    The old 5-6-3 double play.

According to Baseball Reference, Hunt led the NL in HBP every season from 1968-74, with 50 HBP in 1971. He had 243 HBP lifetime!

This game has a chance to finish in two hours. (From the start -- hopefully not two hours from now.)

It's gotten hard to tell what exactly the Twins' offensive strategy is, but I don't think it's "work the count." They are 21st in MLB in walks. On the TV broadcast they have said many times that the Twins are the worst team in MLB at hitting breaking balls. It might be our hitters just aren't good enough, no matter the approach.

Great place to see a game.

The good news is Duran will be well rested for the Pittsburgh series.

This is the best team the Yankees have had in several years. They are third in runs scored, first in OBP, first in ERA, etc. And Garrett Cole hasn't pitched yet.
  8. UpstateNewYorker
Same here. The game is blacked out for me on MLB.TV and TBS. I'm doing a self-imposed blackout on NY sports talk radio for the next three days.

I think we can rule out Larnach being sent down when Lewis is activated.
  10. UpstateNewYorker
He did get a 10-game sticky glove ban this season.

Ober's ERA for the season is up to 4.75.

This article isn't going to make anyone feel better but it does give some insights into the Diamond Sports debacle: https://www.si.com/mlb/diamond-sports-bankruptcy-regional-broadcasting-rob-manfred

    100% agree.

Yes, and every NBA player never fouled anyone. 🙂

The Nats are really letting him take his lumps tonight.
  18. UpstateNewYorker
Great to see Buck hitting the ball to right and right-center.

Remember when Jeffers was hot? That was awesome.

AK and Julien don't look like the same hitters this year.
  21. UpstateNewYorker
This is still Cleveland's batting practice before the game starts, right?
  22. UpstateNewYorker
The Guardians have out homered the Twins 48-46 on the season. Pretty shocking.
  23. UpstateNewYorker
Okert can't get right handers out. His OPS against righties is .890; against lefties it's .523.
  24. UpstateNewYorker
Unfortunately some owners and the players' union do not want a salary cap. The players especially do not want to limit salaries for the big free agent superstars.
  25. UpstateNewYorker
Yeah, I think the exact quote from Gibson to McCarver was: "The only thing you know about pitching is you can't hit it."
