  1. I would have no issues if they let Tonkin go. I have said that in the past. However, keeping him as the long man for a little while doesn't really do him any good. He isn't a long man. If they keep him, I would want to see him in a role where he can pitch one inning, but his place on the team is going to be the long man. That being said, I think Tonkin goes and Wimmer stays.
  2. Its a nice thought, but no. We have plenty of young guys here who I want to see before I see Nathan again. We can bring him back like we brought Hunter and Cuddyer back this year.
  3. Earlier I thought I had read that Bukauskas was going to be destined for the bullpen. Anyone know if that has changed? I like that he is having a tremendous spring and his numbers are impressive.
  4. Breslow was added to the 40 man. I haven't heard a corresponding move though. Can they put May on the 60 day DL now? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/03/twins-to-add-craig-breslow-to-40-man.html
  5. Whether they get shelled or not, I would really like to see what Berrios, Meija, and to a lesser extent, Duffey can do with a full season work load. They have all been up and had a taste, now it is time to stop jerking them around. They need a full season in the rotation. Yes, some starts might be bad. I want to know if they can figure out how to pitch at this level. I want them to be able to learn how to get batters out and when things are going the best for them, how to make the proper adjustments.
  6. I think eventually Buxton takes over as the leadoff hitter but I don't want him penciled in there now just because. I want him to start the year off in the 9 hole and force his way higher in the lineup by having good ABs and learning pitch selection.
  7. Van - I was really excited when pitchers and catchers reported to camp almost a month ago. Then I was really excited when they started playing spring training games. Now I just want the season to start already. Is there anything you can do to speed things up so Opening Day gets here faster? Thanks! I will hang up and listen.
  8. I thought I read that they were SRO tickets which wouldn't be that bad of a deal.
  9. In related news, I almost hooked up with my hot neighbor last night. Almost.... Well, we said "Hi" to each other.
  10. I see Gordon played 2B. Any idea why he wouldn't play SS instead of Benji Gonzalez?
  11. Crap I thought he entered camp in the best shape he has been in since he said that last spring training.
  12. This story might hurt the market for his game used jerseys.
  13. Weiters to the Nats for 2 years, 21 million.
  14. Has Mauer come out with that quote yet this year? If he has, I missed it!
  15. I usually don't care too much about arbitration in general but I am really rooting for a guy like Betances. I enjoy watching him pitch. He is just down right nasty. I know he will get a big pay day when he hits free agency. I just think the 3 million the Yankees offered was low based on his production and what 3 million can get you in the open market.
  16. I thought I had read somewhere that the Yankess (and also other teams) try to exchange numbers and get deals worked out before the arbitration numbers need to be submitted but once they are submitted all talks end.
  17. Are they going to limit Barrios' innings at all this year or is he supposed to have a full work load?
  18. Handshake deal in place to sell the Marlins for 1.6 Billion. Damn that is a lot of money. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/02/marlins-sale-rumors-handshake-agreement.html
  19. I would like to see a college arm step up but it is hard not to like what Greene has to offer. Does anyone have any info on Shane Baz? Could he be in play at 35/37? If they take Greene do they try to get college arms in those spots?
  20. Didn't he start off the season on the DL? I thought he was injured in the first part of the season.
  21. I hope he doesn't get claimed. I would love to see what he can do when he is health and has a full year of getting used to the game as well as the culture here in the states. I fear a Tampa or KC type could take a flier on him and it comes back to bite us.
  22. If Tonkin is the odd man out, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. However, if he is the odd man out, I would have liked to see him in a one inning role. He is not really a multiple inning pitcher and IMO was out there in multiple innings too often. That is my only gripe in regards to how Tonkin was handled.
  23. At least now the promotions department can schedule the Brian Dozier bat or jersey day. I was at the Eddie Rosario jersey day last year with my kids, except Eddie was in Rochester.
  24. What is your twitter name?
  25. Rosenthal is saying the same thing. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/01/twins-dodgers-at-impasse-in-dozier-talks.html
