  1. I’ve said it more than once and I’ll say it again…Joe Ryan cannot start game 3 in a 1-1 series.
  2. If they think Buxton can play CF, he needs to be starting in CF. Don’t understand why anyone would think he’s not better than MAT. if buxton can’t run then he shouldn’t be on the roster. He’s never been a good pinch hitter and I frankly don’t want to see him in that role. If he’s playing defense, he’s an insanely valuable hitter. If he’s not, I dont want to see him playing. Simple as that for me.
  3. Even against the A’s, they simply can’t score with Gray on the mound. So damn weird.
  4. No, not to prove a point. If Ober struggles then it's a lot less likely they write him in as the 4th starter. I don't see how anyone could have faith in Ober potentially opening the ALDS if they reach the next round. It seems like Maeda has already been penciled into the bullpen. With the way the bullpen looks as of today, it's a mistake. They need to have the best 4 starters lined up, but they're pausing because Maeda had success 4 years ago
  5. If they move on then Lopez and Gray would be in line to pitch games 2 and 3 in the ALDS. If the opening series goes 3 games then next series goes 4, 1, 2, 3 and then Twins have a decision to make if ALDS goes all 5 games.
  6. So basically what you're saying is that if Ober struggles, which we're all worried he will, Maeda can come in quick and relieve him. Why not just go with their best 4 starters? I think we can mostly agree the 4 starters we feel best about are Gray, Lopez, Ryan Maeda (in any order). With Paddack and Stewart activated, this bullpen is stacked. Maeda will simply not be needed unless someone really struggles. Paddack and Varland can pitch multiple innings if something like that happens. Twins are planning for a situation that might not come up and they're planning this because Maeda pitched great out of the pen 4 years ago. That's insane. You start your best starters, Ober is a level below Ryan and Maeda right now and has no playoff experience. And again I must end this with stating this only matters if they move on from the WC round, but if they don't none of us will care about this scenario.
  7. I really do like Ryan, but I think Maeda is the better pitcher right now. It’s not by a lot, but he’s better. In my opinion, the bigger issue is having Ober in the rotation. Ober is a huge step below both of them right now.
  8. Thumbs down this post all you want but I’d love to see Ober struggle here. Seems they’ve made the decision on him going into the playoffs as their 4th starter and potentially opening the ALDS could be a disaster. Twins seem to forget they sent him down a month ago cause he’s been so bad. Don't get me wrong, I like Ober, but I when you have Maeda and a chance for Ryan to open a potential second series, you have to go that route. The bullpen is looking absolutely stacked right now. They don’t need Maeda for an opening 3 game series, and holding him out of a rotation role in case a starter falters and because he had success 4+ years ago out of the pen is ridiculous.
  9. Definitely looks like Ryan is the third starter which means Ober would open up the ALDS if the first round goes 3 games. Very small chance they will need Maeda out of the pen in the opening series and had the opportunity to have Ryan open up the ALDS which is much better than Ober. Really not happy at all with this decision. Moving your third best starter to the pen cause he pitched well in the playoffs 4 years ago is insane. Hope that’s not the reason they lose the series. Can’t imagine anyone is happy that Ober has been named the 4th starter. Somehow they forgot he was so bad they sent him down a month ago.
  10. Very happy to see that Ryan’s velocity was back for his final start but I still would rather have Maeda start a potential game 3. As a Mn fan I know not to get ahead of myself but just to point out, the ALDS would begin on 10/7. This what if scenario is all dependent on the twins moving on and playing all 3 games. Assuming the Twins aren’t going to have people pitch on short rest in round 2, whoever is designated the 4th starter likely pitches game 1 of the ALDS. At this point Maeda will either be game 3 starter or in the bullpen so game 1 of the ALDS comes down to Ryan or Ober. I’d rather see Ryan if we win the series. That would make Maeda the best choice for 3rd starter. Like I said, it’s a big what if cause twins have to win and it has to go all 3 games for this to play out.
  11. I’ll maybe give him a little bit of a break cause it doesn’t seem like anyone is paying much attention today but it’s become such a common occurrence this year. The most excited I’ve heard him get this year is on fly outs
  12. Time for Bremer to retire. That was embarrassing. 97 mph exit velocity and he acted like that was a playoff walkoff HR.
  13. They’re playing 3 of the worst teams in the league. They can rest people and still win most of the games. No one said forfeit. And honestly, they’re not gaining momentum that matters by playing the Angels (worst record in baseball since trade deadline), A’s one of the worst teams ever and playing in Colorado
  14. I simply cannot get over how many fans on Twitter are complaining about this lineup and complaining about Rocco’s comments on resting people the rest of the season especially since correa and Lewis just hit the injured list There is virtually no chance the twins move up to the second seed. These games mean nothing.
  15. Finally Bally shows the entrance but unlike the Mets announcers Bremer and Justin just can’t seem to shut up for 30 freaking seconds
  16. Solano is in the midst of a 1-21 slump so it probably wasn’t gonna matter either way
  17. And we all know righties can’t get hits consistently against other righties.
  18. Solano has basically the same OPS against righties as lefties. Higher OBP actually
  19. Mariners have probably the best rotation of the teams MN could face in the first round but not a ton else and outside of the rear they went on in August, they’ve been a disappointment. I feel like they’re going to be the team on the outside looking in, however.
  20. Just straight cursed. Probably the end of his season
  21. I’d actually rather watch Keuchel give up bloops and bleeders than see Ryan give up 100mph+ on every pitch put in play against him.
  22. Fans giving up on Miranda’s major league career already are making a mistake
  23. Steer may have played multiple positions this year, but he can’t play any position at a major league level.
  24. Three straight games of topping out at 91 mph for Ryan. He simply can’t be the third starter in the playoffs. He’s battling to be active in the playoffs at this point cross your fingers for Ober and Maeda to build off their last starts
