    I’m also guessing the guy with the curveball that put him into the hall of fame...Blyleven…probably had a few that may have broke even more. But no social media at the time to make it “credible”. I love me some Joe Ryan. Aggressive, aggressive, aggressive. Hopefully, he can find the formula to stay strong and healthy through the entire season.

    Rocco gets away…barely…with the biggest mistake he’s made all season. He should have made it rain hard for another six hours. Seemed like such an obvious move.

    Dasan Hill pulled after 1.1 innings having given up zero runs (and also not K'ing anyone). Why do I already know where this is going?

    I remember him as a player. He was bad at the major league level. One of a string of first-basemen that couldn’t hit that the Twins desperately tried after the decline and subsequent trade of Killebrew. He was also a bench coach under Billy Gardner and Ray Miller.

    Doesn’t seem like AA hitters have been as impressed with Prielipp as the Twins media shills were back in March watching him on the back fields. But for now, I’m still just glad he seems healthy. If that stays true, he’s got a shot. I’m hoping Raya can work through whatever is going on, and he can become at least an option as a reliever. It’s like Groundhog’s Day with him, every year is the same.

    But when healthy, the organization has treated him like fine china…until this year, which has been refreshing. Still, there’s the poor OBP…which features few walks and few singles.

    Sometimes you gotta feel a bit sorry for the lads. Bullpen did their job, a lot of good at-bats…but not enough came with RISP. Got the ground ball that you need in the 10th, and it finds the whole. It was a less hopeless, but more frustrating, way to not score enough. Well, at least the flight to Boston is a short one.

    He does, but I’m fine with his results so far this year. I don’t expect he can get a ton better, and I would just as soon he stays aggressive. Maybe not a good candidate to bring in with runners on…which I don’t think has been done much with him.

    Without the ghost runner, it was 3 runs on 6 hits. Teams do that 1000 times a season.

    Yes. But posting a .500-525 in the ALC means you’re really probably below average.

    You’re forgetting….consistent and dependable mediocrity is the goal. “Competing” in what remains a bad division. Maybe that changes with new ownership. No guarantee it will.

    If France keeps this up for 6-8 weeks, THEORETICALLY you have a lineup of Lewis, Correa, Wallner, Buxton, France, and have guys like Lee, Larnach, and Jeffers in the bottom of the order. They probably win enough to do what they always do at the deadline….neither buy nor sell. Sigh.

    Wow, even worse than I thought. One of the things this says is the top of Cleveland’s bullpen has been better than the Twins, as it continues to be. That alone though can’t explain 3-17. Twins bullpen hasn’t been THAT bad. What else could be at play? Probably better defense and baserunning. What else? Hmm. It sure isn’t their superior offense which has been pretty horrible during that entire stretch.

    Stewart against the umpire was a riveting battle. The umpire finally won.

    I said MIGHT have…you understand the difference right? I’ll simplify. It is my opinion that if Rocco’s pre-game scenario is the right move…he’ll stick with the plan. Many reasons to want Paddack to get through at least 5. If the plan represents a very questionable move given the in-game scenario…he still tends to stick with the original plan. To a fault.
