  1. Add Judge to the list of Yankees out for Opening Day. At what point do they start to wonder what they're paying the Strength and Conditioning staff for? I can see an injury or two but this is now almost 2 years of one guy dropping after another. https://www.amny.com/sports/cashman-yankees-aaron-judge-doubtful-for-opening-day/
  2. I’m sorry, can I just point out how bonkers it is that Mike Trout is nearly twice as good as your average baseball player? The dude is u real
  3. I just like that we're at a point where there is actual argument on who should be included in an article like this. 5 years ago it would've been titled, "2 Guys Who Could Help Us in 5 Years"
  4. I'm sure it's probably been mentioned but looks like Severino is out for the year. TJ surgery strikes again. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2877980-yankees-luis-severino-recommended-to-have-tommy-john-surgery-for-forearm-injury
  5. I was gonna ask if the Mets money was still Bonilla's. I don't know who his agent was but I hope Bobby bought him something nice after that contract.
  6. Nah it's fine. After all, they used a trashcan
  7. Until Gil makes it to the Bigs and actually contributes to the big league squad, yes the Twins win that trade. Guys with attributes like Gil flame out all the time
  8. Manfred's job is now basically on it's last legs. Eventually the owners are going to decide the only way for the league to move forward is with a new commish.
  9. Happily for all, this turned into a pretty successful trade for us
  10. You know, might be best to just let it go. Telling her could cause a cold snap in temperatures for a bit.
  11. At least Marwin apologized. More than you can say for Altuve and Bregman
  12. As much as I like Keoni, I don’t think a comparison between him and a guy who in my opinion is probably the next unanimous first ballot HOFer is an accurate one
  13. You owe me for the beer that just shot out my nose. Also if you weren’t aware, that actually kinda hurts
  14. I agree. And why would he not want to at least dip his toes in? After however many years of having really no control over what you get paid, finally having the opportunity to get as much as the market thinks you're worth is exactly what every player who makes it to The Show strives for. If he hits free agency and is one of the most sought after guys then that means he must've been pitching pretty damn well for us. In that case, more power to him.
  15. Well, I mean, it is Boston...
  16. I say screw it, we know Betts and Price are getting moved to the Dodgers. That means LA still needs to free up cap and roster space. I say we do a separate deal with them for Maeda. Hell, tell them we'll take stripling too. And then we can give Boston the old New Jersey "You're number one" finger as we walk away into the sunset
  17. This deal is going to get done. The best part is that the Twins have all the leverage here. Boston WANTS to shed salary. Dodgers WANT Betts. Twins like Maeda but you know we could always make a deal somewhere else. Eventually boston will bow to the inevitable and sign on the dotted line
  18. The following paragraph is from Passan's article on ESPN talking about the hold up. I think the part I've bolded is really what this is about. Alternative options to complete a deal exist, according to sources. The players involved could be amended, as could the amount of money Boston is sending to Los Angeles to cover a portion of the $96 million still owed Price. The Dodgers and Red Sox could theoretically opt for a two-team deal or involve a different third team; Graterol is currently with the Twins. I think Boston is trying to save themselves some money.
  19. So does this also put the Betts and Price to the Dodgers part of the deal on hold?
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we technically trade Graterol to the Dodgers for Maeda and the Dodgers then flipped Graterol to the BoSox as part of the Betts deal? If that's so, seems to me that the onus falls on the Dodgers to make the deal good.
  21. If you actually believe this, I've got an ocean-front timeshare in Vegas that we need to talk about
  22. As much as I loved Bartolo I don’t think he was breaking the century mark. However I also agree that with pitchers I don’t put much stock in “body type”
