Geez, I was biting my tongue all day. Wanted to post something snarky like "I don't wish bad luck on a guy, but it would be hilarious to see him get two outs in his second inning and then not be able to keep a parade of runners off the bases." Too tacky, even for me. And turns out, I was too optimistic. But, if not hilarious, it still says something about trying to force things; sometimes it just won't go. "That's baseball." And yeah, now that it's happened, it's kind of a shame.

Eventually at the major league level, but not yet, IMO. A year at AAA please. And yes, as for the defense, either some things about his arm need to be improved if he's to stick at shortstop, or else the move to second needs to happen soon. -

The problem with this is, what if he doesn't stand there in CF and catch a couple of cans o' corn, but instead is forced to get on his horse toward the warning track and gets exposed for the center fielder he no longer is? Terrible way to send a guy off. I wouldn't risk it.

Doubtful. If they can't get a major league contract from the Twins, they might envision themselves as buried at Rochester barring some injury plague for the big club, and instead choose to sign the same minor league deal with any of 29 other clubs where they'll feel they have more of a clean slate. / I am not a pro athlete and perhaps do not know how to think like one.

The 4.5 million member NRA manages to send an emissary to each and every non-hostile politician's office anytime something having any effect is proposed, to remind them of their heft. Republicans congresspeople soft on gun rights can be primaried, for example. I don't see how grass-roots grumbling will replace the threat of losing one's elected seat. The hashtags will have to come to mean something similarly direct and threatening to any politician who ignores them. Probably concentrated effort on a half-dozen vulnerable politicians, and making sure to get results, would be the way to go. But expect concentrated effort in return by the NRA.
