    I don't understand how Manfred can say that realignment will cut down on travel. If after realignment MLB sticks with a balanced schedule (which they went to in 2023) where each team plays every other team in at least one series: how is this cutting down on travel? The Twins would still have to make multiple west/east coast trips, no matter what the divisions look like.

    The Jays can really hit but I think they'll struggle in the postseason when they'll see every team's best pitchers. But I have no idea who will win the AL. Maybe the 'Stros.

    This games reminds me of a quote from Earl Weaver. It was basically: "Bad play causes teams to lose more games than good play leads to wins."

    Agree 100% with #2. Teams would have to go back to building up pitchers to pitch more than 5 innings. As an mlb.tv subscriber I'm often sent a "state of the game" survey, and this is always my top suggestion for improving the game.

    Fly ball fell just in front of the RF, and Outman had to hold up to see if it was caught. Fitgerald hustled to 2nd on the relay. It wasn't really a double.

    Supposedly Nashville and Salt Lake City are the leaders in the clubhouse to get the expansion teams -- one "eastern" team and one "western" team to balance things out.

    Good post, with the key point for me being that it has taken the FO until recenty to pivot to a different philosophy. The success (at least during the regular season) of 2019 was a long time ago.

    Agree there would have to be a floor and a cap. But they can't be so far apart that the Pirates can still spend $100 million on payroll and the Dodgers can spend $300 million. I have no idea how you get the small markets to agree to a certain floor and large markets to agree to a certain cap. And of course the players don't want a cap at all. It's a mess.

    I lost count of the mistakes the Twins made in that inning. I guess that's why they are 3-7 in extras.
