I like Wil Smith and Henry Me High A a lot too as Relievers (Jenrry Mejia) I too, wanted Smith back last deadline, but we settled for Cotts who is not too shabby actually! Quick assesment , I would think 80-90% of Twins fans and Twins daily members for that matter would be overwhelmingly grateful and positive with our New GM or even Apprentice GM. Even if Oswaldo within the next 2-3 years turns into an annual .275 hitter mashing 25-33 HR's a year while striking out 180-220 times! Things i would Change : Taylor Rogers would be in the competition with Abad and O"Rourke for that loogy type of spot (and should be the favorite) Hopefully May gets more of a chance to beat out Duffey for starting spot. ***Duffey could be in for a real sophmore slump !! (at least in ST and out of the gate) HOPE I'm WRONG on THAT! BTW, great job Jeremy

Ahhh Woa.... And you've been off Caffeine for how long? Amazing simply amazing use of time and space. The Brewers minor leagues has actually gone from bottom 5 (annually) to borderline top 10 tho. So they're not that bad off....on the MLB side of things....yeah , yikes

I'll take a stab.... #1 Jorge Polanco (twins need to keep his arb years ahead of him the best they can untill Dozier's are thinned out) #2 Jermaine Polacios (going on a limb here) #3 Tyler Jay #4 Stephen Gonsalves #5 Nick Gordon --- #6 Kohl Stewart (nice little rebound season, nothing spetacular) #7 Wander Javier (ITs sooo nice to see immediate dividends on ur investment!) #8 Engelb Vielma (starts out in FSL w/ Gordon but forces twins hand into Chatty promotion) #9 Daniel Palka (fixes the K issues and mashes RH pitchers better than ever before) #10 A.B Walker (Does NOT fix the K issues but he is what he is think of Chris Carter formally of the 'stros now on Milwaukee) close but no Cigar : Travis Harrison , Lewin Diaz, Lewis Thorpe, Mason Melotakis and A.J. Murray.

Thrylos's Top 40 Twins Prospect Countdown
shs_59 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
In The Levi MIchael Draft the Twins were targetting Both LHP Sean Gilmartan (solid player) and 2B Joe Panik (good player) in that draft. But they both got taken consecutively juuuust before the Twins picked and sitting there at #29 or so they took Levi Michael with their top 2 targets JUST gone. Such a shame. -
Baseball America's Top 10 Twins Prospects
shs_59 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Interesting i wouldn't have Park in the top 8 .... 9th at best and probably 11 or 12.... I just don't see the difference between Park and say Adam Brett Walker other than Walker K's a bit more and plays the OF where as park is a DH/1B.....they both lack some arm strenght and Walker is much younger..... so i don't see how you can rank Park so significantly ahead of A.B. Walker, who i have around 10th or 11th overall (that may be optimistic.) Beradino, himself said in the Chat the BA guys "made him" bump park up to 7th....so Beradino wanted him closer to or around 10. anyways..... i agree with that logic Jung Ho-Kang > than Byung Ho- Park.m maybe not by alot but theres not question whoes the better value/ player for me. -
Thrylos's Top 40 Twins Prospect Countdown
shs_59 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Thanks , somehow i missed that you came out with 11-15 Great news! :-) Also I like Melotakis a lot too Levi Michael? boy thats bold extremely bold, i'm glad all 30 teams passed over him in the Rule 5 Draft! B/c as you put it, i think he can be a great utility guy as he seems to mash Left-Handed Pitching! (needs to show he can defend better from ss tho in a pinch) 2B i'm confident in -
Maybe 2 years from now Nick But in 2016? NOT A CHANCE are the Detroit Tigers CLOSE to as Bad as you put it. all off-season moves: Justin Wilson STUD lefty Reliever Shawn Kelly STUD righty Reliever Jordan Zimmerman STUD righty Starter Daniel Norris STUD lefty starter Prospect > than Berrios for 3 of the last 4 yrs in rankings (acquired Norris for David Price at deadline) Al Alvila gone Saltamachia in They've brought in at least 1 other catcher Francisco Rodriguez NEW CLOSER They Still have KINSLER, MIGGY CABRERA and 2 Martinez's + Castellanos Simply Put IF Justin Verlander regains his 2012-2013 form they will easily win 78 -80 games, if not maybe push for the division ***The Royals, Indians and Tigers should all easily win 80+ games this year Makes the Twins have to be spetacular right away early and often and dominate teams like the White Sox all year long......easier said than done

prediction for 15-11 15-Travis Harrison 14-J.T. Chargois 13-Jermaine Polacios 12-Alex Meyer and.......hmmm Can't be A.B. Walker (19) or Taylor Rogers (30) i can't come up with one maybe Byung-Ho Park? -
I'll take a crack at it, just my instinctive observations.... Buxton - 80 Nunez - 70 Rosario - 70 Escobar - 65 Kepler - 60 Dozier - 60 A.B. Walker - ? 60 ? ( i really have no clue about Walker in this area) Sano - 55 Plouffe - 50 Mauer - 50/45 (but gets the 50 because of intelligence) Park - 45 Vargas - 40 (could be a 30?)

Top 10: Why to Buy the Prospect Handbook
shs_59 replied to Jeremy Nygaard's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sweet so is the closest thing to the PDF version the ebook for $10.99? I can't wait....... (awesome job guys, btw) -
don't burry him, wasn't he 22 years old last year? he's 23-24 and like many many of our guys was rushed to Big leagues a bit. Last year was a huge dissapointment no doubt, but all this tinkering with his mechanics (Bruno, ect.) Did him no good at all, (only further damaged him) Let him get back to what he used to be, (high K % , moderate contact/ low contact, high power%) and he'll find his own way.

Andrew Miller is another name that has been floated around the league in potential deals as well. But, i'm glad you avoided bringing him up Because with the Tigers recent Acquisition (Cessa) of LHP Justin Wilson {7th inning guy} (great slot reliever) That almost certainly signals the end of the Yanks' chances of Moving A. Miller in any such deal , at least for now. Btw A.L. Central off-seasons so far? #1 Detroit (wow , they've added RHP Jo Zimmerman, LHP Wilson, Closer K-Rod, CF Cam Maybin, C-Jared Saltamachia , 4th or 5th Starter Mike Pelfrey and an 8th inning reliever i think it was Mark Lowe?) + Remember they got Daniel Norris for Price last deadline ....Yikes Detroit is clearly going for the division crown in 2016 and should be the early favorites quite easily actually. #2 Cleveland (shedding Bourne and Swisher and actually picking up Chris Johnson is nice, also getting LHP Rob Kaminsky for Brandon Moss was even better. They've added a slough of OF'ers to help replace Brantley; Whose lost for half of next yr. -Shane Robinson being one of them. ---- Part of why I tend to like they're off-season is just by keeping their young rotation in tact benefits them because by far and away they have the best rotation in our division...Well, at least untill the Tigers had to get Daniel Norris and Zimmerman) #3 Twins (B-ho Park , J.R. Murphy , a soon to be named reliever, Runzler, Boshers, Palka, John Hicks....ect...) #4 White Sox (they've added a land-slide of Catchers , and Brett Lawrie, but have lost RHP Jeff Smardjza to the Giants) #5 Royals (despite winning the World Series, and already retaining Chris Young among a few others and bringing aboard Joakim Soria and Dillon Gee two nice pitchers) - I still rank them 5th, even with the young core in tact. Losing Zobrist , Cueto, Holland and Alex Gordon soon is going to hurt. However, I predict they'll still win the Central in 2016 over Detroit. Ok, now, Continuing a Thought with the OP of this thread, about Oswaldo Arcia. I disagree that the signing of Byung-ho Park signals the end of Arcia as a Twin, Arcia can easily win the other corner OF spot (Sano) with Eddie Rosario winning the CF Job , b/c i think its best for Buxton to be in AAA untill he gets red-hott or flat out earns a promotion. BTW, I would of been for trying to get Either SS-Orlando to Minnesota or OF-Oswaldo to Milwaukee but with the Winter meetings over with, that looks like just a fantasy land idea.

Michael Cuddyer , what a classy individual, what a community ambassador what a great family guy, and a team jokster/ prankster and Magician! I will remember most of his magic tricks he'd pull in Spring Training, and really probably all season long.... Also i will remember how he hit like .340 for the Rockies the very first year he left he Twins and got to play in those elements in that Ball Park. What a great Twins Player and a human Being! also ,VERY IMPORTANT for those that say Kennys Vargas is #40 on the 40-man roster......I disagree We can't possibly LET Kennys get away this early in his career, for the simple fact that the 2% chance he has to develop into the next Big-Papi David Arias Ortiz Imagine losing 2 David Ortiz' in 1 lifetime to a AL arch Rival Boston Red-Sox :-0 ;-( That would give us all nightmares for a lifetime!!!! even if its a .02% chance he pans out that well, we have to hang onto him for at least 1 more calender year

I like John Hicks as a replacement to Eric Fryer he's a younger MORE athletic version of Eric Fryer. Well, if all else fails the rest of the off-season The Twins accomplished 2 things 1.) More Strikeouts than EVER before (Park in the fold, and A.B. Walker rising, coming, Sano to Left-field and Oswaldo Arcia still around.) 2.) A Much better catching Corps; J.R. Murphy > than J. Pinto ,,,,, Hicks > than Fryer and Suzuki the strong #2 option. and 3) Garver / Turner in AAA or nearly ready at least for Rochester. thanks to Garver's solid AFL where Turner stunk it up, at least he has value defensively... Now let Taylor Rogers win the LOOGY spot over Dan Runzler and Roll with some combo of Burdi, Reed, Jones or even Meyer , Tonkin by mid-season and I will be very happy. And optimistic about 2016 and beyond.

MLB Rumors: A lot of interest in Plouffe
shs_59 replied to HitInAPinch's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
purely speculation on my part, going off what another poster pondered....a combo trade.... Trevor Plouffe + J.R Murphy + A.B. Walker (only if we sign Park) for Jonathan LuCroy of the brewers maybe we get Orlando Arcia as well <3 (Orlando is one of the best hitting young SS's anyone has ever seen in the minors, not named Correa, A-Rod, or Jeter)- 146 replies

They will not lose Levi Michael in the Rule 5 Draft... No way. he could not be "hidden" on a n MLB roster all year long.... What do the Twins see in JR Graham ? at this point, i think he could be removed. I personally, like the additions.... I don't think the Twins would of lost Landa in the Rule 5 , unless of course the minor league portion of it. The only guy i think might be as good as gone is LHP Corey Williams, and im not even too sure about that. who else would be taken ? Michael is not going anywhere

Did The Twins Give Up On Hicks Too Soon?
shs_59 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Assuming we get Park, i see the rest of the-off-season going as follows: Plouffe Gets dealt to the Angels to Replace, FA David Freese at 3B For RP Cam Bedorsian and a C+ prospect. And we sign FA OF'er Gerardo Parra for 3 yrs and $30mm opening day lineup: Dozier- RH/2B **Parra- SW/CF/RF** Mauer- LH/1B Sano - RH/3B Park - RH/DH Rosario- LH/LF *Kepler/ Buxton CF/RF** Murphy - RH/C Escobar- SW/SS (if you haven't noticed thats a lineup that might set the Strikeouts RECORD , especially if Oswaldo gets any regular playing time) Key Reserves: UTL Eduardo Nunez, C Kurt Suzuki , SS/CF Danny Santana I see one of Buxton or Kepler starting year with big club and the other in AAA untill June or so.... (unless Arcia mashes and keeps them both in AAA; NOT likely) By signing G. Parra the Twins have the luxury of playing him in which ever spot isnt taken by the prospect. -
Twins Trade Aaron Hicks To Yankees For Catcher
shs_59 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
my view (front office wannabe) Off-Season Moves so far: (scale of 1 - 10 ) {{KEY}} Examples include: Wilson Ramos for Matt Capps = 1 ; AJ Pierzynski for Nathan, Bonser and Lirano = 10. 1) $12.85MM winning bid for the Rights to negotiate with slugger Byung Ho-Kim *on a 3 or 4 yr deal at $15-20MM or less = 7 to a 9 *on a 4-6 yr deal at or near $ 30 MM or greater = 2 2) C - Chris Herrmann to Arizona D'Backs for high A 1B/ OF Daniel Palka = 8 (personally love this trade, best move in a while) 3) OF - Aaron Hicks to the New York Yankees for C Jon Ryan Murphy even with 3 or 4 years of control for Hicks vs 5 for Murphy = 3 (not a fan of the move, Hicks = the next Dexter Fowler , you saw the impact he had for the Cubbies post-season run) I've been saying for 4 years Hicks could be the next Fowler. Like Fowler, Hicks has a great OB% and eye also like Fowler it took him untill his 3rd MLB trial to have success then kind of take off, obviously this is what the Yankees are banking on, he's already as good as Gardner and Ellsburry are right now.
