  1. It is interesting that the Twins have moved Castro to third base for defensive purposes. I recall a game last year where the Tigers put Willi at third and he botched about three plays over there. He's been more than solid over there for the Twins.
  2. Vázquez. Well somebody had to make the third out.
  3. They're just coming off winning two of three from the Dodgers. I don't know how poorly they are playing or if our beloved Twins are finally playing well.
  4. How about a couple more runs? I'd like to see Jorge get an inning today.
  5. Great outing for Maeda. Yes, it is the Royals, but he only yielded two in five innings against the flaming hot Braves in Atlanta. Only need two innings to finish the game and then have both Jax and Duran available for Wednesday.
  6. Who wants to pick him up? With essentially a 13-player position player limit, how many teams would be interested in a 40-something full-time DH?
  7. Trout's injury history doesn't rival Buxton, but it is pretty substantial.
  8. Question--Is the Royals SS Witt or Witt Jr.? Same for ex-Twin Wade or Wade Jr.
  9. No cheapie for Witt. He's going to be a really good player for a long, long time.
  10. Not great from our 3-4 guys to not get even a run in.
  11. I wonder if Kirilloff has had anything to say to him yet.
  12. Perkins is pretty good in the booth. Both he and Morneau are close enough to the modern players to know about their thought processes.
  13. Phil Cuzzi with two missed calls in one inning, one overturned by challenge.
  14. Hey, hey! Buck, AK and Kep reach and we get a run.
  15. Ryan left with a 3-2 lead. It was a save situation for Headrick and any subsequent Twins' pitchers who enter the game in a save situaion.
  16. Nice first for Kenta. However, I'd like to see some ten-pitch innings with the state of the bullpen today for the Twins.
  17. The two veteran pitchers have combined for two victories (2!) in 23 starts so far this year.I expect a battle of bullpens with the Twins probably not wanting to use either of their top two bullpen arms. Jorge López is back and might be called on in a game situation. I'm fearful of bullpen issues, but hey, it is the Royals.
  18. My thought this past week was that this isn't a team with enough power to go for the max slugging approach. Buxton and Gallo are slugger types, but they don't have anyone else who is really that type. On the other hand, they lack enough contact types and speed to string together many crooked number innings without homers. Sort of like being late on fastballs and ahead of off-speed pitches.
  19. Can anyone explain why the Saints have been scoring so many runs? My thought is that with all the major league pitching injuries, there isn't much good pitching left in AAA.
  20. Not much time until Polanco is 30. His birthday is tomorrow.
