  1. Im all for woking as a group to soeed up the game, but a 20 second pitch clock will negatively affect perfomance of some who are more comfortable with more time between pitches. I think that should be done over a 3 year period so players arent making big adjustments to their game to compensate. I do agree that we need to speed up games. We need to do it at a slower pace...
  2. There's one less Darvish suitor as the Astros aquired Cole. Of course the Yankees may step up their efforts to sign Darvish as a result...
  3. Isnt this the 6th largest free agent signing in team history? Hughes Santana Nolasco Castro Willingham Reed
  4. I think this signing confirms an 8 man bullpen
  5. Buxton's personality us one that would sign an extention through his arbitration years and is nice enough to maybe add a 1 year of free agency to that extention. Depends on hiw badly he wants to play closer to home. I think once your approaching 100 million with him he is not the type of person to push for the extra dollar as much as a great environment to be in. He is Minnesota nice from the south.
  6. Heres a thought. Offer Darvish a 5 or 6 year contact. 25 million per year first 4 years and 10 million in year 5 with 20-30 million signing bonus depending on 5 or 6 year.
  7. Anyone want to break dowm a range year to year of possible extention scenarios? With comps. Now is the best chance for a discount. If there is no discount from the player for the security whether it be an extra year or three of team control or lower AAV, sign him if Buxton makes no consessions continue to go year to year.
  8. Neat breakdown. Good stuff.
  9. By my standards my prospect ranking system is the most accurate one out there and I ranked Gordon the 2.6th best prospect in the system. All kidding aside, Bernardino had a set criteria for his list and he is excluding other criteria. And that gives room for discussion. We could make a list based off of highest floor and that would give us different results.
  10. I can see the front office waiting till next offseason ro address this unless they decide to rework last year of contract into an extention to afford Yu or another starter. If Mauer gets 170 hits, .360 OBP, 30 + doubles and has gold glove calibre defense then he should be resigned to a 1 or 2 year contract with option. He is basically Keith Hernandez now and Keith was a borderline HOF that I dont think got in. As far as money goes 8 - 10 million per season works for me. Maybe incentives that can push it to 12.
  11. I think they could still sign Belisle as good as Busenitz was last year his peripheals say he was just ok. Plus if Rodney has control problems early in the year, Belisle can step into closers roll short term. And we can always carry 8 pitchers for a minute too and injuries and stuff. Too much risk aversion to not sign him if we can get him fir around 3 million give or take.
  12. I just go with the flow on offense with him. He does need to hit for average though cause the scouting reports all say he doesnt have elite power....but 25 HR is more than enough with a .280 average.
  13. Is he slower than Kepler at this point? Maybe he should be a RF instead and Kepler in LF.
  14. A 5 year 14 to 16 million per season should work.
  15. If I remember correctly the previous administration tried to get an extra year or two tacked on. But Dozier wouldnt sign for that because that would affect his chance at a big payday.
  16. An accomplice also helps the pertetrator get away with the crime. By sitting on the info you are an accomplice. You are helping the person get away with the crime. Its pretty straightforward. Now if Nucj found iut today...probably not much he could do...but 2 years ago ...really? Unless its not a big deal and the girl is embellishing alot....
  17. I am saying this one thing and then shutting down for a while from this site to cool off. But if Nick knew about it and did nothing, that makes him an accompliss and a coward. Like I said earlier i dont know anyone involved but i dont come here to deal with this type of stuff. I come because its a simpler happier place to be....
  18. When she told Nick, she came forward. If its a serious offense, someone needs to stand up.
  19. My opinion is only based on the story posted. I do not know any of the people involved.
  20. Im not buying this either. I can see a scenario where Sano playfully grabbed her wrist and let go when she pulled back. She may have felt pain but from what I can tell is that is too public of a place to scream for what seems like 10 minutes to go unheard....and unheaded...
  21. Cobb needs to get his ego in check before he signs. 20 million per season expectation is about to cost him a spot in Chicagos rotation. There are plenty of options and time to oull off a signing or trade if Darvish doesnt sign. I think if you connect dots the Twins include Sano in a trade for Archer, then sign Napoli to replace power lost, let Escobar handle 3B or sign one. .....
  22. I agree, in that i like the moves. I think we should get Darvish. Payroll should be able to go up. We are in a competetive window of around 4 -5 years and would like to see us advance in the playoffs for a change. I am also in on a trade likely to occur. I think i read that the Twins floated Sano around in trade talk and including him in an Archer trade and a Napoli signing to offset some of the power loss makes sense. That would give us a super rotations which is better than a super bullpen....Archer and Darvish would make around 34-36 million per year combined or a 17-18 average for each. Though i am a fan of Sano so i will sit back and see how the offseason plays out. Though if we do not land a big starter then the offseason will be a let down. Even if we do knock out the rest of our winter list of needs.
  23. Sano isn't going to be at 3B for too long. Depending on his workouts, diet, and health he could be there 1 to 3 or 4 years before heading over to 1B or even DH on a full time basis. Which is fine because he will still provide value at 1B or DH as he has monster power. The question then becomes, will he stay healthy enough then?
