  1. It's all part of the process. You are critiquing a Nerd Test. This confirms your Supreme-ness. It is now your world, we just live in it.
  2. The loss column is the only thing that matters, when you are behind.
  3. Proceed with confidence. We have no more to teach you, and you are no longer a Padawan.
  4. Kind of like the remedial course for tonight's forum?
  5. "I can't operate on this boy! He's my son!"
  6. Hey, it's not my first IQ test. I've been around the block. I routinely score 75 - that's out of a hundred, right? Pretty good I say!
  7. All right then. I'll wait up. And it being such a nice night, let's play two!
  8. Yeah, what a foul-up. When, obviously, the correct answer is that Tim Is Mike.
  9. This. Absolutely this. At best, at very best, it may give an indication whether you have a gas tank. But not whether there's any fuel in it.
  10. "High-Level Nerd. You are definitely MIT material, apply now!!!"
  11. I programmed back when you did it on the bare metal. Proto-nerd, maybe. Ur-nerd.
  12. We are in Rain Delay. This has been your Circus Boy Update.
  13. Yogi's 3 Laws of Motion. (I really don't think he's coming to my funeral, now.) 1st Law - Law of Inertia - If you can't get it going, how are you ever going to stop it? 2nd Law - F = ma - If you're going to speed up something heavy, you'd better slow down first or else you might force it. 3rd Law - For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction - yeah, you try managing a clubhouse sometime and see how freaking easy it is. As for the 81st win - I am happy to have my mid-season forecast now exceeded by 1, and hopefully by several more before season's end. I was a bit afraid to jinx it until we got past 80. After 90-loss seasons, this is a success.
  14. I don't know, how do YOU like the new name?
  15. "Always was something not quite right about that boy. Just not quite right..." http://www.kevinmccorrytv.ca/foghornleghornthesnook.jpg
  16. I say, I say, we have the makings of another Chicken Dinnah for tonight! / that's a joke, Son.
  17. Yes. Oh, and you would like the information, right now-like? Use the Messenger system (one of the icons at the top of the page that looks like an envelope) to Compose a message to administrator Brock Beauchamp for a request for that.
  18. Welcome indeed, and ditto about the need to win, one game at a time. Hopefully you've lurked at least a little, so that you know sometimes in game threads we veer a bit off topic - the metaphor is friends gathering in the left field cheapseats to enjoy the game and each other's company and root root root for the Twins. Ginger-vs-MaryAnn has become less of a staple now that some actual g-g-g-girls (for instance our thread-starter today) have joined in the fun. Nature abhors a vacuum (so does my cat) and if the game comments start to slacken then the side comments begin to dominate, but it's usually possible to get back to game talk if that's the group's desire. One thing we try to avoid is getting into deep discussion of broad issues like the team's direction and so forth - there are plenty of other forum threads here at the site for that. If you arrive in the 7th inning drunk and all you seem to want to discuss is Joe Mauer's salary now that he's in the middle of an o-fer, the ushers will perhaps see you out. Discuss what comes to mind, but don't take anything other than the progress of the game too terribly seriously. So strap in to your rocket seat for some rock-em-sock-em astronomy discussions, with a bit of game events thrown in too.
  19. One can spell out the trends only so many times... this is not Adam Smith's economy, but almost all proposals still boil down to it, from Bernie Sanders to Donald Trump.
