  1. I love that next year we will be able to see who voted (or didn't vote) for who.
  2. Yes, he was one of my least favorite Twins.
  3. What is your age: 36. Grew up in the Mitchell SD area and currently live in Mitchell where I am a software developer. Married, with 3 kids. One 6 and 3 year old twins. How long have you been a Twins fan? As long as I can remember. I have always been a fan of the game and grew up watching the Twins. What have a couple of your best Twins memories been? I remember watching both the 87 and 91 series. Those are great memories to recall. I fondly remember going to watch games in the Dome with my family. As I got out of college, some friends and I would drive to KC to watch the Twins. It was great to watch outdoor baseball. The Royals were crappy and there were a ton of Twins fans down there. Good seats were easy to come by. Numerous times we would sit in the front row behind the Twins dugout. There was one game when Radke got roughed up early. The Twins brought in Joe Roa to stop the bleeding. Roa got roughed up too (like 7 ER in 1 inning). When Gardy pulled him, we were heckling him pretty hard and we were really giving it to him. We know he heard us because he was glaring at us all the way into the dugout. When Target field opened, my wife and I were at gate 6 waiting to get in. Tony Oliva was at the gate for the opening. They opened the gates a little earlier than they should have. A member of the Twins staff stopped us and said we could go in any further yet. So, we got to hang out with Tony for a few minutes. He was polite to talk to. At the time, my wife was pregnant. Being the gentleman I am, I was carrying all of our stuff. This included a pink handbag. I was not pleased to be carrying this bag. She assured me that no one we know would see my with this bag, except, that FSN had cameras and filmed us in talking to Tony Oliva. My dad was in the hospital at the time and my mom called me and told me I had a lovely pink bag. Now, my brother and I both buy a small partial share of season tickets and we take our families up to Twins games. Who have some of your favorite players been? Kirby Hrbek Morneau Mauer Santana Stewart Jones Koskie Dougie M Mack Gagne Gladden How long have you been reading Twins Daily (or were you following some writers before Twins Daily)? What brings you back to Twins Daily? How often do you stop by the site? Seems like I have been coming to this site a long time. I used to read Gleeman's blogs and then found TD. I think it was about right when it started. I stop by a couple times a day during the week. I like the level of fandom here. The people here are passionate. The depth of knowledge here is incredible.
  4. Just a pure guess here but I am going to say KC. He could DH or fill in for Hosmer/Moustakas.
  5. Is the Comp A pick protected? I would think it is not, but I am not sure. Does anyone know the answer to that?
  6. Thank you mods! This is truly a great site for Twins fans. At the end of the day, all of us is here for one reason, we love our Twins!
  7. If this trade does take place, I am pretty excited to see the minor league depth that would also be added in June with the 1st pick, as well as the competitive A balance pick and second round pick. If they can deal E Santana for a possible top 100 prospect, they would have added some nice pieces.
  8. I haven't been this excited since Dollar Dog night at the Metrodome, but was sad to find out they had a two hot dog limit and they weren't dome dogs.
  9. I can only hit refresh so many times....
  10. If you would have told me yesterday that the Sox and Nats made a trade and the Sox got this return back, I would have said they traded Sale. I would have never guessed Adam Eaton would produce this return.
  11. I am surprised that I have heard nothing about E Santana. I thought with the poor FA market and the high price of controllable pitching, his name would surface in a rumor or two.
  12. Adam Rubin ESPN Staff Writer Baseball writers vote to make ALL Hall of Fame ballots public beginning with the 2018 class. No more anonymity. The full list of voters and their choices will be released seven days after the official announcement of which candidates are selected, beginning in January 2018. This does not take effect for the class to be announced next month. Voters, one last time, can optionally reveal their ballots. I love this!
  13. If we were to sign Bautista, we would lose the 2nd round pick, right?
  14. I would assume the Dodgers view Urias as untouchable, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I am sure the Dodgers realize it will take a haul for Dozier so raise the bar high. Then I wouldn't back down from my ideal return of DeLeon, Alverez, plus one of Buehler/Sheffield/Lux/Barnes. Its not that I wouldn't like Bellinger or Puig, I would just rather have pitching. In this case the Dodgers keep their best young pitcher and hitter, but the Twins get a haul in terms of pitching and maybe a wild card.
  15. Thanks for all the input! This answers a lot of my questions.
  16. For the cord cutters out there, is sling the way to go for FSN? How about football? Any one use sling or vue for local networks? My local CBS, ABC, and Fox tower is about 70 miles away so a small indoor HD antenna isn't the best option. I may try a bigger attic mount HD antenna. I am just curious that the rest of you use.
  17. Does anyone know of a list or link to players eligible to be selected in the rule 5 draft?
  18. I like this more than what the Dodgers could do. I don't mind what the Dodgers could offer, just more of a fan of Giolito. I would do this in a heartbeat.
  19. I like the fact that he is working with Barry Larkin.
  20. I really hope his wrist injury was the reason why his production was what it was. I think we all knew the strikeouts would be there. I just hoped for a little more out of him.
  21. I tend to agree with most of this. One area that I have seen in most of these blueprints rarely involves Tonkin and is hoping on one of the young guys to really step up in spring training. If no one does, I would not hesitate to give Tonkin a month or two and let one of those younger guys really try to separate themselves in AAA. If one of them does, I have no beef cutting ties with Tonkin. We know what he is and I don't think he will be anything different.
  22. We will obviously will never know but I wonder what strategies would have changed if Lonnie Smith would have scored. If I remember correctly, the Twins did load the bases in the bottom of the 8th and hit into a line drive double play. That was just an all around great game. Both teams had chances. One other play that doesn't get talked about as much as it should would be Gladden's double in the 10th. That was as good of base running as it gets.
  23. Rogers had a really good year out of the pen. He looks like a very viable piece for the future.
  24. They have yet to announce me as a candidate. They must be getting tired of receiving my resume daily.
