Along the same lines as a Scrabble rack, I speculated a while ago that he could team up with Etaoin Shrdlu as our double play combo of the future. He doesn't show much sign of ever being more than purely a singles hitter, and he struggled the first part of this season to be even that. But he seems to learn, so I hold out pretty significant hope for him. The glove is apparently a sure thing so he'll go exactly as far as the bat takes him.
Would have been a tough play, but I think there exist shortstops who get to the ball that drove in runs 6 and 7. I've been paying sporadic attention so I don't know how many other excuses I can come up with for our starting pitcher. Nominations?
Santana needs larger ears. His little elf ears just don't make him look like a serious major league pitcher and the batters are starting to notice I'm afraid.
You know this how? Some players are worth literally nothing on the trade market, due to contract value relative to talent. Seems to have been born on a midwest Air Force base, and went to both high school and college in Kansas. I guess you can pick up the necessary swagger anywhere. Not always by actually playing in NY though - that town has destroyed as many swaggers as created them.
Ladies and gentlemen, as of last night tied for third-hottest team in the American League, your Minnesota Twins! / Blue Jays riding a 7 game winning streak, Angels are winners of 2, no one else has more than 1. Fun With Numbers.
Hey, long-time caller, first-time listener. Say, I was wondering about that one play in the fifth inning yesterday, where that one Twins player did that thing and then that one Blue Jays player did that other thing. I'll hang up and stop listening.
