  1. FWIW: Meyer threw a gem for the Angels the other night in AAA and got called up to the big league club today. This really could bite the Twins in the ass if he manages to reach even close to his potential for the Angels. Essentially we very well could have just given up a solid #2 to save a couple million bucks. (Santiago will be cut after this year hopefully)
  2. Fair enough, from what I saw everyone kept it light hearted (or at least to just using one word) I think the trigger finger was a bit to itchy, but again that's just my opinion, I know some people probably reported the thread etc which lead to the deletion.
  3. Pitched a gem the other night for them. $20 says he becomes a solid #2 for them for the next 4-5 years.
  4. agreed, it was lighthearted (sarcastic) and was getting some funny responses. It's a100+ loss Season, let people make a few jokes about it. Pretty harmless if you ask me, but then again, it's up to the mods, so it is what it is. I'm sure a few people complained, so while I don't agree, I will respect their wishes. Fwiw I wasn't trying to make a "bad" thread or anything, I just thought it was kind of funny/lighthearted at the time.
  5. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-the-mlb-standings-would-look-if-teams-stuck-with-whoever-they-drafted/ Not a good look.
  6. British series was better. This one was pretty good though, no huge complaints I guess.
  7. Agreed, the spacesuits bit was a bit much.
  8. That game last night was hilarious, Minnesota will be lucky to win 6 games
  9. My one word to describe the 2016 Minnesota Twins thread was deleted. Good lord mods, easy up on the censorship eh? That thread was in good fun, stop with deleting everything that can potentially make a person or two slightly upset.
  10. The only GOOD thing about this disaster of the Alex Meyer trade (Who I'm pretty sure will be a legit SP for the Angels in 2017) is that we can non tender Santiago at the end of the season, thus leaving a rotation spot open for May.
  11. Yup, I truly get a kick out of the "well the org clearly knows what they are doing" defenses I see thrown out here all season. The Twins are the worst team in baseball, over the last 5 years the Twins have been the worst team in baseball overall. This org does NOT know what they are doing, and they all will be rightly fired the minute a half way competent pres of baseball is brought in.
  12. This, 1,000x this. The Twins are the only org in sports who would continue to make these stupid mistakes. It's not just coincidence that the Twins have been one of the most pathetic orgs in sports the last 25 years as well. They get GIFTED guys like Liriano, Santana, Morneau, Nathan and Mauer and still can't even win a playoff game because they refused to open old man pohlad's coin purse to actually fill in a few missing pieces.
  13. The most insane part of this entire stupid team is the fact that freaking Andrew Albers is making starts for them. Andrew Albers, a guy that literally has no real future in this league, and certainly no future on a Twins team that by some miracle wishes to contend again sometime this decade. The minute they knew the season was going pear shaped they should have stretched May back out and given him a legitimate shot at the rotation, of course that didn't happen and likely will never happen, this team likely just ruined another legitimate arm. I can't wait for a new GM or president of operations to come in and completely clean house: Molly, Allen, Bruno? Gone. Bruno might be the worst hitting coach in the last 20 years in the entire league, what on earth were they thinking beyond "one of us! one of us!"
  14. Am I to believe that even if the Twins picked up a chunk of the contract, not a SINGLE team would have been willing to part with a PTBNL in exchange for one of these two players who currently are hitting pretty well? Good lord. See you all in 2020 when this team has a chance to compete again.
  15. Here is Mrs. Mark DeRosa modeling a suit: http://pegitboard.com/pics/t/7233.jpg
  16. You spelled REHHHHHHEEEDDDYYYYYYYYY wrong.
  17. It's far more painful to be a Vikings fan and it ain't even close. For one thing, the Twins have won TWO World Series, the Vikings are 0-4 in Super Bowls and have lost their last 4 NFC Championship games as well (2 of which were in the most heart-breaking fashion as well) Plus you have Walsh's kick, and the Zona Hail Mary as well. Not even close.
  18. Man, I just can't get enough of Suits this summer!!1! Week in and week out it's an all new and exciting Suit Speaking of suits, have to goto a wedding soon and need a new one. What kind of Suits do you all prefer? Black Suits? White Suits? Tan Suits? Brown Suits? Tight fitting Suits? Used Suits? (Cheaper)
  19. Yeah it would sure be a shame if they got Puig, he might ruin their shot at the number one pick next year and a top 3 pick for the following two seasons.
  20. Neil Allen most certainly is at least "part" of the problem, the Twins have some of the worst pitching in all of baseball, not one guy has "improved" under Allen's watch.
  21. This whole organization is toxic from top to bottom, I hope they lose the next 20 games so that they are FORCED to fire Antony, Molitor, Bruno and the rest of the one field staff. Glad to see they are well on their way to ruining Buxton and Berrios, just like how they ruined Hicks and tried to ruin Big Papi all of those years ago.
  22. Puig > Rosario Puig >>>>>>>>>>>Grossman bonds>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bruno Valencia would look pretty solid as a platoon guy these days....
  23. Well that should be the outfield moving forward (2017) which is what this is all about, right? A new catcher fixes the catching defense, and some sort of Polanco/Escobar/Sano/Dozier should fix the 2B/SS/3B side of the D. The INF defense just needs to get close to average IMO, since Sano and Dozier and both 30 HR type guys. The Twins really need pitchers who can strike people out, then you don't have to worry about defense as much! Funny how that works..
  24. Kepler+Buxton+Rosario in the OF will end up being one of the better defensively outfielders in baseball. Mauer is gold glove caliber at 1st base. Dozier and Escobar are "fine" at SS. Sano needs to improve at 3B no doubt thought.
