  1. Agreed a good exercise just in case. Very difficult to choose, pre-trades might also resolve some the problems. But this covid fiasco has put to rest any idea of this. It might be hard to keep the teams that we have.
  2. Very impressive! Especially for 41-50, can`t wait to see the others. Although we have only the 27th pick out of the top 50
  3. I feel sorry for FAs next year there won`t be the $ thrown around that was this year. If players like Snell refuse to play, IMO some people are more apt not to go & watch him. I know if I had a choice to see a TB game, I`d choose a game where Snell wouldn`t be pitching
  4. It was tough to lose to CLE & split against KC but we should make up some ground the next few days. It was tough to lose Rosario but Cave & Rooker are filling in very nicely, hopefully they continue & Snell & Wood would turn around
  5. I agree we have to have players that we need to continue to develop & also be available in a possible trade this year. So we need those players mentioned Balazovich, Lewis, Larnach and Kiriloff to be on that list. For extra catchers I`d go w/ Jeffers & maybe Rortvedt
  6. Very interesting! It`s a fine line in tweaking a delivery w/o losing it`s effectiveness. Hope Berrios will find it! Feel sorry for pitchers like Arrieta which are forced into a pitching style that work against their potential talents. Archer w/ the Bucs is bashed a lot & hated because of the trade that brought him there. The problem isn`t w/ him but the pitching coaches who try to alter his style. He was a rising star, he lost a lot of ground & years of improvement under them.
  7. Baseball is a great all american family & community sport. Baseball has rallied our spirits in time of crises greater than this virus. Twins Daily has kept Twins baseball alive even during the off season w/ FA , prospects & trade prospects & during spring training. Baseball has taken some knocks through the years & to most it isn`t the top American sport. This year after the shut down, the Minnesota Zone Coverage there was no Twins talk no trade rumors, no FA, no talk about up coming draft it was all Vikings w/ once in a while Timberwolves or Wilds, it was like the Twins were dead (we watched past videos to try to keep the memory alive like at a wake). Many Twin fans were very unconcerned, their attitude was if the "Twinkies " don`t play it`s no big deal.We need to come together & try to resuscitate our sport, there had been a lot of excitement about the Twins this year but if they don`t play or shortened because of lack of enthusiasm it will take even a bigger blow. IMO the biggest problem isn`t the disease but the narrative. Another thought, IMO the owners are taking a loss, these successful people could invest their money else where & make more money but they chose to invest it in our community so we can have a MLB team & I appreciate it. If there is no owners there is no team & w/o a team, the players can`t play & make big $. Not saying that the players don`t have a gripe but this isn`t the time
  8. Great article! Piggy backing makes total sense to me w/ this rotation, this schedule, prospect depth & FA next year. Last year piggy backing worked well w/ Pineda & Perez, Pineda was slow in getting warmed up (his #s weren`t so good in the beginning) & Perez didn`t have what it takes to go long. This year IMO I think we should piggyback Hill also, he`ll need time to stretch him out. It`d be a shame if he gets hurt before the play-offs, that`s when we need him so I think that we could use even more arms. If we look at the ERA for each time through the order, it`d show the same thing & Maeda would be much higher like you said because of his vulnerability of the long ball ETA
  9. Couldn`t agree w/ you more! But it still would have been nice to have an extra draft pick. Being the way things are, it probably hurts less. It`ll be interesting to see how thing works out after round 5. We`re in a strange territory.
  10. I believe we shouldn`t be too excited about Hill jumping into the rotation right away. Where we really need him is in the post season. We need to limit his innings, maybe use him w/ openers or have him close out some games when Rogers is not available.
  11. Agree, Cruz should at least make honorable mention
  12. With all due respect, I`m tired of reporters who don`t care about baseball telling us we need to be satisfied w/ baseball from other countries & give up our 2020 season. They are more concerned about low risk athletes getting covid 19 than high risk Twins fan residents in nursing homes. That`s where our concerns should be not trying to keep covid 19 from low risk players so they can develop some resistance to it. I agree w/ reporters which report that we need baseball. There is an increase of suicides, drug, alcohol & domestic abuse because of fear, loneliness & hopelessness. I believe no one should be forced to do anything if anyone doesn`t feel right about participating. & at the same time responsible areas should not be penalized because of irresponsible areas (SF, NY, NJ, BOS) & be forced not having a 2020 season. Again I`m not saying not to have precautions, I`m saying not to look for reasons not to have it & look for reasons & solutions on having it.
  13. I`m happy you turned down the Berrios trade, our objective in this game is to win it all. I like Snell but I hate to give up Rosario short term & Balazovik long & short. I like Syndergaard but we don`t have anyone to replace Buxton, losing him would hurt a lot. So that leaves option Boyd or Wood. What we give up in either trade is very doable. I`d question also LA motive in trading Wood so that`s why I chose Boyd. I like Gordon as a trading chip but we could throw in Bailey also, he doesn`t have a full season in him (I think the game probably has that baked into it) so he`s at the point of highest value & should be dangled out there. Kiriloff or Larnach are great prospects but are expendable & should be considered to try to get an upgrade in SP quality. I hate to trade away promising pitching prospects. Great work keep it up!
  14. I think "cool" has different meaning to different people. To some it means "hip", to others "unshakable" so some people may have different ideas on what this list would look like. All things considered, I agree w/ your list. Donaldson makes a very cool Viking chieftain
  15. We have to see why there is a trade deadline & if the reason is valid we need to prorate it, if not abolish it. But thinking better of it we do need some deadline to protect us from a team last minute buying of a championship
  16. We seem to do better than average as far as late round drafts go & more than our share of early round flops. Dobnak wasn`t even drafted, hopefully he`ll continue to be a success story. There is too many intangible factors, which the Twins do a fantastic job in evaluating. Factors like character, teachable, responsible & drive, while many highly talented kids lack the intangibles plus lazy
  17. The electronic strike zone will help. One great thing about catchers is that they will tackle this as they do w/ all challenges w/ grit. Pray that they won`t get the virus & if so it`d be mild.
  18. Thanks for this article it gives us something to look forward to. Milwaukee surprises me but I understand your logic. Bucs now w/ new coaching could surprise people even though they traded more key pieces
  19. I didn`t mean to be so mystical, I was kinda kidding. Insight would probably be a better word. I was fascinated by 2 baseball FO movies that came out about the same time , "Money Ball" w/ Brad Pitt & "Trouble w/ the Curve" w/ Clint Eastwood. I enjoyed both of them but they seemed to contradict each other, Money Ball, that favored analytical data was against gut feeling & Trouble w/ the Curve that favored gut feeling was against analytical data. I tend to believe analytical data but there are a lot of intangible variables that need to be considered especially when drafting. Many talented high prospect never pan out even though they look good on paper. Yes there are injuries but there other reasons that are intangible like character, being teachable & attitude. We need both even though bias & favoritism can sometimes be misconstrued as being gut feeling
  20. I don`t get it either. I`d still prefer to start sooner in like AZ & eventually liberate home games as states allow. Regions I believe teams should be liberated approximately the same time & have some attendance. I disagree that all teams should have to wait for the few that`ll be delayed
  21. I like the fact that we`ll be facing more NL central teams than AL eastern teams & that there won`t be a restructuring of leagues.
  22. Totally agree, hopefully our scouting will pay off where we can find some gems & try to sell them on our system. Twins: $4,528,600 ($5,448,200) bonus pool, isn`t a lot but at $20K a pop that can land us quite a few prospects if they are willing to sign for that. About the minor leagues, is it for sure that there won`t be any?
  23. Who calls the shift, is it Polanco? as normally the SS controls the infield. Or is it a coach? The determination of a shift should be changed. Donaldson`s experience & ability should help & coordination should be worked out
  24. Twins had only a 4 pitcher rotation in `65 so they had a 3 man rotation when Pasqual was out? They were work horses back then. They should have gotten another starter. WS aren`t always to the best team. It`s to the hot team at the time
