  1. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I think that's how it goes. Leave him in the ninth spot he's building confidence so don't mess with him. Nice sweep of the O's this past weekend.
  2. Tom Kelly always said it takes 40 games to see what type of team he has. One thing I have noticed is they're never really out of any game. The games they lose are close and they're usually close to coming back.
  3. Things fell apart for Pineda not because he pitched bad or ran out of gas. Kempler should've called off Crone on the short fly to right and Crone didn't make the over the shoulder catch. Then there was Eddy's attempt on a short fly to left where he pulled up just short. I think he was worried about running into someone but he had a 10 yard cushion but he ends up letting the ball drop right in front of him. It almost hit him in the toe that's how close he was. All he had to do was stick his glove out and he could've made the catch. They brag about there defense but for some reason they just weren't with it today. To lacks out there! Eddy made up for it with the bat but the rest of the guys couldn't get the timely hits to come back. Not sure why they were so lackadaisical today.
  4. Gibby as he is called needs to throw strikes and trust the guys behind you to make plays. This is what I loved about Blyleven. Yeah he gave up some homers but a lot of them were one run shots because he attacked the strike zone and let his defense make plays for him. Gibby on the other hand try's to be to nibble to much and he ends up walking people. You don't need to strike everyone out and quit being such a nervous Nelly or in this case a nervous Gibby. One other thing I don't know who was calling the pitches last night but they didn't do a very good job. Not sure if that goes on Castro, Roco or Gibby but it was brutal the last couple innings Gibson pitched.
  5. Sano can get healthy in the minors and when he proves he can stay healthy than call him up. Until then we go with what we have. If he does get back to the majors then drop Castro who brings nothing to the table. If we need to drop anyone else it should be Adrianza. I have a feeling things will work there way out. Someone will get injured so we'll probably need everyone. I'll add that Garner is playing great. He's learned how to frame pitches which Castro doesn't do and Garner's bat is working real well right now. Castro on the other hand is brutal. When it comes to Turtle the guy can flat out hit. Don't send him down he is our spark plug and he can play. Yea he is in a little slump right now but only because the ball is being hit right at people. He is making great contact and its only a mater of time before he breaks out of the slump. I'm more concerned with our middle relievers. Trevor May can't keep blowing games like he did last night.
  6. The one thing that does worry me is our closer. I like Rodgers as our 8th inning guy but I'm not sold on Parker. I'm hoping its the cold weather that has affected him and that once it warms up he'll look a lot better. It was nice seeing Hildenberger come in and shut them down. I love watching him throw pitches in the mid 70's and get strike outs. He did a great job.
  7. Personally I'm impressed with Roco. He knows what he's doing and always seems to make the right move.
  8. Ok now its the Twins turn to win a title. World series title. This could be the year.
  9. UMD just scored a third goal on UMass with 3 minutes left. Looks like they're going to go back to back for another NCAA national title in men's college hockey. Nice job Bull Dogs.
  10. They could avoid all this bad weather by playing instead of taking days off early in the season. That would be the schedule makers. Why do we get screwed 2 years in a row?
  11. I have to say something about Roco. I haven't always agreed with some of his decisions but he always ends up being right. Great hire by the front office he's a really good manager. Our squad made De Gram look human. Here is something to think about. If we keep playing and winning like this how bad do we want to see Sano back in the lineup? We have some chemistry right now and adding him to the lineup just because we're supposed to may not be the best idea.
  12. Feel kind of sorry for De Jong but dude you have to throw strikes. Walking people is a recipe disaster just ask Gibson. As far as Gibson goes I don't feel sorry for him at all. He needs to quit being such a knucklehead. Not sure why he was so worried about the guy on second base. Worry about the guy in the batter box. The guy on second isn't going anywhere the out you want is the guy with the bat in his hand so throw strikes! I hope De Jong is able to recover from this. He's going to have to spend a couple extra years in the minors to recover from this.
  13. Nice win for the most part. Like most of you guys are saying we've played some tough teams who are supposed to be playoff caliber and we've held our own on the road so great start. I like Eddy's aggressiveness but I don't want him kill himself we need him for the rest of the season. It's nice having some power in the line up for once. I know its early but this team has a little swagger to it. You know they look like they get along and they enjoy each other. You're not seeing any moping around or complaining and that's usually a good ingredient. for success. They're a confident bunch right now.
  14. All these days off really suck! I hope it doesn't screw them like it did last year. Can't get enough of this team right now. I'd be happy with a split in this short series. Win Twins!
  15. They may want to check Hoskins bat for cork. The game winning home run looked llike it was playable when it left his bat but it kept going and going and going. These guys have to give Barrious a little more support when he goes out and pitches a good game like that. We need a little more than one run.
  16. Look to me to me like he wasn't really trying to catch the ball. It looked like he was trying to run into the wall. I know that's weird but he needs to calm down and make the plays he can make. We know he's good and he'll get better with some time so just relax Bux. He's going to be really good some day.
