  1. If you're a GM with a good prospect at single-A, give FalVine a jingle and see what they say.
  2. Not at all. I just think it's important to keep in mind that when something out there is "too perfect", like an emerging revolt against Trump by corporate America (southern corporations, at that), it probably is. BTW +1 to Bark for his 'shoop.
  3. I'm truly sorry your mother didn't raise you wit no manners.
  4. I would not pick Olerud at 1:1, because if I get to know that he'll have the career he had, then I also get to know that Frank Thomas will have the career he had, and I want him more that year.
  5. I think that's an old veteran kind of move. The competitive fire will still dominate the decision for a young'un.
  6. Putting words in someone else's mouth is a standard tool in satire, and is valid in that context; but when the cues are taken away it becomes just Fake News, and I'm not a fan of that whichever side of the debate it comes from.
  7. Ah yes, the old protection racket. "It'd be a shame if a virus wuz ta ruin dis nice computa."
  8. It's about time for mid-season minor-league promotions. My guess is Rosario is headed for AAA, but because he's already on the 40-man, it costs nothing of importance to bring him to the big club as a detour, and let him pitch a few innings to give the beleaguered bullpen some rest. If he happens to pitch lights-out, sure, he'll stay up, but likely he'll depart after a few games and head toward Rochester instead of Chattanooga.
  9. Or, just have one of the Twins relievers throw you toward home plate and let an Astros hitter launch you there for free. We have the technology.
  10. Magic number is 107 to clinch the division, 100 for a wildcard spot. Just Win, Baby!
  11. Fun, but it appears to be a meme someone created, not an actual publicly posted message by the restaurant. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/2609/2930/1600/bigboy.jpg Other examples
  12. I like that approximately half of the video was devoted to his home run trot. I don't know what a wrist-flip swing is, but am I wrong in thinking that the swing is pretty far on the long end of the spectrum?
  13. I posted incorrectly earlier, and removed the post, but in case someone saw it, here's the correction: Wheeler was on the 40-man before the 2015 season. http://www.startribune.com/wheeler-enjoys-cool-moment-of-being-in-mlb/425336663/.
  14. You've seen him before? Or he just comes across as simultaneously entitled and needy?
  15. This problem went away when I switched back to Lynx.
  16. I'd like to know the country where that kind of behavior is acceptable.I'd like to know the country where tennis is so huge that unacceptable behavior is overlooked.
  17. Wow, I'd like to know the color of the sk- ... uh, never mind.
  18. Yeah, I could be persuaded Molitor heard what he wanted to hear during the pre-game period. And every profession has its yes-men...
  19. Aiming for a piranha-based rivalry with a new team.
  20. In absolute dollars Harper pays more. But Strickland's 3% loss dwarfs what the same percent would cost me; such comparisons don't get at the heart of it. It's at a level that it will do the intended purpose. People work hard at normal jobs and in today's economy are pleased with a 3% raise. I can't imagine that a 3% reduction won't get any ballplayer's attention either.
  21. The throw to the plate was that good - the second out was a play that made itself.
