  1. It's almost impossible for a small/mid-market team to be competitive if they can't produce pitchers out of their system. I agree Falvey hasn't done that.
  2. 11 players have hit more HRs than the Twins as a team have hit. Mookie Betts already has 5.
  3. I think Provus is excellent on TV. I could do without some of Justin's homer-type commentary (like referring to the Twins "powerful lineup").
  4. Paddack really laboring. Already at 40 pitches, with a limit today of 80, according to the TV broadcast.
  5. Agreed we don't have elite hitters. Maybe Royce and postseason Correa are the only ones.
  6. A funny clip if you haven't seen it: https://www.si.com/mlb/2023/10/04/twins-fans-bombard-reporter-after-playoff-win
  7. My bad. There was a runner only on first (not first and second).
  8. Why wasn't the infield fly rule called on that? The batter should have been called out.
  9. Apparently Pretzels Getzein had a pretty odd curveball back in the 1800s. From Wikipedia: During his career, Getzien drew acclaim for his curveball. Getzien's version of the pitch was sometimes referred to as the "pretzel curve."[5][8]Sporting Life described Getzien's unusual delivery as follows: "In delivering his 'pretzels' 'Getz' faces third base with one foot in either corner of the lower end of the box. Bending the left knee slightly, he draws his right arm well back. Then, straightening up quickly, he slides the left foot forward with a characteristic little skip, and, bringing his arm around with a swift overhand swing, drives the ball in at a lively pace."
  10. Ramirez DHed today. His sub at 3B (Brayan Rocchio) made two key errors in the 9th to let the ChiSox come back from 3-2 down to take a 5-3 lead. Game just ended.
  11. Reference to the original Star Trek series. https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Quatloo
  12. I was walking into a store today and a clown held the door open for me. It was a nice jester.
