  1. Actually, he got his 3rd win today, in his 3rd start. Getting all of my info from Milb.com. Today's box: http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?gid=2017_06_24_dwarok_dtwrok_1&t=g_box&sid=milb
  2. Correct, Jesus Toledo. 5' 11", 180-lb. LH from San Juan de los Morros, Venezuela. Not sure when he signed, but he won't be 18 until August 25.
  3. My Adopted Prospect just ran his record to 3-0. The 17-year old southpaw has yet to allow a run in 3 DSL starts, plus 1 relief appearance. He's certainly got a name to watch, with hopefully the arm to go with it.
  4. I've gotta jump on Jesus 'Holy' Toledo! 17-year old is slinging it in the DSL.
  5. Would LOVE to get Archer. Expect it would take at least Gordon, Romero & Lewin Diaz. Would be reluctant to give up Gonzo, Thorpe, Javier or Wade, which could gum things up from the Rays perspective. Maybe one of the Wells' or Melotakis would sweetin the pot.
  6. My offer was E. Rosario & Gordon.
  7. I can't see the Twins surrendering any of the AA pitchers. Maybe one of the Wells, (Lachlan or Tyler), but no one who could potentially help this season.
  8. E. Rosario & Gordon for Gray & Doolittle. Do the A's hang-up or consider the offer. Granite is ready to play LF and lead-off. Polanco, Escobar, Adrianza & Vielma are enough insurance at SS until Dozier leaves and/or Palacios is ready. That doesn't even take Wander Javier or Royce Lewis into account. I like Gordon, but he's worth more as a trade chip than as a rostered Twin.
  9. Polanco is a heady, steady and reliable baseball player with as much BYTO as anyone on the club. He may never match Altuve or Cano's numbers, but he will be as solid as any 2B in the game over the next decade plus. He is one of the last players I would trade on this roster.
  10. They could probably have him for a song. If they agreed to take Hellickson and assume both of their salaries. I'm not suggesting either would be particularly effective, but they could help stabilize a staff that is currently in turmoil.
  11. Time for my regular Rosario complaint. Harmlessly hits a 1st pitch slider from a guy making his second start of the year, with known control issues. The guy has consistently shown an inability to play smart baseball. Don't give me the Tony O & Kirby swung at bad pitches argument. They routinely hit 50+ points higher than Eddie, and produced runs. I have no idea if they're ready or not, but at this point I'd love to see what Granite or Wade can do in LF with regular AB's.
  12. Archer's on my fantasy team, but geesh!
  13. Time to let Pressley work things out a Rochester. Hildenberger, anyone?
  14. I'm rapidly tiring of Rosario's 'swing at everything' approach, and was searching MLB rosters for a veteran someone might want to unload for some salary relief. I'm coming around to the idea that Granite might be our best option. If he can come close to duplicating his .349 career OBP, those table-setting skills could be exactly what we need. Kind of our own Adam Eaton, with less pop & way less K's.
  15. Almost done with Rosario! They were trying to walk him and he wouldn't let them. I'm about willing to put up with Grossman's defense a in LF and recall Granite for defense.
  16. People are gonna hate on the contract for the simple fact that he hasn't produced nearly as well since he signed it. In his 1st 7 years prior to the contract, he was a career .327 hitter with an .888 OPS and multiple Gold Gloves. In the 7 years since signing the deal he's a .287 / .777 hitter with every glove made entirely from cowhide.
  17. As I recall when Falvey was hired last winter, he was lauded for being heavily involved in the developmental process of Cleveland's pitching corps. I can't help but think that he would love to have an arm like Greene's to put into the system and see what they can create.
  18. No problem with pulling Buck for Grossman. But batting Escobar for Vargas was gross, Man!
  19. I'm actually a huge fan of Adell. I wouldn't be upset if the Twins made a reach for him at #5-#10 money. Of course all would depend on who they would be able to follow up with. I guess that's where multiple scouting evaluations, cross-checking & due diligence come into play.
  20. My read from Falvey's comments, is that signability is going to have a large impact on the choice. I don't know what any of the top 5 candidates are seeking in as bonus money, but it sounds like we want to have flexibility for picks #35, #37 & beyond. "It doesn’t just come with Pick 1. We need to be thinking about how we can accumulate as much value as possible." It could boil down to who wants to be the #1 pick and a Twin the most. I'm sure they'll have pre-draft deal worked out with their selection. I expect they'll come up with a max $ amount for each finalist based on their individual talent, potential, risk & leverage. Whoever agrees to sign at or furthest below their respective 'Twins' value, will be the choice.
  21. Who's to say Wright or McKay are 'safe' anyway? Because I have nothing better to do, I checked into the Twins last 25 drafts, and came up with a list of collegiate pitchers that the Twins have selected in the 1st (regular & supplemental) round; Marc Barcello Travis Miller Mark Redman Ryan Mills Adam Johnson Aaron Heilman Glen Perkins Matt Fox Matt Garza Carlos Guttierez Shooter Hunt Kyle Gibson Matt Bashore Alex Wimmers Luke Bard Tyler Jay Of course, the jury is still out on a couple of them. But the misses sure seem to outweigh the hits. Perkins was an All-Star as a reliever, Redman was actually selected once (they were required to take a Royal in 2006), and Garza has been at least serviceable, more so than Gibson. Not much to hang 25 years of scouting and development on. Bottom line for me is that Hunter Greene has the best arm out there. Let's see what the Falvey/Levine regime can bring to our developmental process and take the leap.
  22. A consensus? I have no idea, but there are plenty of scouting experts with much more insight than any of us who have bestowed him with that very label. I didn't make it up. He has 100+ mph velocity, with a textbook delivery from a 17-year old arm and mature beyond his years make up. No, his secondary offerings aren't nearly as polished as the couple of candidates who are 4 years his senior. Both of whom, top out at least 5 mph below Greene on the gun. On top of that, he has the athleticism and stroke to project as a 1st round pick at SS right now if he chose never to throw another pitch. Again, I'm not making this up. That is the consensus. I honestly think the biggest mark against him is the fact that no HS RH has ever gone #1. I'll be very disappointed if we don't buck that trend.
  23. I'm still a Hunter Greene man. Hopefully all this McKay & Wright chatter is just a smokescreen to bring his bonus ask down. Is there risk? Sure, but the kid is a generational player. You don't pass them up. Period!
  24. Clearly, the Twins' braintrust values my opinion. Of course now the bottom will drop out on both Vielma & Gordon.
  25. I say create a platoon then, when it's necessary. My point is, it's not necessary now. Vielma should be in AAA getting Gonzalez' innings and Gordon should be focusing almost exclusively at SS. As was posted, he's only 21 and already more than holding his own in AA. The overwhelming consensus off opinion seems to be that both are better suited to play at SS and Polanco at 2B. Why waste valuable learning time preparing for the alternative?
