  1. A catch like that on the run at the wall is never a sure thing. Unless Adrianza took a bad route, Rosario would have faced the same challenge with a tough angle.
  2. I want "able". / h/t to Brian, generous comedian that he is, for the straight line
  3. Moderator's note: It's standard for fans to speculate about alternatives. If you don't care for that kind of discussion there are other threads.
  4. The old rope-a-dope, suckering Peacock in for the killing blow of a ... passed ball.
  5. That's right, keep moving the goalposts...
  6. Chief sent a telegram stating that his wagon train broke down but they are back underway for their Memorial Day roadtrip.
  7. "Gentlemen, this will be a bullpen game. Peacock will start, and if it goes extra innings one of you other guys may need to warm up."
  8. Peacock had one, and you get credit for calling it.
  9. Made me Look.
  10. Good catch. Masterson hasn't been good since 2013, but this year an ERA under 3 at Oklahoma City suggests he's back to some degree of competence. If the Dodgers have control over him for the full season, I wonder how many other teams are offering a single-A prospect or two for him.
  11. That's just one game. He often has four. One game this year he had six. All he does is win. Pitch To Contact, baby! / He's my Adopt-A-Prospect (everyone should adopt someone) so I'll stand up for my guy where possible. This admittedly wasn't the best instance to try.
  12. I would be quite happy with less character and more wins.
  13. Before, it was about his response when things go wrong, now it's even at the start of the inning. This is a little too much like results-merchanting for me. We're probably in agree-to-disagree territory by now. Your groan-worthy pun was highly appreciated by this incorrigible punster*, however. * So don't incorrige me
  14. Very true. If he passed waivers (which they may already have asked but don't have to do for another 4 or 5 days I believe), we'd be in the enviable position of adding a guy that literally no other team in either league had room for.
  15. And why would we want to, anyway?
  16. Infield was playing in, as I recall. That would cut down the chances of success.
  17. Felix had a really nice game on Sunday May 28. He scattered 5 hits and just 1 walk across 7 full innings of shutout ball, consuming 96 pitches in the process. Oddly, he notched merely one strikeout, the sole downside to the day. He retired the side only in the 4th and 6th innings, but just one baserunner ever reached third base, and that was with two outs in the 3rd. So you can say he acquitted himself well with runners on base, a helpful attribute for any pitcher. The performance brought his season ERA down to 3.48, raised his win-loss record to 5-1, and was good for Twins Daily Minor League Pitcher of the Day honors. The bullpen gave up a couple of meaningless runs in the final two innings, which didn't mar an easy 9-2 win over Montgomery's home-made, from-scratch, melt-in-your-mouth, most-delicious-in-baseball, name-that-team-2003-contest-winner buttermilk Biscuits.
  18. The emotional oscillation wouldn't explain the leadoff double. I'm still feeling a "the rooster crows and the sun rises" explanation.
  19. Tepesch just got done stinking up the joint in Rochester on Friday. He consumed 75 pitches in just 3.1 innings, so he won't be available to eat any innings right away if he were called up. Find someone else, FalVine.
  20. His first inning was 1-2-3. He faced six batters in the second inning. Might a pitcher's composure look a little different when guys are getting on base?
  21. Wille Mays says "I was the best centerfielder of my generation!", if only in his unguarded moments.
