  1. You're right, there are just too many prospects coming in to keep track of.
  2. So the final returns for Escobar, Dozier, Pressly, Duke, and Lynn are by level: R: Rijo, Celestino A: Duran, Maciel, Costello A+: De La Trinidad AA: Alcala, Raley, Smeltzer, De Jong AAA: Austin If nothing else the added players should help Elizabethton, Cedar Rapids, and Fort Myers to compete for the playoffs in their respective leagues. EDIT: I forgot to add De Jong and Costello
  3. Based on a Wolfson tweet it sounds like the Twins intend to pick up Rodney's option for next season.
  4. I'd pass Forsythe through revocable waivers tomorrow and then give him a month of regular playing time and see if he can regain the production he had in 2015-16 with the Rays. Maybe there is a slim chance he could be traded again in August for a lottery ticket prospect.
  5. Based on the trade return, I really wonder if the Twins overplayed their hand in Dozier trade talks. If the rumored Brewers interest was real I have a hard time believing we couldn't have gotten a better deal from them (before they traded for Moustakas). Milwaukee needed a 2B a lot more than a 3B and they gave up a considerably better package.
  6. Based on the trade return, the Twins must have already made the decision not to offer Dozier a QO.
  7. Dozier has pretty much played himself out of trade consideration with his terrible post all-star hitting. Combine that with very few (if any) trade destinations remaining and I'm beginning to doubt that he gets moved.
  8. I wonder if Rodney throwing 97-98 mph fastballs by Ramirez and Alonso convinces other teams he still has his good stuff and gets someone to pull the trigger on a trade for him.
  9. Sano with a good AB, hopefully tonight can get him going at the plate.
  10. If someone asked me what the Fernando Rodney experience is, I'd tell them to watch his last inning.
  11. The good side of the FRE, he goes after Ramirez and strikes him out. That's impressive.
  12. Why are they pitching to Ramirez?
  13. The FRE on full display with a lead off 4 pitch walk.
  14. When Magill got called up I thought he was just another AAAA pitcher, but I'm starting to believe he could actually be a solid bullpen arm for the next couple of years. His stuff is a lot better than I expected.
  15. Twins outfield defense not having a good night.
  16. Duran with a great first start in Cedar Rapids, went 7 no hit innings with 8 KO.
  17. Grossman manages to turn a double into an easy triple.
  18. It's sad to say, but Santana is looking frighteningly similar to low-velocity Hughes. He's trying to be a junk baller and every mistake is getting pounded.
  19. Cave needs to stop trying to make the hero play, he just doesn't have the speed. That's the third ball in the last few weeks he's tried to make a tough play and ended up gifting the other ream with runs.
  20. Dozier must really want to stay with the Twins, he's tanked his trade value with his truly awful play since the all-star break.
  21. Santana's fastball has always set up his off-speed stuff, without a good fastball he just isn't able to get swings and misses. Tonight he only has 2 swing and miss pitches out of the 72 he's thrown.
  22. I wonder if this signals that the Logan Morrison experiment is coming to an end.
  23. Austin hits right handed and is hopefully a better defensive RF than Grossman (which isn't a hard bar to clear). He was once considered a decent prospect, so maybe he can show something over the next couple months as a platoon guy at 1B/RF against lefties. The Twins also add another lottery ticket type guy in Rijo (they seem to be stocking up on 19 year olds). Probably fair to say it's a little better return than I expected for Lynn.
  24. Neither guy coming back makes the Twins top 30 prospect list and I suspect De Jong gets DFAd at the end of the season (if not before) to make room for players that need rule 5 protection.
