  1. Umm ... No. And Jose Abreu might have something to say about who is leading the Chicago White Sox.
  2. What do they call a group of crows, Bart? .... A murder god this umpire is testing me.
  3. Good to see Berrios not implode there. His command still is nowhere near "there" yet, but a lesser pitcher could have completely lost it that inning. Nothing went his way.
  4. The way this is going, I expect a no-hitter from Odo, when he comes off the IL.
  5. The Apache swooped in and pulled him out of the hot LZ. Quick stop at sick bay, and then off for some well deserved R&R.
  6. Seems like it's always Berrios vs. Lopez. Hope that keeps tending to role in our favor.
  7. Perkins: "There goal has got to be winning games."
  8. "Solo home runs will never hurt you ..... I should know."
  9. Hopefully, Donaldson coming back will remedy some of that, but Adrianza had a couple key moments late. First, he convinced Captain Helicopter to let him stay in the game and avoid a major wildcard situation with Eddie in the infield late. Then, he made a situation saving play at third in the top of the ninth (shout out to Sano on the assist there).
  10. No S*** .... Losing 6 to close out August isn't pretty, but they still have 5 to go to catch the 2016 team that lost 11 to close out August (and that's after opening the season 0-9) The last week has sucked with the losing, the delays and the general wasting of time, but these Twins have a long way to go to reach the bottom.
  11. Womp, womp. Article after article. Post after post. All the speculation can only buy an empty bag after a 3-7 road trip. Ildamaro Vargas is the FO's haul!
  12. Thank you for actually suggesting something that can move things forward. All we're hearing are the same cliches: "We need change", "We need to have tough conversations", "Let's throw money at it". We've been hearing those empty statements for years, and nothing gets done. The Phillies, for example, could have used their big bad platform to point to the legislation in Pennsylvania that could completely gut their arbitration process, but, no, it's just the same old "We stand in solidarity". "Look at us, we, like, rescheduled a game. Like, we totally, like, helped those people."
  13. It doesn't appear that the Pirates and Cardinals players care. They were the only two teams that didn't fall in line. Oh wait, they had a double-header. Rescheduling that would be too inconvenient for a social justice statement. The whole charade is a farce.
  14. I agree that consequences are not necessary to make a statement. I just wish the statements coming from each team weren't so generic. I also think the message has little clout when someone can just change the channel and watch a different game. That's what makes me thinks the teams are just falling in line as to not be singled out. It feels disingenuous. Every player probably feels like the guy in the commercial mulling over checking the organ donorship box on his driver's license. The entire room is staring at him, so he decides that he can lose the glaring eyes and maybe feel better about himself. Anyone who thinks that 100% of the players have strong feelings about this is just blinded by idealism.
  15. I just read the A's players statement, and it's just a bunch of platitudes. If these players are trying to use their position of power to impact change, how about presenting a solution instead of just regurgitating the problems in an unoriginal statement?
  16. Padres/Mariners is still on if you have MLB TV.
  17. As long as we don't have a double-header, we will stand in solidarity.
  18. Saw that coming a mile away. Meanwhile, Seattle and San Diego are playing two games.
  19. It's a meaningless gesture. The game will just be made up the next day or next series. Fans have already had 102 games taken away, so what's the point other than for owners to pretend like they care? Everyone is already used to a bunch of disruption by now. If they want to do something that matters, how about make a deal with the city to fire one arbitrator for every Twins win the rest of the season?
  20. We won't get to watch the Twins tonight because some stupid cop decided he needed to unload 7 rounds into a black guy. I'm sure the Twins and Tigers won't play, because if they do they'll be labeled racist or something. Stupid cops and lemmings is the story of the day.
  21. Dick salivating over Ks of Allen, Perez and Deshields is so lame. The 7,8,9 hitters of the AL's worst offense.
  22. I wonder if he's wishing he would have taken that contract extension.
  23. Last start is beginning to look like a mirage
