santana would have some people claim him as well more than likely.
  6. I'd be upset if the Twins don't make any real moves today. I would be OK if they make one move. I would be happy/a little shocked if they make 2 or more trades today.
  7. Bundy would be at the top of my target list, but Baltimore really has no incentive to trade him. Especially for a guy like Santana IMO. I'd do it in a heartbeat if they made him available though, I just don't see it happening. That would be like the Twins selling low on Buxton. The O's already traded for a pitcher on a long term deal (Wade Miley) anyways.
  8. Perception is reality, if he is only getting 80 games behind the dish it's going to effect his value moving forward IMO.
  9. They also got a good amount of value from Nunez during his playing time here, they were able to then trade him at near peak value.
  10. Kintzler is far from a "proven" closer, so his trade value at this point is minimal. Hold onto him, hope he keeps this up for the rest of this year and next year and then trade him if you don't contend next year. id rather keep him for 2017 then have them Overspend on the FA market for a "proven" closer. Maybe the next GM will be different, but the Twins have always put the closer role on a pretty high pedestal.
  11. Or they believe in getting one of the most dominating pitchers this game has seen in a very long time...
  12. You should take your money and put it in the statfreak 1 on 1 baseball camp, I hear they are prime for a large expansion nationwide soon!
  13. That's basically the same argument as: Well X would be better than Sidney Ponson
  14. Santana is an overpaid #3, Gibson is a #4 who isn't that young any more. Those are the exact guys you need to be trading.
  15. The Twins should hire the new GM ASAP. (Ng!!!!) That would allow whoever it is to spend the rest of 2016 to get caught up to speed with the current roster, farm system and personal. That way, by the time the off-season comes around he or she will be 100% fully up to speed. The only thing is: I wouldn't want the new GM to handle the trade deadline for obvious reasons, ditto with any major cuts/pick ups the rest of the season, which is why you keep Antony around for the rest of the year. (He to will land on his feet somewhere)
  16. Honestly, its about time. Better late than never, Ryan clearly never should have come back the first time. Unfortunately these disastrous last 5 seasons have tarnished an otherwise solid career as a GM. I suspect Ryan will be fine though, while he may not get another GM role, I am guessing there would be plenty of other positions offered to him (if he even wants to work) Anyways, this is some of the best organizational news to happen in a very, very long time. Hopefully they clean house completely when it's all said and done and bring in a new regime.
  17. I have my doubts that Nunez can keep up his Ben Zobrist impression, however since he isn't a FA, the Twins should make sure to get good value in return, if you can't trade him now, try to move him in the offseason.
  18. I like Kurt, but this team isn't competing anytime soon. He likely won't be worth keeping around til 2018/2019. He needs to be traded now.
  19. My favorite Jepsen moment is when we traded a pretty damn good prospect for him, then the Rays ended up getting him back for free about a year later (After we overpaid him by too much) for the minimum.
  20. Technically a half season Think of how different an all star team would look after the season (vs in the middle)
  21. Nunez definitely deserved the spot, he has been solid at the dish and provided some nice flexibility for the roster. It's too bad he didn't get an at bat, hopefully he can get voted in again as a Twin? (hopefully along with Sano, Buxton and Berrios in the same year!)
  22. It's already over for them, the Wild signing Eric Staal was 1000x more news worthy and interesting than anything the Twins have done this year.
  23. You hit the nail on the head. People don't goto the ball game to drink, they have several better options all over the place. They go to watch baseball OR catch up with friends once in a while. Making the "bars" the centerpiece of the new things going on at Target Field is just so stupid and lazy. It's pretty embarrassing actually that the best idea a company valued at 500+ million could come up with is "Let's put in some more bars that sell $8 beers!" This team, front office, and entire business honestly just needs new blood throughout.
