Twins Video
ByoungHo Park is a former Minnesota Twin first baseman. He rose to prominence in South Korea as a member of LG Twins and the former Nexen Heroes due to incredible home run totals. Park is a two-time MVP in the Korean Baseball Organization, a five-time Golden Glove winner, a five-time home run leader, a four-time RBI leader, a two-time slugging percentage leader, and a two-time gold medal winner with the South Korean national baseball team.
The Minnesota Twins won the rights to negotiate with park between the 2015 and 2016 seasons after posting the winning bid of $12.85 million dollars, and he eventually signed a four-year deal worth $12 million dollars on December 1st, 2015. Despite the hashtag #PARKBANG gaining traction during the beginning of the 2016 season, Park never lived up to the hype. He hit an abysmal .191 with 12 home runs in 62 games with the Twins before being optioned to Triple-A Rochester during his rookie MLB campaign. He spent all of 2017 at Triple-A and asked for his release during the offseason to return to the KBO.
He returned to the Nexen (Kiwoom) Heroes in 2018 and played there for the next four seasons. He signed a three-year deal at the end of 2021 to play for the KT Wiz and is in the last year of his contract as of this writing.

Things Could Be Worse: Reviewing the 2016 Twins Terrible Start
The Twins haven’t gotten off to a perfect start in 2024, with some frustrating losses to begin the year. But it's a lot better than the 2016 season, which got off to one of the worst starts in franchise history.
What if These Twins Worked Out?
There’s certainly been more than a handful of promising Twins players that just haven’t worked out for one reason or another. Maybe the prospect status wasn’t there, or perhaps the realization of talent never happened. No matter the situation, there’s more than a handful of guys that we had always wished would pan out.
Twins Hopeful Slugger May Finally Be Here
If the NFL Draft viewership numbers are an indication of the obvious, we are absolutely craving sports. After ESPN initially tried to acquire broadcasting rights to Korea’s KBO for free, it now sounds like a more sensible deal may be coming. For Twins fans that’s a neat development given the superstar that could soon grace our televisions.
Byung-Ho Park Signs With KBO’s Nexen Heroes
The Byungho Park Era is officially over in Minnesota while some would argue it was over even before last season. Park is headed back to the KBO to play for his former team the Nexen Heroes. As part of his new deal, Park will earn $1.4 million or 1.5 billion South Korean won.
Twins Minor League Report (9/1): Slegers, Park Lift Wings as Team Eyes Playoff Berth
The Rochester Red Wings maintained their grip on the International League wild card thanks to big nights from Aaron Slegers and ByungHo Park. With just three games remaining in the regular season, the Wings hold a two game lead over Lehigh Valley.

Twins Minor League Report (8/22): Terrible Tuesday
I have to admit, Tuesday’s minor league report was a lot less fun to write than last Friday’s was, when Twins affiliates combined to go 6-0. That’s because they flipped that record to 0-5 for this one. The only thing keeping them from completely flipping that to six, was because Rochester’s game with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre was suspended due to rain in the fourth inning. That was unfortunate too, as one of their hitters put himself in line for the player of the day award for the second day in a row to that point.
