  1. I'll take the unproven relievers over the guy with an era of 6 on the year and a scary last few innings.
  2. That was an utterly unsurprising turn of events.
  3. I mostly remember him for the "past a diving Bautista" word filter on BYTO.
  4. Damn, can't ask for more than that from a hitter.
  5. Dick Bremer trying to argue Ervin Santana is a good as Kluber or Sale...
  6. Seeing Erik Lis on that list is a blast from the past. I vaguely recall there being several posters on BYTO who thought he was going to be the next big thing for the Twins.
  7. Just stumbled on to this thread and what a blast from the past it was. Word filters are probably the thing I miss most from BYTO. Also shout out to Brock for getting me into the second game ever at Target Field, was a good time.
  8. They'd still have smallest park in the league, by a good sized margin as well. If we're looking at AA teams to promote I think either Sioux Falls or Fargo-Moorhead would be better choices. I have friends in the Cedar Rapids area who were fairly indifferent Twins fans who follow much closer now that they have a stronger, local connection to the team.
  9. Still bums me out how pitching injuries killed the best team I can remember. Liriano going down and Radke pitching through both a torn labrum and a fractured shoulder.
  10. KATOH definitely likes the the Garcia trades. Pick up 4.7 and 1.5 for 1.9 and ~4 mil. FYI KATOH ranks Littell as a top 100 prospect.
  11. Littell is pitching significant better at AA as Mejia was at the same age. I'll take waiting an extra year in favor of the higher upside. Think you're underrating Enns as well. He's definitely the throw in but he's pitched well at every level and does a decent job at missing bats. I'm betting he contributes next year.
  12. 5 games back of the WC and 7 of the division while below .500 and outperforming our Pythagorean does not bode well for a playoff push. Things were different when the Twins were just a couple back but now was the time to sell pieces that wouldn't be here next year. Good trades and the Garcia one in particular could help the Twins compete as soon as next year.
  13. Upgraded prospects at the cost of 4 million. I like the trade an awful lot.
  14. And he's swinging at less stuff outside the zone, that metric has decreased every year. Still on the ugly side but steady improvement. You let him play out this season at the very least, way to early to think about giving up on him.
  15. Would be nice but the team has been too cheap for that. Expect very little to none leftover.
  16. Those complaining about going for signability in picks 6-10 aren't thinking hard enough about draft strategy due to the way the money and losing these picks go. Better to take the hard to sign guys 11-15, that way you aren't locked out the larger draft pool money.
  17. FYI if you want to watch him stream video games here's his Twitch channel, he's been streaming pretty regularly: https://www.twitch.tv/iamtrevormay Excellent at baseball, merely slight above average at Overwatch.
  18. Navarro is my realistic acquisition candidate that actually improves the position.
  19. I'll take quotes that sounded absurd before this year. Which is why i'm still not sold on the pitching staff.
  20. I'd prefer them to somehow wrangle away Iowa/Des Moines from the Cubs. I don't see it happening but its something I enjoy daydreaming about.
  21. His BABIP is .50 points higher then his career average and its not merely a function of somewhat changed batted ball profiles, he's getting better average off of each type of contact then he has in the past 3 seasons. I'm not convinced by the small changes and write off most of this season as "luck". I see him hitting .275 with little power in a realistic best case scenario and would not be shocked to see him dip back down around .240.
  22. Worst trade ever. See all the value the A's have gotten from Fuld, what has Milone done for the Twins?
  23. B- Love the Fuld trade, somewhat dislike the Suzuki extension, and am frustrated that once again the Twins have a number of players who have no future with the team on the roster going into August.
  24. I remember he was a guy Sickels loved and after following his Appy League season it was easy to see why. Shame he couldn't get healthy, he just flat out hit when he was on the field.
  25. I'm not saying you trade him just to trade him but if you can get a remotely interesting prospect you make that deal. He's a 32 year old journeyman 4th outfielder having one of the best seasons of his career. I don't see his value ever being much higher and I don't see him having a place on the next good Twins team.
