This is a clown show just like last night. Who open the asylum to sell off the Twins. Falvey actions just made a lot of teams happy, except the Twins. Hurry up & lock him up before he burns down Target Field. He must think you get a boobby prize for the worst team in baseball. Are the Twins not eligible for the draft lottery next season because they haven't made it to the playoffs for years? Has this been all for nought next year or the year after? Brace for the worst, Target Field will be empty. After all this, Falvey has done very little to really help the Twins in this mess. But we can't blame Falvey because we are in a rebuild, Don't expect much for years. When you want to sell a car & after you show the car & make an agreement. You don't strip down the car, replace the expensive tires, battery, and stereo with cheap old ones before you sell the car. Or you buy a new house & someone else selects the paint, carpet & some accessories. Why don't the new owners get to choose how to change the team? It's obvious that Falvey has no idea what he's doing. Could it be that the next owner is as dumb as the Pohlads? And let Falvey do whatever he wants,
-
I was hoping that the Twins weren't going to tear this down because I still have faith in the core & didn't trust Falvey to trade them. But I'm not surprised because Falvey was running out of excuses, so hey, it's not my fault, it's the core. I was hoping that Falvey & Co.would be gone so the team could run correctly. Since they are still here, they aren't going to make in the playoffs so just as well blow it up, like I've said before but I'd rather someone else doing the negotiations. How long will it take before we have a team that can compete again? Depends on how fast the crew that comes after Falvey can clean up the mess & put things back in order. IMO, it'll be a long time.

I targeted moving RP (Jax or Duran) & an OFer (Wallner- Bader) to PHI, but the return we got was much less & less relevant. I also targeted moving RPs Stewart & or Coloumbe to LAD, I'd be happy if we at least got #3 catcher Hunter Feducci & a promising MLB-ready LHP. Then, I'd upgrade this deadline from failing to D+. I was really banking to have my sox blown off with a nice relevant return from Duran instead of losing that trade.
-
Makes sense, Duran & Bader were good fits for PHI, but what MN got back were underwhelming, overvalued, far less valuable & won't help MN much if any at all or any time. Just what MN needs another LH OLFer. Falvey helped out PHI lot more than MN. Falvey is long overdue to be out the door. They probably worked out a post MN deal while they were finalizing.

You care nothing for the Twins so what do you know about the Twins except what you get from big market social media? Big market wanted Duran on the cheap; they got it. If Falvey can't get a good deal then wait until we get someone who can. You complain that the Twins aren't spending enough, then turn around & you say they shouldn't spend the money to keep Duran. Maybe Duran would get $12-15M in NY but not here. If we bring someone in who can get a good deal on Duran this offseason, then News Flash, we don't pay his salary. Yes they stunk last season, they stink this season and they'll continue to stink under Falvey. If you like Falvey, great you can have him. You hate Twins, fine, But don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong.

Pohlads are stupid but they spend more than the other teams in our division & more than half the teams in MLB. The Pohlads won't give me enough money is one of many excuses that is propagated on social media by Falvey & his minions to persuade the masses. It's not about how much money you spend, it's about how you spend it. Throwing it away in FA doesn't help the cause. They gave too much $ to Donaldson that other teams didn't want to pay, they threw a lot of $ at the Paddack extention to sit around in hope later he'd show something instead of nothing, they wasted $ on so many worthless FAs we didn't need like Gallo, Accepted salary dumps like DeSclavani & Margot. We won a playoff series not because of Falvey but inspite of him. A big reason was because the players that fell into his lap. I never said that we got nothing of value. What I said was what we got was far below of what we should have got for a impact high demand elite closer that did nothing for present situation. If I have migraine headache (fragile in SPs & catching) I don't take medicine (prospects) that might or might not help years from now. You take medicine that you know that will alleviate that problem (promising young MLB-ready players). I've had my eye on Tait for a while now, & I can tell you that he's years away from MLB & his talents don't line up to the hype. That was the best he could get (he's too incompetent) so he hopes that he'll workout, but hope doesn't cut it.

Are you seriously being ignorant? These deals & others fell into their laps; all they had to do was basically to say yes. He never initiated any of these deals. Even this Duran trade they did not initiate, they just sat back & waited for the best deal for an elite impact closer in demand & if they couldn't get a deal that significantly helps the team, then you say no. But he said yes! And yes this Anti-Falvey has been there for a long time. Many ignore his blunders & many hope that he could change (me included), some, like Falvey, hope everything miraculously will work out but it hasn't. We are reaping what he has sown. To be clear, I do not dislike Falvey; I was one Falvine's biggest supporter. But I don't agree with how Falvey is running this ship.

I'm not the one who moved the goalposts. What was important before is no longer important & has been substituted with HRs & OPS are important, nothing else is. What these good coaches had they never valued. They replaced them with terrible coaches that didn't refute the FO philosophy. Instead of firing these bad coaches they promoted them. It's no secret, just a difference in philosophy.

We wonder why the players are so flat. Maybe it's because this FO does nothing to make this club better & at times makes it worse. I'd be totally pissed if I were a Twin & this FO traded away an elite closer & got nothing that could help us now or in the near future. That they helped the other teams more than our own. Please, someone else take him so we can take advantage of him via trade. No wonder he's so well-liked in the league.

Tanner Swanson was the main one who developed Jeffers & others, but he's long gone. James was our hitting coach who individually helped many of our good hitters, but he's long gone. Joe Ryan gets a lot of his development outside the organization. How much has the coaches helped these players & how much is it them doing it on their own & natural talent? How many player that don't make it here but leave here & they become stars? I don't doubt that the pitching coaches are helping but what about them learning their positions, the fundamentals & etc. Where are the catchers we have developed since Jeffers (Jeffers at best is average defensive catcher when he's not worn down)? Where are all the 1Bmen & DHs from all the big bats we drafted high? And there seems a lot who falls through the cracks.

I'm sorry, I can't get over this. With all the time & demand for Duran, is this the best he could do? If this is the best he could do at the deadline, I wouldn't trade him, I'd be too embarrassed & quit & let someone who knew what he was doing take over. Social media should roast this guy, but they'll praise him for giving PHI such a good deal.

You were generous. I picked them if they were lucky 80 wins (& that's not hindsight). Not because the core was bad but because Falvey & Co is that bad. And they'll continue to be bad until Falvey is gone. They do practically nothing to help this club in the offseason & the deadline. They normally do more harm than good. & then the team has to suffer through the season. When will the Pohlads wake up?

Houston May Want to Trade For Correa - Should We Do It?
Doctor Gast commented on LA Vikes Fan's blog entry in LA Vikes Fan
Correa is at his low point, That's exactly when you shouldn't trade him. But leave it to Falvey to trade him. I wouldn't trust Falvey to switch my old underwear for new ones. -
Thank you Fire Dan Gladden. Dan Gladden has nothing to do with the condition of this club.

I have to find something better to do. Following this team with Falvey at the helm is torture. Why couldn't we have Milwaukee's GM instead?

We have to officially rename our team to MN Rockies or Twinkies. I would never buy this team now if I had an extra $1.7B lying around. Why get all these prospects if you can't develop them?

Super disappointed! Someone should have told Falvey that it's the seller who's supposed to get the deal not the buyer. There's no hope for this i***t. What a joke! How are we suppose to get anywhere with this joker at the helm? Move over CO we are going to race you for being the worse team. By the time they get him out of here he'll put us into Twinkies II realm.

If you actually read my text & have an understanding beyond analytics, it's clear that Salazar is a clear change of scenery player. Clemens was 29 & had several seasons with a ton of regular MLB ABs, with several teams & had very unimpressive stats. He had horrid stats this year before coming to the Twins. I would not have taken a chance on him. For players, it's tough emotionally not to get an opportunity & not get the playing time you deserve because the players ahead of you. Again, he is a very good MLB defensive catcher (for your information, catching is a prime position if not the most), he got a stint of regular playing time in the MLB last season & hit .320/.387/400. His poorer-than-usual hitting is a sign that he's ready for a change of scenery.

Great catch by Keirsey, He leads off the 3rd, Twins can really rally. -
IMO, we could have done better. I imagine that all buyers called the sellers. When HOU called, I'd offer Paddack to them. HOU has some injuries & Paddack is an upgrade over some of those they are using, you can't have enough pitching & Paddack can be an elite BP help when needed. Paddack is from TX & would fit right in. If you want to save even more money, you could have thrown in Vazquez. Vazquez has postseason experience & is very familiar with HOU. My target would be Caezar Salazar. He's their #3 catcher behind very good catchers Diaz & Caratini. Salazar is a good defensive catcher & a good LH hitter. He has played very little. he had a good last season but has only caught 5 games this season. When given an opportunity, he could shine. He could be our backup catcher now & in the future. IMO, Salazar is Jimenez's ceiling 5 years from now if Twins can develop him. And if you love lotto tickets so much you could get a lotto ticket besides. We have the leverage so why not take advantage of it.

We aren't rebuilding; we need players who can contribute to our areas that are fragile NOW, not 2 or more years down the road. Why give up players that impact us NOW & in the future, for players who can't? What some people can't understand- We are in the driver's seat, we are the one who can dictate what our demands are & we need to exercise that position. If the buyer would rather pass on their need to compete instead of meeting our demands. Then we go to someone who will, if there is nobody, then we keep them, plain & simple. We have the leverage, use it. I don't care if big markets think they have the right to our players & we have to bend to their demands.
