  1. Yeah Hemingway isn't writing much anymore either.
  2. I wonder who took the Diplan phone call. With an hour left on the clock... I'm hoping that Falvey or Lavine are not spending time wrapping up the Diplan deal.
  3. Thanks Van for the invitation. I really miss the Joe M Conversation.
  4. Angry wouldn't be the right word for me. Disappointed would be appropriate. I have no idea what is happening on those telephone calls but I try to imagine being on the other end of the line. If I'm the GM of the other team and the Twins are calling me about player X. I'm going to ask for the top of the prospects. The Twins have Lewis, Kiriloff, Graterol and I'm going to ask for them. Maybe player X is Larnach value but I'm going to ask for higher because I know the Twins have better. However, other teams that call me, may not have a Lewis or Kiriloff type talent to ask for. So the top of that pile is more in line with the value of player X and I can't hold out for more because there isn't more, besides seeing if the Twins or Astros cave with those really high end guys. In a nutshell, weather I'm right or wrong, I can see a scenario where the Twins can be handicapped in this process because they have better players available to ask and hold out for, when other teams may not. I wouldn't be angry because I can imagine a lot of things at play but yeah... Disappointed for sure. They need to support this team and we had a cannonball roll through the bullpen in July.
  5. I think it would be fun to see Bauer pitch 3 times against anyone in a Twins uniform. Favre is the PTBNL in the Romo deal. No one is supposed to know this but I intercepted the information.
  6. OK Twins Your Move.
  7. If we find 3 guys just like you... we win.
  8. By the way, Of all the names discussed thus far. The only one I have a strong objection to is Milldaddy.
  9. Nine of Twelve Sconnie Swainzag I'm not able to suggest a Minor League Forum representative because I don't spend enough time there to be comfortable with a personal choice. But I will vote off one of my three (not sure who) for a suitable minor league forum representative at the consensus of others better informed to make such a selection.
  10. If game thread output becomes a stronger consideration. nine of twelve becomes a stronger consideration. I think Sconnie could become a more active participant in game threads. Just because he hasn't been doesn't mean he couldn't be. I've been sold on Swainzag from the get go. Regardless of the game thread activity criteria. I still think it's a good idea to make one of the three choices someone who is Minor League Forum inclined. Someone who really likes following whoever prospect #24 is.
  11. Once a trade is complete. The team trading the player can no longer take phone calls in an attempt to get a better package in return. In order to convince the team to stop taking phone calls... you have to provide them a reason to stop taking the phone calls by offering a package that they want or believe can't be eclipsed. Of course it's an overpay. An overpay is what it takes. We have improved our bullpen.
  12. I also like Hosken Bombo and nine of twelve.
  13. He used to throw vets into those situations. So, It's different.
  14. I was thinking Penny Marshall but you could be right.
  15. If they are hitting... maybe it shows that garbage pile of dung offenses can do that?
  16. Maybe the marketing department could come up with a promotional campaign around the "Possibility of Death". It Might sell some seats.
  17. Yeah... You can't watch the game but you can choose a side in the epic battle of broadcast rights.
  18. It says so... in small print on the back of the ticket.
  19. My Mom was awesome at snagging 100 MPH liners with her bare hands.
  20. https://abcnews.go.com/Sports/young-girl-hit-line-drive-foul-ball-houston/story?id=63364982
  21. Now Detroit... They might be the worst team in baseball.
  22. Ok I'll just say that it's a lot more complicated than they played a bunch of crappy teams. Everybody is capable of beating everybody on any given night and if a team goes on a run like the Indians, Giants and Cardinals are currently on... I'll tip my hat to them and I really don't want to work that hard trying to diminish their accomplishments. They are winning baseball games and I give each team full credit. I'll just say a month from now when you look at the hottest team in August... It'll probably be 3 teams other than the Indians, Giants and Cardinals.
  23. I seriously can't decide. At gun point... I'll go with the dropped popup.
