    Probably as much or more of a dampener of enthusiasm than the Sano injury was Terry Ryan's diagnosis. Sometimes reality hits home more than the game. Both are going to be better, though, and that should be reason for optimism, if not for this season, then for things in general.

    I don't actually remember seeing a whole lot of optimism. For myself, I just want to watch some baseball. Preferably good baseball but that remains to be seen.

    Being honest with ourselves, we also have to acknowledge that this year will be used to figure out how many holes will be left to plug by this time next year. Of those mentioned above, I'd expect that Hicks is the only one still here, with a slim chance of Kubel if he does well. And of course the holes in the stands. Gotta acknowledge that as well.

    I'd say it's closer to fact that Twins fans tend to view other teams players more highly than their own.

    I do expect to see Kubel playing LF a fair amount, with Hammer as DH. I think Kubel does, too.

    Watching on FSN; at the moment Provus is interviewing Rob Antony. Antony just sounds really uncomfortable at public speaking. Not TK uncomfortable, but clearly he'll be happy when Ryan is back.
