  1. Does that make Larnach the biggest chip? I think he will be a better offensive MLB player over Lewis and Kiriloff.
  2. Excellent game (defense, big hits, and clutch bullpen work)! Did anyone else catch Dick on the TV broadcast saying if the Twins hold on to the lead they should erect a Thorpe statue outside the stadium? Cmon man!
  3. Does KC have any other decent BP arms that would allow the Twins to take on some extra Ian Kennedy salary to entice for two decent relievers (Ian plus one)?
  4. Great weather and it should be an exciting series. I would like to see some return of the scoring and I think taking the series would do wonders for the confidence of this team.
  5. I would be happy if the Twins landed any of these combos. This weekend was a fun series, and the bullpen (with the exception of that one May's pitch) was very effective. However the three best starters failed to go deep in two of the three games against a fairly mediocre offense.
  6. yes I hope so. I would love to see what it would take to get Bumgarner. The Twins need to trim a few off of the 40 man during the season so sending three or four prospects (a few that are on the 40 man) could maybe get someone like da Bum.
  7. That was a crazy good reaction to that shot by Astudillo. So glad he wasn't hit in the noggin. Was he lying on the ground because he was shook up (I would understand this)? Or was he injured.
  8. I mentioned this somewhere else, but Baldelli's style reminds me a bit of the guy leading the football team in Dinkytown. Fleck and Baldelli both communicate very well and in a very positive way. They seem to make the game fun for the players as well. Looking forward to watching both of these coaches lead their teams for hopefully a long time.
  9. Do others think that Stewart's realistic role on this team will be in the bullpen. He just has never demonstrated enough command or consistency for me to consider him as a future part of a decent rotation. Looking back on Romero's first three or so starts last year, I remember him being dominant. Did mgmt give up on him as a starter too early?
  10. how far out is Romero's return? He's the guy in the organization now that I am most excited about for an important bullpen role.
  11. I'm guessing Duffey is sent down to make room for Stewart? I'm not ready to give up on DuffMan yet, but what happened to that nice breaking ball that he used to be able to get swings and misses on?
  12. Yeah God forbid we should pay the people who are working at a sporting event a decent wage.
  13. His disease that cause him to retire early. Was that treatable enough so he has energy and is healthy enough to handle the stress of this job? I'm assuming the answer is yes, but the article didn't mention it.
  14. Great to see the team playing well at home. Addition by subtraction with Dozier being gone? I can't quite put my finger on why he bugged me so much, but I have to think if we were team mates that I would not want to share my Fogo De Chao with him. 14 days til Gopher Football!
  15. First time attending a game/series at Comiskey/Guaranteed Rate and I came away pleasantly surprised. We were able to sit in nice seats for prices that we used to pay at the Metrodome. The it's easy to go to the ballpark via public transit and the Twins played really well. Eddie and Eduardo were on fire all weekend.
  16. That Friday night game in St Pete is on my mind. Rosario hits the one handed Grand Slam to tie the game, and Kepler with the solo shot to put the Twins up one. Rodney strikes out the first two and beans Gomez. It's been downhill since.
  17. Thank you Nick. Didn't realize you were a Mighty Miller. Joe looks great this year. He has kept his body in good shape and he still runs well and has the same great solid approach at the plate. I think he could still be a very productive player for a lot longer. I wish the Twins would have utilized his arm and athleticism more by transitioning him to 3B or LF instead of first, but he surely is a great first basemen. I'm going to try to enjoy watching him as much as possible this season in case it's his last in a Twins uniform.
  18. I kind of have to hold my nose with Dozier. When one of the better players on your favorite team annoys you often, it makes it hurt less when they move on.
  19. Did anyone make it down for Twins breakfast? Today's weather shouldn't be much worse than last night's game at Pittsburgh.
  20. Grumpy's downtown will be our watching hq Eagerly awaiting to see how our Twins do I'm expecting three home runs to the short porch in left Even without the Sano and his heft Thank you Falvey and Levine for letting us realize this dream The Twins bullpen will scrape and claw their way to the end And around 11pm due to the tight strike the Twins will be on their way to Cleveland
  21. What a fun game! We will be watching Tuesday's Wild Card game at Grumpy's Downtown.
  22. It sure would be a positive event tonight if Meija pitches well and for 6 or 7 innings. If the Twins are able to make the WC, I would love to see him earn the 3rd or 4th spot in the rotation.
  23. Great article and count me as one of the fans that is happy to eat my words about Sano and Polanco not being able to cut it at 3B and SS. If this can continue it puts the team in such a better place offensively in the years to come.
