  1. Keaschall with a brain cramp there with no tag up.
  2. Tigers were sitting on the change-up that inning. Ohl is going to need another pitch.
  3. Twins playing .667 ball since August 2nd. 🙄
  4. Put it in a glass dish, cover it with Saran. Comes out great.
  5. Interesting note from Jeff Passan (ESPN): "The Red Sox were willing to part with a number of high-end prospects to land right-hander Joe Ryan from the Minnesota Twins. But that wasn't expressed until the deadline was nearing, and the Twins were so deep in other talks to disassemble their roster, the prospect of moving Ryan had lost appeal."
  6. This "new look" bullpen is the "I can't look" bullpen.
  7. Alan Roden is a lefthand hitting LFer. Seems like we have a few of those already.
  8. FWIW, trade grades: https://www.si.com/mlb/jhoan-duran-trade-grades-phillies-address-roster-biggest-need
  9. Yankees lose to the Rays. BoSox can tie NYY with a win tonight.
  10. I think you're on to something. I'll be doing fan load management (FLM) for the entire Yankees series in August.
  11. This link lists the internet radio broadcasts for all MLB teams. https://tunein.com/radio/MLB-Baseball-Radio-c16230079/
  12. Yes, if that team streams their games. This is the Mariners' radio broadcast: https://tuner.bonneville.com/live/KIRO-AM
  13. Folks in this thread might enjoy this book; two guys try to visit 30 ballparks in 30 days: https://groveatlantic.com/book/i-dont-care-if-we-never-get-back/
  14. I was wondering about that too. If you believe the internet: "In baseball, a runner is not required to retouch first base between pitches if the ball is alive. However, they are required to retouch first base when the ball is dead, such as after a foul ball, a timeout, or if they are forced to return to their original base due to a play. Some runners may retouch the base between pitches as a habit, to measure their lead, or to reorient themselves, but it's not a required action."
  15. Announcers can get in via a separate category for "Contributors." Vince Scully got in this way.
  16. Good question. There were never enough pitchers here. Also nothing against slowpitch but you had to be at least moderately athletic to play fastpitch.
  17. In NY State it seemed like not a lot of young guys were joining leagues after the 1990s, so the leagues kind of aged out.
  18. I played in fastpitch leagues in the 1980s-1990s in the Hudson Valley. Having enough pitchers for a league was always a problem. It's a great game -- nothing like beer league softball!
  19. Kind of off topic, but Joe Jackson had 12 hits in the 1919 World Series, committed no errors and threw out a runner at the plate. Folks should read "Eight Men Out" to get a complete look at the 1919 Black Sox scandal.
