  1. Sano catches a difficult pop-up. Worth the price of admission
  2. Really thought Buxton was going to get there and catch it . Good effort!
  3. Strike em out - throw em out!
  4. Not a good start - Perez throws a lot of DPs - maybe Dozier should have been running
  5. The easy answer is any park where Hughes is pitching is considered a hitters park. Lefthanded hitters have it a little easier. Any guesses on how far Gallo will hit one tonight? Hopefully we keep up but Perez usually pitches better at home than on the road.
  6. Catching up on the topics - yes we have our share of grackles here - we used to go to the Sonic Drive-in frequently when my daughters were smaller and there was always a one-legged grackle there scavenging for dropped food. Bruce Springsteen? He is OK but I am no fanatic - not like I am of the Twins. Speaking of the Twins, I will be going to the game tonight down here so I hope we fair better tonight than the last couple of days. How about a Buxton HR? Last year when I went to the game we beat the crap out of Texas so I hope that is repeated tonight although with Hughes pitching it most likely will be the other way around.
  7. Sanchez is doing his best Gibson impersonation.
  8. Hello Old Friend Last Place! Of course we are just a game out of first so not all bad. We have trended down this season - sweeping the first series, winning the next series, losing the next 2 series and now getting swept in this one. Maybe we can start the cycle over by sweeping Detroit.
  9. This game has sure spiraled downward. Anyone have hope for a comeback?
  10. ....Or on 2nd thought go Eddie!
  11. Buxton is due - let's tie it up!!
  12. C'mon Fidel - drive 'em in
  13. Thanks Chief!! Hard to tell without actually watching.
  14. How many times have we not scored a runner from 2nd on a hit? Unfortunately I don't get to watch the games only following on gameday so not sure the reason - slow/poor runners, tentative 3rd base coach, hard hit balls?
  15. Extra base hit for Joe!! Reverse jinx is working. Keep those references of poor playing coming! I'll start - Buxton has a 5.75 Strikeout to hit ratio.
  16. Its early yet, but the off day has not appeared to help our slumping offense.
  17. Yes, he is stretched out enough and pitching well enough to be called up. Gibson and Mejia are on notice - always good to have competition. I am just hoping he does not repeat the performance of Liam Hendriks with us. Pitched great in the minors but could never translate that in the big leagues in several opportunities. I had to look up where Liam is pitching now - apparently with Oakland. Had a good year with Toronto in 2015 and Oakland last year. Bring Berrios up and have some patience with him.
  18. Alright - making this exciting!
  19. C'mon Dozier - lets get things started here.
  20. Has someone checked Buxton's bat for termites? Maybe there are some large holes eaten in it. What are the rules on bat diameters - can he bring a tree trunk up there?
  21. Wow, this is like the inverse of last season - a lot of timely hitting and patience in these 2 games - I know very early but this feels good. I am following the game thread and the ESPN update here at work in between work so it is always a race to see where I can get the latest news first. Much better descriptions on here so thanks for all the posts!
  22. Have to get a bat on the ball Buxton.
  23. Santana was saving the strike outs for when he needed them...
  24. Enjoying reading this post - I have been following the Twins for 40+ years - despite the fact that last year was the most embarrasing, disheartening, losingest Twins season I have seen, despite the fact that no one picks us even to have a chance at a wild card, despite the fact the expert scout on SI mocks our every move and this new executive team still seems to be acting like the old one - this is baseball and anything can happen. Hoping for the best and that this team can overcome all that and give us a season to enjoy. I went to Mississippi State and our girls just beat Connecticut last night so I am still on the high of anything can happen. Sometimes life surprises us and we have to be ready.
