  1. I'll watch any Ken Burns documentary that was actually directed/produced by Ken Burns (which excludes the mind-numbingly boring The West documentary).
  2. Well, I didn't remove the button just because I was bored. The page only gets about 30 page views a day. By comparison, this thread (which was created at 7pm last night), received 22 views in just five hours. Simply put, the button wasn't performing. I'm going to be making wholesale changes to the navigation in the coming months and this was the first step toward implementing those changes. The page is still available, by the way. It's no longer linked from the main navigation, that's all. http://twinsdaily.com/activity.php
  3. That's it? If so, good god. They're not even trying.
  4. I want to know if Guerrier can catch. And possibly coach a little third base when needed.
  5. Very cool. I remember seeing various playographs from Burns' documentary, which I am not ashamed to admit that I've seen at least three times. Really neat to see people surrounding such a device just to follow baseball.
  6. How many use this button? Could I get a head count?
  7. Why would Darnell go down? Don't they need a long man?
  8. No radio blackouts... Those only apply to video.
  9. Yep. As far as I know, all new characters and story.
  10. What did they expect iTunes staff to do? Negotiate with the podcasters to change their names to something more suitable? Of course iTunes is just going to delete the podcasters. They're not MLB's lawyers.
  11. Even moreso that they have no legal right to stop people from talking about their product, provided no copyrights or trademarks are being infringed upon. This entire situation is absurd and I hope MLB catches a lot of flak for it.
  12. Yeah. Not a fan. Hard to rationalize this one, MLB. You don't own the rights to people talking about your product, not to mention the question why you'd want to restrict people talking about your product.
  13. While we're on the subject, who wants to see an announcing team of Tom Kelly and Jack Morris? Innings 1-5: unintelligible growling Innings 6-7: more unintelligible growling Inning 8: slightly louder unintelligible growling because the starting pitcher didn't go the distance Inning 9: both have left the booth out of frustration with the world in general
  14. Rex Hudler is worse. I'd rather listen to the semi-competent homer that is Hawk Harrelson over the guy who makes Dan Gladden look like Albert Schweitzer.
  15. I find Gladden a mixture of horrifying and delightful, but not in a positive way. Some of his statements are unintentional comedy gold.
  16. Well, for a long time Anderson was using a different form of MoneyBall, an efficient way to get production from not-very-talented or flawed players: avoid the walk at all costs. The problem is that he's no longer convincing his pitchers to avoid walks and they're still not striking people out. Back in the day, Anderson got solid seasons from some pretty terrible pitchers. In the past four years, nearly every pitcher on the staff has underperformed. Outside of Deduno, there isn't a single success story in the rotation. That makes it really hard to defend him, even for those of us who, while not Anderson "fans", didn't think he was awful.
  17. And this is part of the reason why I thought Parmelee should have received 500+ PA in the Majors last season. Would he have cemented himself on the roster had that happened? Maybe not, maybe even probably not... But he has a potential future with this team and it was worth doing all you can to answer that question last season. But now? I think he'll be back on the 40 man at some point but given the current roster crunch of no-glove players, I don't see how the Twins will do it. At this point, it'd be best for the Twins if Willingham doesn't recover from his wrist injury, as sad as that is to say.
  18. If Nolasco and Gibson continue to hit bats instead of occasionally missing them, whatever feel-good sentiment I once had for Rick Anderson will be completely gone. Or maybe it's already gone. I can't find anything good to say about him anymore.
  19. I only felt that way for about two episodes, maybe five and six. I thought episodes 1-4 were possibly the best television I've ever seen while 7-8 were very, very good. I quite enjoyed the ending and how it ramped up to the conclusion. I have no idea how they're going to match this season next time around.
  20. Pinto should re-establish himself, though probably not at an .800+ OPS in the short-term. Plouffe, thanks to the new approach, should continue hitting well enough to be an asset though the home run power might never return. Colabello, yikes. Not looking good for him right now.
  21. I don't know if they'll continue to be this good but they should be serviceable. For the first time since 2010, when any Twins starter takes the mound the team has a legitimate chance to win the game. It's been far too long since we could say that as fans.
