  1. PERKINS: You don't trust me, Spock. SPOCK: In fact, I do. But only to a certain point.
  2. The Red Weed from War of the Worlds.
  3. http://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-confirms-evidence-that-liquid-water-flows-on-today-s-mars Liquid water, in fact. Now we just need to plant hops.
  4. I'm Complex; really mostly Imaginary. And the eigenvectors really start to hurt as you get older, let me tell you.
  5. Certainly counter-productive. It's probably real easy.
  6. They're all the square root of 2.
  7. First of many. Good job, young man! Also, if you watch Sano's triple, he almost does a Ben Revere somersault on the way to third.
  8. Maybe Tonkin sticks this time.
  9. Buxton's first homer, Sano's first triple. Bet that tie doesn't last.
  10. Twins up 6-0 in the second. Tigers starter knocked out.
  11. Sounds like a nice win. Good to see May is back. Now, rinse, repeat.
  12. Won't be able to watch much of this one, so go get 'em, guys!
  13. Texas-Houston 4-4 after five.
  14. An average professional ballet dancer is a far better athlete than an average professional baseball player. Ask Max Kepler.
  15. I think it's using that argument to draw a conclusion of sloth that causes credulity to need to take a few deep knee bends.
  16. I'm already pretty messed up, so the difference should be negligible.
  17. Somewhere between Reefer Madness and Cheech and Chong, I expect. BTW, I have never used marijuana myself, but if it were decriminalized and had a good delivery method other than smoking (brownies, maybe?) I'd consider it for pain management.
  18. This was over in the Vikings forum but makes for interesting reading on this side, too. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/06ba979bfd1647e5a4e92d09baa6e96a/brain-or-game-former-player-utecht-asks
  19. I'll write in a vote for Chief, who lined up a lot of the great group. This post brought to you by the words "Yes," and "Concur."
  20. I think we speak completely different languages. This is why communication is so difficult.
  21. Hmmm, the use of the term 'world-class athlete' mad me curious about how that term is defined these days. The track and field people seemed like a decent source. I would imagine these rules-of-thumb being applicable to skiers, dancers and martial artists as well as ballplayers, since they're actually pretty generic. http://trackandfieldathletesassociation.org/site/a-world-class-athlete-what-are-the-key-attributes/ I like this part: "We all tend to focus too much on strength development. There are certain minimum thresholds of strength necessary to be a world-class athlete. Instead of focusing on maximum efforts, focus on training the appropriate energy systems relevant to your sport."
