  1. Hey, but Larnach hit a ball 458 feet at 115 mph. Must count for at least 2 runs? Nope. Maybe if we highlited someone, anyone, not focus on how far a solo homerun went. Not bashing Trevor, but why does Twins Daily glorify the long home runs? I guess a long home run is better than a 2 rbi double. Oh, rbi stats don't count. Should work great for our team then. Go bombas.

  3. @jkcarew. Yes friend. Thankyou! Remember those days we'll. Would actually be able to pick up the games on radio from Cleveland Ohio. Had to be clear night and after 9pm. I could make out about 1 out of every 3 words. And of course when they came to town I'd cheer them on in the stands.
  4. I apologize. Just upset at our team. I've never been to Minnesota. I played for the Twins in teeball at the age of 5, and the Vikings in peewee football. My dad showed me how to read the sports page at that point, and I've been diehard since. This was 45 years ago, and 90 percent of my wardrobe references the Twins or Vikings. Just very dissapointed.
  5. What..!? Are you telling me hard hit rate and barrel ball pct, and exit velocity don't matter with a runner on 2nd and no outs? I thought it was a contest to hit the hardest ball? I'm shocked that moving a runner over or hitting to the gap works. I thought for sure swinging for a 3 run Homer with nobody on was the way to go. Launch angle must need adjusted. Sarcasm. RBI is so meaningless. Why would anyone want to bat in a run. Smh
  6. @ashbury, these Twins would be lucky to have that record....just saying
  7. I agree, can not discount the Royals. So many years a team will come out of nowhere. Could be them. No easy wins for us in the division for us this year.
  8. Or do analytics not cover speed or base running? I'm guessing that is another unnecessary skill set?
  9. In response to the rebutting of Astudillo and his batting average. I would think his speed would be the issue or lack there of? Just suggesting, if you think about it for a second.
  10. Thanks for the laugh ashbury!
  11. Watching Sundays game. Why does the RBI Stat not matter again? Couldn't we use some this year?
  12. Well said Dave The Dastardly. I've been saying this for awhile, but get beat back down, as if the only goal is to hit the ball hard as opposed to doing what it takes to win games.
  13. Ouch. These hurt. But as someone pointed out to me on another thread, we are top 5 in hard hit percentage.
  14. Why are you bringing up Ortiz? Gotta get over that loss twinbythebay! And who suggested turning Buxton into a slap hitter? I'm not sure, if that's what you are suggesting?
  15. I suggest a more rounded approach as stated earlier. Hard hit, exit velocity, but also going opposite field, hitting behind a runner, shortening a swing with 2 strikes. Hard hit percentage doesn't always equall winning and runs. Ie...6-11. But sometimes as a other, you may want to read comments as we take time to read your article, which I appreciate. Batting average was below .244 going into game by the way when article was written. What do you propose, swinging all out every swing with the idea of only having a top 5 hard hit rate?
  16. My original comment stated a good mix would be best. Why would anyone think they are trying to hit the ball AT fieldiers? Why would anyone do or suggest that? Are you reading the comments you respond to?
  17. You even put down Mikelink45. Just because he had a different opinion. I believe we should encourage opinions, comments, and new members.
  18. Above all, learn to allow other opinions. Don't be so sensitive about your shortcomings please. Also don't put words in your commenter mouths. Actually read th initial comment. No need to be passive aggressive. I am also entitled to my opinion. No need to try and belittle someone just because they maybe smarter than you.
  19. Please don't misquote me or puts words in my mouth. Who said aim?....oh you did. Cmon Parker I'd hope you are better than this and watch a game or two. Or as you say in the article "swing as hard as you can.works for Sano"
  20. Parker, it's your article. Don't be so sensitive. My proposal is to not swing for the fences and move runners over or bring them in. Of course swing with intention, but put ball in play. If the goal as you stated is to only try to hit the ball as hard as possible. Well that will lead to many slumps and ugly at bats. Since ytou are soo smart in some many ways..lol....what is your proposal?
  21. I wonder if batting practice and infield practice will become mandatory as opposed to voluntary as it is now. Very frustrated at the moment. I've watched every inning of every game. Rock has to stop overthinking subs, ie..blankenhorn for Josh, and many others. Maybe is Rocco informed practice and teamwork? Put down the data and actually watch the game. Alot of bad to see, with easy fixes.
  22. Also Parker, you do see the Twins have hit the ball hard, as you stated. However that has not turned into a higher batting average. Your exact article shows this.
  23. You do understand hitting the ball to places without fielders correlates more to batting average...right? Cmon Parker
