  1. Ffs, how does a guy with 10 walks in 9 innings get that call?
  2. Love Gladden. "You're gonna calm down, have a beer and come back and get ready to play tomorrow."
  3. Dobnak's like if I had that guy at third in Appalachia, I'd been a first round draft pick.
  4. 4 for his last 10 Three sky is falling articles based on 40 PAs has to be a record.
  5. Dobnak just keeps rollin' ... Nice transition to covering the bag after missing his stab at the nubber
  6. I usually get, "Thanks, Statman. More useless information taking up square-footage in your brain cells."
  7. Wow. That's some well-presented detailed information. Thank you!
  8. The current pitcher doesn't try to please people to gain personal advantage.
  9. Where's the neighborhood Billy Bob to shoot that thing down?
  10. I guess someone has to be the heir-apparent to Angel Hernandez.
  11. Does being 8-2 with 6 games against teams that are collectively 5-15 coming up and having a 30-man roster until Thursday have anything to do with this use of the IL for Bailey and Hill? I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised. Someone correct me, if I'm wrong, but it seems like Bailey could come off the IL in 3 days and Hill could come off in 4. This seems like roster games. Berrios, Dobnak and Maeda is a great trio for the remaining games against the Bucs. Is it possible that Bailey and Hill could be back for the KC series? Also, it sounds like Odorizzi is on target for a return at KC. It sure is nice to have pitching depth for once.
  12. Good teams find ways to win, and bad teams find ways to lose. It's always fun to watch a walk-off, but that's about as close as I've seen a team come to saying, "Here, take this win. We don't want it." I think Morneau nailed it with assuming Shelton was trying to see how guys performed in different situations.
  13. Little early for an article like this. I can't even read it after seeing the title.
  14. Send Holland to the showers early and then maybe mic him up in the 8th for some Harry Carey impressions. "Hey Dick, now this might be the Budweiser talkin', but I swear those fans behind home plate look like cardboard cutouts."
  15. Just download T-Mobile Tuesdays, and you can get it. You can also get a free Whopper from BK, if you spend a $1.
  16. Until now, I only knew the Jackie Robinson Award (rookie) and Cy Young Award (pitcher) had names attached to them. This seems like low hanging fruit for equality. Just call it the MVP Award (likely what 99% of people thought it was anyway) and you're good to go. I wonder if Barry Bonds could have won four or five MVPs without roids, then this would be easy.
  17. I would like to see MDH start reporting the number of deaths that had DNR/DNI orders associated. I think that data matters for a true picture. A life that was lost with no attempt at intervention seems a bit different than one where there was intervention. I know this would be true about any health condition, but we aren't being pushed data and news on any of those conditions on a minute-by-minute basis either.
  18. First of all, that was a great post. I will just quote this part though. This article at KSTP puts into context some of what is going on in Minnesota. It also shows how resources were put to use. It's is still tragic, but it's real and gives our leaders good data needed to make decisions on how to proceed. https://kstp.com/coronavirus/new-hope-long-term-care-facility-confirms-47-residents-have-died-from-covid-19/5715574/?cat=1
  19. I've been impressed with how well the state has handled the situation so far. Here is an exception. I hope this gets fixed. Bureaucracy gets us nowhere. https://kstp.com/news/minnesota-nurses-furloughed-while-out-of-state-nurses-imported-during-covid-19-crisis-april-27-2020/5711952/?cat=1
  20. I guess I'd have to ask what the definition of "staying in" is. Here in Minnesota, if I abide by the law, I think I could deal with this for longer. I'm not speaking for others, but for me, it's livable. If it's literally "staying in" way above and beyond what's legal, then yes, people won't be able to hold out that long. I'm just going to continue doing what's legal and make sure I give others (especially the elderly) their space. I think us Minnesotans are basically just being inconvenienced and maybe slightly annoyed. If I think about those I know in the Philippines or India, then I need to count my blessings. I know it's not always fair to make comparisons to situations that people have never experienced, but I do know that things could be much worse. I do know one thing. When business does get back closer to normal, they aren't going to be able to post the sign that says "long-haired freaky people need not apply", or they won't have any employees.
