  1. The Twins are playing the hottest team in baseball. The Braves, Yankees, Rays and Astros are all right there with the Twins as heavy hitters in the power rankings that are off to slow starts or are experiencing a losing streak. It's just the nature of the game. However, if there is something systemic that ends up keeping this team from reaching potential, there is a silver lining. Perhaps, Baldelli will be fired. If the dark lord came to me and said my team could not make the playoffs this year but after this season (or perhaps part way through) there would be no more Baldelli .... Soul sold.
  2. I'm just glad all these consecutive day games are almost over. I'm ready for evening beers and baseball.
  3. Not going to panic 10 games into the season with a .500 team on a snowy day after another series of off-field unfortunate events, but Baldelli's lineup today puzzled me. It doesn't get much colder than Garver/Polanco/Sano, and yet it was decided that said trio would be the heart of the order. I know the Cruz scratch f'd things up, but I'm still scratching my head on today's order. Arraez has a career 15% walk rate and 370 OBP against lefties, so I don't understand why he isn't batting leadoff every game regardless of handedness on the mound. Too bad Mike Bell isn't still around to bark in Roccobot's ear on that one. May he rest in peace.
  4. 15 pitches, 6 outs ... I'll take it!
  5. OK, Team ... See what Polanco just did right there? Remember that in the 10th with a guy on 3rd and less than two outs.
  6. I can only partly watch gameday on this one. How watchable is Happ so far?
  7. After watching Leadership Fail 101 late last spring, I understand the decision. However, I give an F for waiting until the 11th hour.
  8. The sky is falling, but there's another game today.
  9. Yankees already have the paperwork started.
  10. That delay seems to have helped Berrios get his command back.
  11. Solid road trip! If Cleveland can hold, Twins open at home in first place.
  12. Despite another tough, late loss, the Twins are in position to win their first two series and have a winning road trip with a win tomorrow. Projecting doom and calling for players to be benched or sent down is just silly at this point.
  13. Rooker needs to work on the ole two strike approach
  14. Twins will be lucky to get four innings out of Happ.
