It's shameful that people can't talk about race like adults. While the title of the article was a bit "link-baity", the rest was excellent. Nowhere did Berardino demonize the Twins for not having enough black players. It's just something that's a problem, and is worth talking about. Eight teams opened up 2013 without an African-American player on their 25 man roster! You can tell it bothers Terry Ryan and he would like to see it change. It's not something that has happened by design. I do find it crazy that there isn't an African-American on the coaching staff, mostly because Jerry White seemed great.

This move makes zero sense to me. Hernandez is not a prospect. Hendriks has already proven all he needs to in AAA. Just let him work it out in the majors while we're not contending. I know that's a common expression, but it's terrible. The Special Olympics is an awesome event with great athletes.

I like. Haven't heard much about him lately, so this is nice to hear.

"though they have ten pitchers on the DL" !

Glad someone made the we-don't-have-an-ace joke before I had to. I am so happy today is finally here. Maybe the Twins can pull an Astros today.

Colorado Springs. Denver is just an hour up the road, though.

I don't think he belongs in the HoF, but should be respected as one of the elite defensive SS of all-time.

I'm with you there. Dozier has the ability to be a good 2 hitter, but I want to see him prove it in the majors, first.

Ha, thanks for correcting that. But if he got 15 wins, that would probably mean the team is really good! I would absolutely love to see Mauer in the two-hole. He's absolutely perfect for that role. After two terrible seasons, maybe Gardy will be willing to change his strategery.

That's a bummer. He's my favorite prospect to follow, I hope he gets well soon.

Awesome stuff. I wish I could be there.

Sorry to hijack this thread further, but I had to respond to this. I would absolutely love to see Correia prove me wrong. I want to look like an idiot after he wins 15 games with a sub-4 ERA. Just about anyone here would feel the same.

Five innings of spring training baseball.

I totally agree with Terry Ryan here. He'll probably end up getting extended, and I couldn't care less if he has a little more negotiating power.

I put about as much blame on Gardy for how terrible the last two seasons were than I give him credit for the winning years. Not much. Still, I don't think he's a good manager. It's too easy to get in his dog house and I don't like his managing style. Batting terrible infielders 2nd, etc. I won't cry if he is let go after this season.

Only about $1800 away from reaching their goal.
  18. raindog
Rejoice! I'm pleasantly surprised they sent Butera down.

    (It was sarcasm)

Yep, we need more grit on this team. That's what we've been lacking. Thank goodness for Correia.

I'm so glad to be excited for something to watch this season. Even if the Twins are terrible, it'll be fun to see what Hicks can do. I hope Arcia comes up later this year.

    Thanks for transcribing! Pretty interesting.

This site is owned and moderated by some cool folks. Their standards for commenting are pretty, pretty lax. Everyone is free to disagree, snark is fine. Anybody that's been banned has been overwhelmingly negative or combative. They all seem to get warnings first. Usually a ban is for three freakin days. How is this a problem? Our first-amendment rights are not being infringed upon, guys.

Very happy to support this. I look forward to my Miguel Sano signed baseball and an excellent film.
